Awesome, awesome, dogs, and I wish I had the time for one!
Even here in the US it's beginning to stop. I know a lot of older breeders who have stopped cropping after researching and finding it better for both the physical and mental state of their puppies. Of course there are always those that will do it until it's made illegal, but I have noticed a lot of folks discontinuing the practice, which is fantastic.
Its not cruel or whatever, what is cruel is people manipulating living creatures and mutating them to suit their selfish and stupid need for fake love which is just a survival instinct of an animal kicking in to please you so you can keep supplying food and warmth.
we fostered one of these who was about a year old, and she was super sweet and sensitive, but she didn't yet understand her strength so she was not very gentle - we called her 'bowling ball' because she would just knock stuff over accidentally - including our other dogs whenever she ran :)
As long as they get the proper training with love. This dog has the heart of a toddler, he has to be with you constantly and loves you unconditionally. Also they need to be treated as a baby. I would never get another bread. My Pitbulls were so loving it was almost like a human with me. Smart loyal loving and very powerful. They were originally called nanny dogs because they wanted children, and they protected the kids like nothing else.
1. the aggression was bred out of them on purpose. 2. Companionship was bred into them. Foundation, American pitbull old English bulldog Staffordshire Terrier and other Bulldog breeds. These dogs are super needy / in love with people. inside dogs. love to sleep.
My pocket bully was abandoned in the woods after being used up for breeding. I was so lucky to be able to give her a home ... And my bed... And my pillow... It's awesome. She's an angel 😇 perfect ! She's a snorting, snoring piggybull .
Id love a bully but the prices being asked currently is ridiculous, don't understand how anyone could just abandon a beautiful dog like these in the woods 🙏🏻🙏🏻
True. I have an American Bully, he’s so gentle and soft. He never bites, he can tell the difference between friends & family or strangers. I would recommend this Family guard dog.
Well, in some hunting and working dogs or baiting and fighting dogs, one of the reasons that cropping and docking started was to avoid injury or infection in those extremities. In some narrow cases, this might have been defensible in the past but in modern times, there's really no other reason than for a desired look.
@@kaloianmarinov7581 Seriously?!? With all of the qualifications I put in my comment, you felt the need to argue about it? Tell me in very specific terms what I said that you feel is so incorrect that you needed to "call me out" over it. F me!
I used to say the same thing. After 35 years of owning pitbulls and now American bullies that's mostly true but not always. I had a male that at 10 months turned aggressive to anyone outside my family and any dog not in my house. He was socialized and never encouraged to play ruff. He ended up biting people and killing a dog before I put him down. That said he is the only one in 35 years.
American Bully so far has a amazing temperment. They are great with kids. In my experience. I own two. They are basically lazy couch potatos if they have their way. Please dont judge this breed before you meet one. I did.... i thought they would be vicious.... i was wrong. Its the owner of any breed that makes a dog dangerous. Keep in mind that this only shows pocket bullys. Have a look at the stardard and XL aswell. I can tell you now those gentlemen who own those dogs have done more research into their breed than 99% of people reading this. And they are working towards making the breed healthier and more functional.it is a new breed and needs more time. But dont judge untill you meet a well bred one and interact with it, that goes for all animals.
To me, a dogs breed, is only about how it looks. (Mostly, anyway, Huskies will love to run, a pitbull will love to play tog of war, anywho!) Each dog is different, any socialized and trained dog, will be a good doggo! Any dog breed can do harm, if trained to, it is scared/startled, or not properly trained. How one trains a dog, means everything. The breed doesn't, I don't believe that "Oh this breed is a aggressive breed" bull shit! Hell! Even sheepdogs and Labradors can be trained to be vicious! And people always say those breeds are "so good with humans." Judge the dog, by its actions, not its breed. Sorry for long rant!
Many of them are couch patatos. But some are VERY HYPER NON STOP PLAY MACHINE'S. THAT NEED HYPER ACTIVE OWNER'S. I GOT MY FRIST PITT AT 15 YEAR'S OF AGE. TRAINED HIM TO PLAY RUFF. NOT FOR CHILDREN! BUT HE LEARNED PLAY FIGHT WAS OWER WHEN I PATTED MY CHEST. HE WOULD THEN CRAWL INTO MY LAP AND GIVE ME HUGS AND KISSES.
I have friends with these dogs. They have to be socialized! They can be a bit aggressive when they're not used to people. All bark, no bite so far though. The ones I've been around are very warm and cuddly with people they're close to. I'd say definitely get a bully, but make sure they get used to being around other people and dogs.

