    I have a version of this on my TRD Sport I just installed today. Thanks to your video I thought I had to return my version of the tonneau cover thinking the side rails will not go over my bed caps. But you showed me what my own instructions didn't which is super crucial @4:40. This saved me the headache I was facing.

    Word of caution: the existing drain holes in the bottom of the bed are directly over the gas line. Be careful not to hit the gas line when enlarging these holes to place the drain tubes.

    Why not use steel brackets instead of aluminum?

    If you have a cargo devider from toyota it will not work with this cover. The rail placed on the bottom holes eliminate the devider so you have to sell it.

    Wait, can I use an impact driver?

      ll1l2l1l2lll I would not use any power tools for this install. Bought a used g2 and the guy stripped almost every bolt trying to disassemble the thing. I now have to try and order new hardware and half of the aluminum clamps bc they were stuck on his rails. Use a wrench like the gentleman in the video 👍🏼

    What would you recommend using if we want to build our own cover using the factory rail system?

  • @andreboudreaux2043

    Are these aluminum brackets something that Bakflip still sells? I tried to purchase this same cover but they're saying I have to have the factory installed deck rails to make this cover work.

      In my experience just now, the rails themselves wouldn't be required but the drilled holes would.

      i have it, love the look. as for water, it continues to leak

    • @bryanr.3241
      @bryanr.3241 4 роки тому +1

      There is not one made that keeps 100% of the water out. However , it should be enough to keep anything dry. If it's really a concern just keep whatever it is off the floor of the bed.

    • @Jeziorski7
      @Jeziorski7 4 роки тому

      @Chris Ruizpretty bad tbh. Ive looked into adding other gaskets like others have mentioned. This is my second one. The first one leaked from the rails and actually through the panels. Like im talking in the middle of the bed. Eventually they gave me a replacement, but I just took the top not thinking I should take the rails. Maybe the rails I have aren't wide enough or something. I dono. But when there's heavy rain, my bed is soaked.

      @@bryanr.3241 if it was a drip every now and then I wouldn't complain about it. But it's a lot more than that. When you buy a cover for $1,200 you expect it to be a good product. Realistically a $10 tarp would do. a better job for keeping rain out
