Do you preload the suspension before torquing the screws all the way? At least on the bushing one?
Those are not that kind of bushings. The angles are preset and loud makes little difference
I did this but didn't loosen engine mount in front. I think I hurt a belt or something because the engine randomly makes a squeak noise kinda like grinding. I can't replicate it's random and not constant. Any ideas?

the bolt at 2:40 is twisted, so you cannot unscrew it whatsoever. dead end. what to do nobody knows. any ideas how to get it?
Can you give more details as to whether you are removing the bolt or installing the bolt. Also, what do you mean by twisted? Is it the the threads are crossed won't come out? Are you using a impact wrench or socket set by hand?
@@trackpalmer Thanks for the reply. It is a big issue I got. I tried to unscrew a bolt (control arm, there are 2 of them, one I got easy) which is under the engine mount. Manually. I unscrew 5mm, then I noticed then nut inside the frame is spinning with the bolt so I cannot unscrew the bolt. What can I do. There is no way to get inside to hold the nut, it is rusted with bolt
@@Search1110 That will be a difficult thing to resolve. If you have any type of welder you can attempt to resolve this problem at home if not you will have to take it to a shop that has a welding machine. What will need to be done is try tack weld the moving nut inside the sub frame from the bottom. Use heat to expand the metal then try remove bolt. If that doesn't work it will be more challenging. The head of the bolt would have to be cut to remove the control arm then try to weld the nut inside the sub frame. After welding the nut you may have to use a drill bit to remove the damage bolt and replace. If either of those method work you have to cut and weld the sub frame or worst case source a sub frame from a junk yard. Let me know how it goes.
Is tire alignment necessary after installation?
Yes it is
On drivers side There are three bolts on the underside or bottom of the motor mount not two
It's actually 3. I have an updated video. See in the link
@@trackpalmer - Yeah I thought that was three on both sides
I’ve got the same Toyota solara engine . I’ve been experiencing vibrations on the engine car seats and steering. Could this be the reason? I.e. worn out control arm
Do you mean clunking sounds or vibration? Also, does it happen only when accelerating?
The car seats and steering wheel starts vibrating soon as I get to 60 mph .
@@michaelao7871 it would be nice to describe the vibration. It could be simple as on unbalanced tire.. or a dent rim. It aslo could be a bad front end part. Lift the vehicle off one front wheel and to the rocking test. Hold the wheel with both hands at the 6 and 3 o'clock positions. Gently rock and feel for clunk or movement. To the same test for the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Then do the tests for the other wheel. Depending on where you feel movement different parts could be bad
Check your motor mounts and wheel bearings.
You failed to cover removal of the castle nut off the ball joint. It's very difficult on these cars.
it a tight fit.
Axle nut out and get a 19 6point gear wrench. Remember to lubricate

How long does it take to do the job
Just replacing both control arms should take 3 hours with power tools. You you replacing other parts it will take longer . It's a challenging job if you don't have the right tools
@@trackpalmer I just had the car alignment in February do I need to do it again
@@trackpalmer also I’m in the us an a mechanic wanted to charge me for a whole day he said it was going to take not only that he never wanted to tell me how much it would cost upfront he sounded like he just wanted to overcharge me
good info but i had to turn off the sound because the music was a bit too loud and distracting. thanks for the video. It helped me a lot.
Point noted 🫡
This is absolutely not an easy job.
Why Toyota didn't put that bolt behind the mount in from the bottom is beyond reason.
I had to loosen the passenger mount the front mount, the control arm mount coming off the head had to be taken loose only then would the engine raise the extra bit to get the drivers side mount out.
Then it took about three minutes to zip the control arm bolts out with the impact.
Also to get the axle to release from the hub I used the round ball pin hammer end on the axle and hit the hammer on its face with a bigger hammer.
Buy twe extra nuts and screw them on the axle first to protect the axle threads.
Do not take the strut or ball joint loose until you get that axle loose.
That way all the hammer force goes to the axle not being lost to a bunch of loose parts.
Good luck if you try this.
Not an easy job but with the right tools its not bad. A good impact wrench and breaker bar are essentials.