I notice a theme whenever a pit bull, Rottweiler, or other large and muscular dog do something awful like tear apart a three year old. They’re always living in a run down house, in a low-rent area and the family live like animals.
K ris I completely agree. However I’m sure there are labs and golden retrievers that do the same but don’t make the news because they aren’t pits or rotties. So sad

I absolutely love my American Bulldog. He's a Scott size or a standard size. I rescued him from a great rescue here in America. After the horrible experiences he had (was completely emaciated and was due to be put down by animal control in Georgia), he's the most gentle and affectionate pup I've ever had in my life. He loves children and greets everyone of them with licks. He's about 2 years old, and he's a solid 75 lbs. They're amazing animals and deserve more recognition as a gentle giant and great family pet!
They're popular here in the UK too. I love their friendly nature, but they make me laugh because they always want lots of attention and affection - and let you know it!! ❤️🐕
I met someone at a store one time that had the extra large version and I mean extra large lol. But it was such a sweet puppy I hated when I had to go. 😊
The mass majority of the terrier breeds are such amazing dogs to have. There's always the exception of the rules I understand. All people aren't great either. Personally I've never met any bully breed dog that wasn't sweet and affectionate. Grown up around them my whole life. I've only had them my entire life and I'll never have a different breed either.
@Denise You mean Bull breed? Bully is just short for American Bully, and is a name/ term originally used to help separate the American Bully between other bull breeds by some of the people that helped start one of the American Bully's first registries
They are gorgeous, big soppy dogs, and the owners seem very sensible. Still if I saw these walking towards me I would be a little unnerved, but I don't think I could pass by without asking if I could pet them. Thank you for showing their softer side. :)
Everyone always asks if they could pet my pocket bully Zeus. He gets so excited at the thought of meeting new people and other dogs his tail wags a mile a minute and he just spins in circles. Such a lovable creature 😊
It's always advisable to ask the owner if you can approach a dog anyway. The friendliest dog can get startled or just be over friendly and cause accidents. Mine love people but I keep them away from the two boys because they jump up and have sharp claws. The female is more placid and goes for the belly rubs. If someone wants to fuss the boys it's fine, I just have to make sure I keep them tight on the lead.
My boy is the most loyal and loving dog I’ve ever had and I’ve had dogs all my 42 years. He’s old now and may not be with me much longer, but I’ll never forget or stop loving him. My mums collie puppy bullies him as does her cat. He’s never hurt a fly and thinks everyone an everything are his friends. If I could I’d have him forever. He’s truly amazing. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙. No cropped ears or docked tails for me. Natural is best.
Thank you so much for doing this video! There are so many misconceptions with this breed. I've had two American bullies and they really are very affectionate dogs. As an owner they are alot of work and need to be socialized early. Mine have been through a lot of training and training never stops with them. They love to learn and play a lot. Would not recommend for older people because they are so much work. This is a hyper breed and most can't keep up with them. Never leave any dog alone with a child!!!
@@Briscom your an idiot. If your kid is hyper does that make them aggressive? No, just means they have a lot of energy. I wouldn't talk shit unless you know what the fuck your talking about! Get a life troll!

