A childhood of being teased and bullied for being too skinny affects you for the rest of your life.
The people judging are so set on being mediocre that they're unhappy and want you to feel the same. They're jealous it's all it is, I've dealt with this with my fitness journey when I finally got "massive" they went from "you're too skinny stop going to the gym" to "you should get a better job mine pays way more than yours".
