I took my mom to Le Cellier on Christmas Day in 2016. We both got the filet, it was so salty we couldn’t finish it. We should have complained but we didn’t. We won’t go back. For what you pay, it should be perfect. I appreciate your honesty in all your videos. Disney is a magical place but they have room to improve!
Yes! The review I have been waiting for! I’m sad your meal wasn’t great. At least you ended on a good note with dessert and the coffee margarita. I sincerely appreciate you always being honest.
oh man, I went to le cellier with my wife in 2019 and the meal was amazing, we both had the filet. Really disappointing to see the food has gone downhill.
I agree. If the steak was given to you with an overwhelming burnt flavor, send it back. Most, if not all, restaurants will understand if it is not to your satisfaction.
@ChelsyLewandowski Hi Chelsy!! 👋 your response tells me you are very patient and kind. For me, it would be hard to complete a "burnt" tasting steak. It would linger in my mouth & be hard to enjoy the remaining food on my plate. To each his own, of course. You are a better person than me. I'd be sending it back. Bon Appétit!!
So I was sharing with a friend and we did tell them the truth when asked, and they very kindly removed it from the bill bec at that point we did not want to wait for it to be recooked. Between my friend and I we ate about half. Our server was awesome and like mother like daughter, I told him the truth.
There are so many delicious places to get steak on property, so consistency is key when charging $50+ for a steak. Somehow the NY Strip at Flying Fish still reigns supreme for me.
Hey Kristen (& Michelle)! I am so happy you review the food you get without returning it! It’s so authentic to what we might experience while visiting. I’m wondering how much the return of the Dining Plan has to do with the quality of food presented. Would you say that food at the parks was better when there was no Dining Plan?
I want to try this place soooo bad---I am kind of scared now---I trust your opinion on this--I think I will go else ware until your next review on this restaurant.
Great video Kristen - love when your mom puts in an appearance! I Have to say that even as an introvert Brit who HATES confrontation both your mom's steak and yours would have been sent back to the kitchen if we'd been there - especially for those prices! Is this something that would rarely happen in a Disney restaurant, or in the US generally? I rarely - if ever - see things get sent back on UA-cam videos, even when they're sub-par. This is a genuine question - perhaps the Brits are just a bunch of moany old whingers lol 🤣
They could def use a lounge! the restaurant is so tiny inside so I don't think they could ever have enough space for it. You can totally go just to order soup & poutine though.
I always say, it doesn't have to be authentic to still taste good 😂 Would you say the one from Le Cellier or the Refreshment port is more authentic? I've gotta get to Canada to try some real Poutine one of these days!
Poutine in Canada is just cheese curds and gravy (usually a beef gravy). I'm not really sure which is more authentic poutine as I've never had either in Walt Disney world.
@@wrightdownmainstreet I've tried the Poutine at Refreshment Port, and it was delicious! Hands down, it's more authentic and simple. If you ever visit, make sure to review Canada's wonderland!!
Thanks for sharing Kristen. Le Cellier has been on my list to try but no more. The filet and rib eye cuts looked awful. I would expect more at that price!
I was a castmember in canada pavillion and worked and ate at le cellier and i like the ambience as it mimics a wine cellar. But I can see why some may not like it. Anyhoo thanks for the videos! 😊
@@wrightdownmainstreet yes I like space too. To tell you the truth I didn’t go often cause I find restaurants expensive. But when I did go I enjoyed the meal.
I have not seen you send a meal back when it is not good, such a lot of money to pay when steak is that bad. We do always send poor food back otherwise they will not worry what they give you. Love all your honest comments have been following you for long time. 🎉
What are ur top 2 places for ribeye in Disney? Thanks for showing us what Le Cellier is like, we have always wanted to try it. Keep up the great videos.
We tried Le Cellier for the first (and only) time in Feb 2022. Haven’t been back because my boyfriend had the same experience with the ribeye as you did. There was so much fat on his steak that they ended up discounting it. We haven’t been back because there are just much better places on property to get steak (looking at you, Toledo!).
I found that ordering the steak rare with a char was the best steak. We dined at Le Cellier and I love rib-eye, had the same experience as you. My son ordered it rare with a char and it was delicious. I glad tl know your experience, we'll know how to order next time.