To anyone who says that the dog breed isn't dangerous I propose this question: Would you prefer leave your toddler in a room with a spaniel or an American Bully XL? I think most answers would show that people do accept some dog breeds are dangerous.
In response to your proposal, the correct answer should be neither. A responsible dog owner would realize that there is potential for attack from any breed of dog. As for the two breeds that you inquired about, its about even. Spaniels are well known to have attacked children in the past just as the pocket bully have. However, these are not pitbulls. They have been specifically bred to be companion dogs rather than game dogs. While the bully and pit share similar looks, there is a massive difference between the two breeds. In closing, all dogs can, and have been dangerous to deadly despite breed or training. You never can tell when an animal has had its line crossed and will attack. While I agree that some breeds like pitbulls that are bred specifically for their aggression shouldn't be a dog that many people are allowed to own. They should require licensing that needs to be renewed yearly to prove the disposition and training of the dog.
It depends on the individual dog, but I'd say an average spaniel is more likely to bite or get mouthy, but the Bully has higher severity if it does bite. So for toddler I'd probably prefer to leave it with a bully because the bite from either could be fatal and bullys are generally more sweet with kids. For older kid, I would go spaniel because a spaniel bite wont be fatal for them in any situation. Really I would not leave young kids and dogs alone at all though, but hypothetically I would choose Bully.
@@TheOmniscientAtheist No it doesn't depend on the individual dog because you can never know. What you can do is assess trends and American Bullies seem to be killing people left right and centre, another person killed a few days ago. Your take is truly idiotic and you shouldn't be allowed to own a dog if that's how you think, especially if you have kids. How many of these deaths are caused by people with such naive views as you. Those dogs were bred for killing but apparently you think they are sweet. The mind boggles.
Well, I know cropping is now considered cruel & has been largely discontinued, & I personally was born with strongly negative feelings towards any form of cropping or docking, I don’t think it was the point of the vid, & it was discussed. I think this video was very good & I learned the answers to many questions I’d been formulating about this breed for a while. I’ve noticed that happens frequently when I watch this particular channel. Perhaps we could comment on all the good things first, then acknowledge there’s still much work to be done.
We just got one! He’s a total love. One of the first things I noticed what how much he loved children and other dogs, and how relaxed he was when approached while eating. Thanks for this great video.
He doing amazing. He’s 7 months and everyone absolutely adores him. He’s a favorite at our local dog park. He’s friendly and loving, super gentle, and very submissive (almost too much) with other dogs. He never starts a fight. He just wants to play and be loved.
P.s. He was pretty easy to train also. We’re still working on the recall but he’s eager to please and very treat motivated. We never let him on furniture and keep him in a crate at night. We started the training right away and he took to it well.

We have the ‘standard’ size and he’s currently 65 lbs at 7 months. he’s still a pup and will fill out more. He’s a little ‘ham bone’ as they call him at the dog park. Not yet as big at these dogs in the video but a bit taller. He’s a lilac tricolor with green eyes. We didn’t clip his ears and will neuter him at a year. They are nicknamed ‘velvet hippos’ because of their bulk and smooth coats. They do tend to have a lot of food sensitivities so we have him on a lamb and rice only formula. They are great dogs.

The backs and soft pallet issues generate from all the Bulldog that was used to create this breed. Although it is still a young breed and has a few issues, the issues in this breed are far less worse than what is found in many of the Bulldog breeds in comparison

Ed Sheppard Although a revered breeder is far from the breed originator. I’ve been dealing with and breeding these dogs since 2012. The breed originated between guys from Virginia and the west coast.

Dogs in general, and pit bulls in particular, are basically the friendliest creatures on the planet. If they act poorly it is completely the fault of the humans who raised them poorly.
rockn roll - yes, some breeds are more dangerous, but with the right owner any breed can be well behaved, and with the wrong owner any breed can be badly behaved and/or dangerous... :-)
I love pitties to death, I have two rescues myself...but just like extreme breeding of any other breeds these American Bullys kinda just make me said. They get so stocky and beefy they can't move properly, poor babies. We've done so much damage to dog breeds. Also, don't crop their poor ears. God. It's great they feed raw though so at least they have that going for them.
@@chickennuggetsarelikemyfam6404 "Pit bull is the common name for a type of dog descended from bulldogs and terriers. The American Bulldog is also sometimes included." Pit bull is not a breed. All this takes is a google search. Also, the term bully encompasses multiple breeds that are not considered pit-bull type. And what can I do to help with his breathing? Ya almost like I can’t take him on long walks and We don’t dare leave him outside in hot weather without supervision and for long periods of time. But I would love for him to become more active.
@@Animal-Watch I'd love a shepherd video and maybe addressing some of the issues with the show dogs conformation? Such a shame all their ears are cut short, I am glad they banned this in my country and UK as well. My sister has a female American bulldog of 65 kilograms and she's just a sweetheart.
I live in the US and have owned several of these exact dogs... All of their ears were cropped and no problems at all ... Their are many more benefits than negatives to having their ears cropped... It should be up to the owner... I'm sorry you feel that way... I have to disagree.
In Germany it is forbidden to do this with the ears and the tail. In Zwitzerland it is forbidden to import dogs with these ears and tail. The information about this is here very different.

