Man! Santa Cruz was my home away from home when I lived in the Bay Area. I always lived in Palo Alto, but all my free time was spent in Santa Cruz. Sad to see that the Saturn Cafe was permanently closed. But at least the 11th Hour and the Santa Cruz Bookstore are still open! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
@@sailingavocet spent many a late night dining there;) Well, so did everyone else, actually, it was always packed. You know the old joke, no body goes there anymore, it’s too crowded. There was also British styled pub downtown, as well. Can’t remember the name. I used to play darts there. And it is still the only bar I used to feel at ease reading a book while I was there;)
Thanks for this week's video! Looking Good out there. But it is time to sail the High Seas. To see what the Boat can do and take you. Ok until next time. Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
@@sailingavocet Aww! Didn't know it was that long ago. Ok if ya'll happen to be sailing to the Big Island. Let me know. Ya'll have a place to stay here. My wife is a Great cook and the Ocean View from our lanai is to die for. Some of the best Sunsets you have ever seen. Ok thank you for answering my post.
Had to return to some Avocet videos ! That stretch of Cali is so nice for sailing with the Islands not far away and a few decent anchorages. I've recently thought I'd be at home in Ventura marina, sailing the islands weekly. Your boat looked pretty good there in Santa Cruz harbor !
A good and interesting video.!! ✅ Glad to see it 🥳 Hope you have a nice time on the boat with Cleo and your family, And that Chris has a good shoot and enjoys himself. 👍👏
Fun! Thanks for sending the link! We like anchoring on the west side of the wharf also! Way more picturesque! We are making our way down to Mexico this year in autumn!
Jamie is from San Mateo has family all over Half Moon Bay and went to school in Santa Cruz. She's an official banana slug! This one definitely hit different :)
We used to have some, then Chris convinced me that boat life was not cohesive for mountain bikes. You know what happened after that? We sold our NICE Santa Cruz Bikes, then two years later bought cheaper bikes haha!
Well I checked out the prizes of those bikes and they are not exactly cheap. 😅 Pretty nice bikes though 👌 But you can get downhill on slightly more affordable bikes too I guess 😉
Grew up in San Jose, Santa Cruz was the beach we’d go to. Love to see Santa Cruz from the water. Awesome.
Cheers!

@@svmersea Perfect, we are heading there too. We blasted down Baja and went straight to the mainland so we are excited to head up into the sea :)
