I found a MYLR 2021, for 33k with 25,844 miles on it , would you recommend me grabbing it ? Do you think the 2021 is still with it ? Anything helps thanks
The bottom line is….Teslas overall have very little maintenance. Things do breakdown here and there over time. If you know how to handle certain situations ahead of time, you can save even more money! I’ll make a video on this!
I would test the cold cranking amps of the low voltage battery on a monthly base. Electronic boards can't handle dying batteries is my point of view. Such a tester only costs about 20 euro or so.
Chicago alone… sorry. 20 years ago amazing city now every time I have to go there. It feels worse than Third World. That said I enjoyed your content. So there is some preventive maintenance that you can do on your car. Especially in your cold weather change out the 12 V battery every three years. In your case, with the ultra high mileage may be a bit shorter even. Second, since you live in the land of salt, I hope you’re having your brakes cleaned And inspected because that might be a nasty bill. I’ve been a Tesla owner since 2015 and it’s amazing that you can now buy a new car for half of what I bought used ones for. My first was a 2012 in 15 new to me. My second was a 2016 in 18. Also new to me. I still own that model. S and I absolutely love it. Two years ago I bought a model X also new to me as it is a 17. I don’t have all the salt that you do up there so I haven’t even gone through a pair of brake pads in any of my cars , but I changed the 12 V battery religiously around three years. It’s just better than getting stranded. But besides an air-conditioning compressor in my 2016 I have had zero repairs. I am one of those Tesla believers based on the facts given to me by my cars. I find you’re getting a hell of a good deal out of your car for as many miles as you’re putting on it. And not to get into your business but what the hell do you do that you drive 40,000 miles a year?
Thanks for the comment! I’m a dentist but I currently work in a far away town! In Dixon, Ronald Reagan’s home town! Thanks for the heads up about cleaning the brakes!!!! 😮
I can’t go back again! If I had to do a roadtrip in winter which would be highly unlikely I would probably just Turo a gas car or rent one. Teslas are just too convenient!
I felt the same way! I even asked how could I have prevented this and they said there was no way you could have prevented it! Tesla customer service is sometimes unbelievable like that!
Tesla told me there was an internal power supply issue on the cpu. No idea how that can’t be covered (sounds like a defective product to me) but I guess I was out of warranty. So driving many miles can make for some more out of pocket costs! But that’s the same for any vehicle!
@@SamanoSoleyn you will love the Tesla for sure! I would recommend a Tesla wall charger, although not needed, but especially if the Tesla will be your only vehicle.
Summary of problems: This problem was covered under warranty: the front control arms and links issue, which was causing some knocking noises on bumps and turns. Car was still drivable before. Sentry system and autopilot/gps fail…car was still drivable. The cpu replacement at 67k miles/1.5 years was not covered by basic or power train warranty. That was a little over $2k. Then the final main issue at past 120k miles(both warranties expired) was the front body controller fail, which itself was only a few hundred dollars plus labor, however due to window frame damage, charges went up. I will make a better video on dealing with a dead Tesla! Save hundreds of dollars!
From a repairs perspective, I feel better recommending getting a new Tesla. If daily miles driven aren’t crazy high like me, the warranty will last thru time longer. Cost wise though, if you drive crazy amount of miles, I would say you save tons of money versus a gas powered car, but yes there will be repairs needed here and there, if you have similar luck as I did.

how the heck does a cpu fail? you shouldn't have been charged for that.

Great video I'm thinking of buying a Tesla
Go for it! I do recommend Teslas! Just wondering will you be having to drive far for work? And will you have your own garage?
@@TheTeslaBaz 30 km one way . Yes I have my own garage

@@TheTeslaBaz thanks for recommendation. If I pull the trigger and buy one I'll use your referral, Cheers

Would you recommend buying a Tesla…I’m on the fence 😬
I actually would!
Just wondering….do you have to drive really far for work? And will you have your own garage?
@@TheTeslaBaz I will not be using it to drive to work and I do have a garage.
You will love it imo
That's a LOT of repairs in 3 years. Disappointing. Makes me wonder if buying a Tesla is a good idea