We have owned pits and American bullies our whole lives along with breeds like labs and other hunting dogs… our pits and bullies are far more people friendly and even less dog aggressive. They are also the most protective dogs for the kids, they all sleep with my daughter and follow her around keeping an eye on her. My sister has a baby and they instantly recognize they need to be gentle with him, and they always follow and protect him… they naturally want to protect theirs, and will do so with their life
I was fortunate enough to adopt one from the local pound. Didn't know what I had until I went back (they offer free personal advice for life). The lady in charge breed these dogs and asked me if I knew what breed he was. He was classified as a pit bull when I adopted him. She had a grin from ear to ear when she saw him. I didn't know what his value was until she told me. Shocking no one claimed him since he was found locally on the street. I assume he got too big to handle and someone dumped him on the street. I'm smitten with this dog and his personality. I couldn't have gotten a nicer dog.
Dogs are awesome creatures, they are able to love a hundred times more than humans are capable of. They will love you unconditionally no matter what and will seek love unashamed.
I think these dogs are over done and very man made. The only dogs that are naturally this muscular are the am staffs, the am staff bullies and the bull terriers. I don’t know what people are doing to make these dogs so big but I can’t imagine it’s healthy for their bodies. It sure doesn’t look healthy too me. I love all dogs but I think people need to stop modifying breeds.
You can find pictures of cane corso from way back in the day and they look the same as they do today. My point isn’t about the breed being “made up” it’s about the fact they they are over done and not natural. If you look up pictures of am staffs and bullies from back in the day they look nothing like these dogs in this video. I think it’s important to keep any dog as natural as possible. People want the mess around and make “new” breeds or make them bigger and better when really your just screwing up the health of the dog.
I think your missing my point entirely. If you want to be technical all breeds are “new” and man made. And a lot of breeds have been brought back. My point is that the breed of dogs in my opinion so be as close as the original breed as possible. These dogs in this video are not. I’m not saying they are bad or that they shouldn’t exist I’m saying I don’t understand why people have to make them so disproportionate. It doesn’t look healthy to me or natural.
I'm sold. I'm definitely getting one to grow up with my daughter. I was told to get a pocket bully and now I see why. I can't wait. Hopefully I will get one for my daughter before this year is up.
My dad got an American bully, when I saw the photos I said “no chance & I going near him” Then I met him… he is LOVELY kind, affectionate, soft & beautifully tempered. Basically winne the Pooh 😅
Thank you for this video! I’ve become enamored with bullies recently. I have a relative who owns two very loving, sweet pit bulls and I agree that it is up to the owner to make sure their dog is properly socialized!! I may become an American Bully owner!😊 I just love their look.
I appreciate these videos because it shows you what these dogs are like when treated/trained properly. But I think what people need to remember is that some people just don’t mix well with some breeds. For example. I love husky’s, but I could never own one because of how vocal and verbal they are. It would drive me crazy.
One of the most common dogs in shelters in the US. Too many people don't know how to socialize their dogs. If you get one be ready to be firm and spend time meeting other dogs and people of all ages. When a bully's behavior goes wrong it can go very, very wrong. Please be responsible no matter the breed but especially with bullies. I think they are gorgeous but I know I'm not the right person to own a big, strong dog. I have a GSP and a min pin/Papillion mix.
Bad analogy. Bullies are great and they have good reps. They are some of the best, most loving, playful creatures I've ever met. It's pretty amazing actually.

I never understood docking tails or cropping ears of dogs. Tail and ears helps them communicate with people... and they add so much adorable features.
Well, in some hunting and working dogs or baiting and fighting dogs, one of the reasons that cropping and docking started was to avoid injury or infection in those extremities. In some narrow cases, this might have been defensible in the past but in modern times, there's really no other reason than for a desired look.

He ended up biting people and killing a dog before I put him down. That said he is the only one in 35 years.

(Mostly, anyway, Huskies will love to run, a pitbull will love to play tog of war, anywho!)
Each dog is different, any socialized and trained dog, will be a good doggo!
Any dog breed can do harm, if trained to, it is scared/startled, or not properly trained.
How one trains a dog, means everything. The breed doesn't, I don't believe that "Oh this breed is a aggressive breed" bull shit!