I do. I was in Outback. Ordered a steak. I ALWAYS order medium rare. When I cut into the steak, it was dry, pink and chewy. I immediately (being polite) sent it back for a new steak. When the 2nd steak arrived, it was the very same. I believe it was the original piece of meat. Again, I returned the steak. It was NOT medium rare. It was pink to well done looking. I was very kind to the waitress who was soooo apologetic. She offered to send the chef to the table. I declined. I ate the veg & baked potato & called it a day, leaving a full steak on the plate. She discounted my plate. I tipped the waitress 30% as she really was trying to offer everything to make up for the error.
I suspect your mom was unfortunate enough to get a center cut filet. We ran into this issue a few years ago, it was thin and overdone. It was sent back and they brought it right back out to us, the chef refused to give us another. I don’t think we’ve been back since. I do love the mushroom risotto, cheese soup and pretzel bread.
I’ve literally NEVER had a good steak at Le Cellier lol, my filet has consistently tasted like venison and has been tough-stopped trying after 3 times years apart. The apps are good. Thank you for the review!
Okay that poutine looks like elevated Canadian poutine for sure. I’m not into poutine myself but a lot of people where I am in Ontario order from a relatively local chain and the price for a large “traditional” poutine (similar size to that order) is about $16 so that fancy one really isn’t that bad! The best poutine is in Quebec which inspired le cellier. In my area we don’t have a lot of poutine options and many people like the Costco poutine 😂
We had a very similar experience there when we went in April. Very disappointing. The steaks were slightly over so instead of a medium rare, a medium. The meat didn't seem like a good quality cut or even trimmed well. And the service was poor - they rushed everything. When we went a couple years ago, before the menu change, it was fine. Unfortunately we're crossing it off the dining list next trip. I don't mind the price but it has to be pretty flawless. Love your channel!
We've been thinking of going but afraid of not enjoying it and wasting the money, lol! This video helped!! We're definitely going to give it a try! Btw we saw you at the grand flo last friday and wanted to say hello but didn't want to bother you, lol!
Another steak place you might want to try is Shula’s steakhouse at Walt Disney World dolphin resort. I don’t know if you ever review any of the restaurants at the Swan, the dolphin, or The swan reserved. They have a lot of restaurants in these three resorts from Italian I think seafood and there’s not a lot of reviews. Kimono was excellent sushi place and it’s right off the backside of Epcot walking around the boardwalk. They also have a food event at the Swan and dolphin. I’ve seen Tim tracker, go this food event . They serve small plates from each of the restaurants of the swan dolphin and Swan reserve. Thank you.
You are paying a lot. Burnt? Too much fat? Kraft Mac & cheese? Is this the Disney “magic”? I love your channel Kristen & you do give honest reviews, but why not send it back? From watching several UA-camrs, it seems like a lot of the food is truly unacceptable. Don’t put up with it
Oh no, what a shame that the meals are not up to par. I would like to know the reason why you did not return the plate, especially where the piece of meat was burnt. That said, I love all your videos, thank you for sharing. (Québec in Canada) And no, the poutine here doesn't look like that hahaha I hope they see your video, adjust and apologize
I had prime rib with no flavor whatsoever, and the cheese soup was so salty we couldn’t eat it. We did like the atmosphere, but have hesitated to try it again. Unfortunate, since we were really looking forward to eating there.
Being new to your channel, I am so glad to see another You Tuber telling the truth about the not so magical side of Disney. Disney isn't perfect and they have made a lot of mistakes over the years. Sadly even the quality of food has gone down somewhat. I personally am more of a quick service guy that doesn't want to spend a lot of money for food, nor lose well over an hour just to eat. The admission costs way too much to spend hours at sit down restaurants, in my opinion. I will do some sit down places but rarely. I am so frugal and old school, it's pathetic. LOL JK! Seriously, I just don't spend a ton of money for food. We ate at Cape may 2 years ago and it was $41 a piece. I hated the price but the food really was awesome. I had no complaints about the food. But I do appreciate your videos for being truthful with us about what you are talking about. Too many You Tubers want to be "Disney Influencers" and get hailed in by Disney for all of the free perks for "Playing their game" to a T. To me it is quite silly, if not ridiculous that so many of the "influencers" portray Disney as "doing no wrong" in everything. I want truth and in reality, it actually helps us guests to want to try some things or bypass them altogether. I also do You Tube videos. I haven't been doing them but a little over a year now. I will do Disney and Universal when I am down there; but I also do a lot of other subject matter than just theme parks. I also tell the truth when it comes to Disney and Universal in my videos. I don't sugar-coat my comments. If something is bad, I tell it. If it is good I make sure to rant and rave about it. I do hope you Kristen, and all that read my comment, will chick on my name and go to my channel and subscribe to my channel and watch my videos. We all have to start somewhere and promote ourselves as we can. Thanks to all that may read my long comment and hopefully will check me out as well. Thanks.
Last time we went the poutine was really salty and the ribeye was really tough, also the guy next to us letting his 5 yr old boy yell and scream the whole time.
This might be a stupid question from an old lady, but here goes. 🤣 When there are 3 espresso beans on an espresso cocktail, are we supposed to eat them? I always eat the olives in my dirty martini...... Thanks! 😃
They’ve gone downhill. I used to love dining there. The same scenario happened to us. I thought it was because I ordered well done but my mom ordered medium rare. Her steak was fatty and charred and cooked medium well. I don’t think they can compete as a steakhouse when only their appetizers are good
The shape of both those steaks didnt even look like a rib eye or a filet. I would have sent them both back. Disney sometimes doesnt care what they put out as far a food because they dont think they are going to see that many repeat customers. Especially in the more expensive restaurants. The food should be the same everytime for those prices.
oh, no! This made me so sad!! 🙁We've eaten at Le Cellier 3 or 4 times and it's always been one of our faves! Hopefully they can figure it out! At least you ended on a good note with the desserts and that La Cava drink!
What a shame about the filet! At that price, I would recommend sending it back. Consistency and getting what you paid for are very important. Tough and fatty ribeye is a disappointment, too. Bummer. Thank you for bringing us along! 💜
What are your other two favorite steaks on property? We were going to try Le Cellier on our next trip. On our last trip my husband had a terrible steak at Steakhouse 71 so I want to find something he’ll like.
For those prices, the Steaks should be perfectly cooked and the Best cuts!!! Definitively would have sent BURNT steak back!!! AND RIBEYE should have just enough fat for flavor, but 70% fat, Yuck... Yachtsman and Schula's are Way better!!!👍
I didn’t enjoy this restaurant! Service was horrible! Waitress spent the time talking about herself to the table next to us! It was very dark and very crowded. I couldn’t get past all this to even enjoy the food! Too expensive to put up with all this crap! Didn’t even remember the food! I will go someplace else with good food and better service !
If you dont complain they will assume you like it and not fix the problem and other people suffer too. Its a ton of money to spend there, they should be feeding you dinner. Akways complain when the food is bad.
@@wrightdownmainstreet I’m a little naive on which cuts are which. I’m sure I’ve had ribeye at some point though. Thanks again for the videos. You and your mom are awesome! 👏
For 62 bucks that filet would be finding its own way back to the kitchen
…and her mom’s steak! Burned? Back to the kitchen with the rib eye
You can order the cheddar cheese soup from the children's menu as your appetizer. It gives me just enough to enjoy before the meal.
Ohhhh great tip!!
Very clever
Ordering from the kids menu is the way to go!
Why do you never send things back? I would have sent the steak back
Pretzel bread dipped in the cheese soup is the BEST! I could eat just that and be happy.

There is nothing like a Disney signature restaurant with a Michilan award winning chef
I don't get why your mom continued to eat her steak if it tasted burnt. For the money, send it back. It's Disney, they will exchange it
I agree. If the steak was given to you with an overwhelming burnt flavor, send it back. Most, if not all, restaurants will understand if it is not to your satisfaction.
I would have finished mine as well. Everyone is different and it makes me uncomfortable to return an item as well. 🤷♀️

Overpaying for poorly cooked food? That wouldn’t happen at all without me sending it back.
I hate breadcrumbs on Mac and cheese. Soul food Mac and cheese is the best.
Typical disney now …..charge more get less
The portions haven't changed here from what I noticed at least
@@wrightdownmainstreet the quality food was less is what I meant… they probably have switched vendors and buy cheaper meat
Filet mignon is not my favourite cut of meat either. I like New York strip sirloin
Ribeye is my go to which is why I am so surprised I love the filet at Narcoossee's so much!
@@wrightdownmainstreet I’m a little naive on which cuts are which. I’m sure I’ve had ribeye at some point though. Thanks again for the videos. You and your mom are awesome! 👏