I was fortunate to have a bully, prob one of the nicest and friendliest dogs I've had. Temperament wise, I'd say they're close to a french bulldog.

I don’t know what people are doing to make these dogs so big but I can’t imagine it’s healthy for their bodies. It sure doesn’t look healthy too me. I love all dogs but I think people need to stop modifying breeds.
Says the fan of corsos a made up breed
You can find pictures of cane corso from way back in the day and they look the same as they do today. My point isn’t about the breed being “made up” it’s about the fact they they are over done and not natural. If you look up pictures of am staffs and bullies from back in the day they look nothing like these dogs in this video. I think it’s important to keep any dog as natural as possible. People want the mess around and make “new” breeds or make them bigger and better when really your just screwing up the health of the dog.
@@adogloverslife you have a NEW breed there was only a handful of examples in Italy and the breed recreation began
@@adogloverslife manmade with a purpose the cc is a RECREATION used to peddle another bandog
I'm sold. I'm definitely getting one to grow up with my daughter. I was told to get a pocket bully and now I see why. I can't wait. Hopefully I will get one for my daughter before this year is up.
Hands down one of the best dogs to own, ive been changing peoples perspective on the breed with my own. Mad love to bully owners and bully fans.🤘🤘🤘
We have two American Bullies and many people have changed their minds after meeting them! 🐶🐶🐕❤️🐾🙏
STILL ......... NOT a staffie pardner."
My dad got an American bully, when I saw the photos I said “no chance & I going near him”
Then I met him… he is LOVELY kind, affectionate, soft & beautifully tempered. Basically winne the Pooh 😅
I know, you just don't expect a dog with that look and size to be gentle and loving, but the larger Bully dogs seem to be. ❤️❤️🐕
"It's down to the owner" is true for ALL breeds. The only issue I worry about this breed is that their structure may be prone to skeletal issues.
9:44 Poor Dios; has no idea what his owner just told the world about him
I’m actually scared of Chihuahuas too they’re demons 😂
omg, look at there big squishy faces :D
Thank you for this video! I’ve become enamored with bullies recently. I have a relative who owns two very loving, sweet pit bulls and I agree that it is up to the owner to make sure their dog is properly socialized!! I may become an American Bully owner!😊 I just love their look.
The most "dangerous " part of American bull terriers are their tongues and the tails beat you in the knees
Just keep telling yourself that!!!
@@Briscom those are the ones I have run into, the only bad ones are made that way by mean humans
Right my dogs tail can take me out 😭 she’s lovely tho
My neighbors have one named fatso , he’s a great dog very playful
I appreciate these videos because it shows you what these dogs are like when treated/trained properly. But I think what people need to remember is that some people just don’t mix well with some breeds. For example. I love husky’s, but I could never own one because of how vocal and verbal they are. It would drive me crazy.
I have a Stafford shire, she is the sweetest thing I've ever known. Pits are not, are not, dangerous. It's the owner period. Lola keeps my kids safe.
Staffordshire terrier are not pitbulls
I dont know...these dogs looks like they dont feel comfortable in their own body
These dogs are quite adorable. Seem very silly and super affectionate :).
This applies to all pit bull type dog breeds.
Even an AK-47 is peaceful, as long as as the trigger is not pulled...
A Ak-47 is peaceful by the right owner
maanvol bad logic. Safety off? Magazine loaded?
Lori Hanks again, bad logic 😂
Bad analogy. Bullies are great and they have good reps. They are some of the best, most loving, playful creatures I've ever met. It's pretty amazing actually.
An AK47 doesnt rip appart children "on accident"
Really calm and responsible owners. Better than most dog owners of all breeds.
*When I look at that breed all I see are expensive vet bills....go back 150 years and bull dogs looked much different.....actually since we are on the topic....150years ago 300 breed's that are around today Did NOT exist....shows how man has manipulated canines and usually not for the better!*
Totally agree with you! Human is a worst creations of God. Real monster.
And 150 years ago theres was breeds that did not exist 150 years before then ..
you are completely wrong: these dogs looks like the 800's bulldog.
@@PLATOON72 No American Bully are mutts bred with mutts.
300 years ago? You must be older than my grandfather 🤔
