Good to finally see another skin tone comparison, since I personally think this is actually a very overlooked improvement over the gh5. Which picture profile was this shot in? Is this difference in color science relevant even if you are shooting in log and going to grade the footage anyway?
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. I JUST ACQUIRED A GH5S and noticed that the max ISO available to choose is only 6400. In addition on the menu, VFR is not available to be selected. No slo mo possible. Does this sound like a warranty software problem to you? My REC quality is set to FHD, and VFR available. Have watched many videos and read the manual.
as for my understanding, you don't jam the timecode using 1 camera tc output as master to another camera. you need to use a jammer like tentacle etc.correct me if i'm wrong.
@@edjefferson9175 the main concern is not that it drifts. Rather it is the inability of this camera to get a continuous jam when a TC generator is kep connected
Dear Erik, great video, the one I was waiting for! Can you tell me which color profile were used for the color vectors comparison in the vector scope? Thanks!
I use a gimbal with my GH3 all the time and do not have much of a problem with it... though some lenses have a stiffer focus and/or zoom ring than others, which can get a bit problematic. In general, though, I don't see it as a problem compared to the improvement in low light. I have to admit I'd sacrifice a bit of low light for IBIS... Short version is I'm probably going to get the GH5S because I already have a non-stabilized work flow and shoot about 90/10 video/photos.
What lens do you have on the gh5S?
Really nice review Erick! Thank you so much, The GH5s is the camera that I want! I film weddings and the high ISO performance is great!
Anyone know what lens that was on the GH5s throughout the video?
They are Zeiss Contax primes
Hey, do you know if the GH6 also have the same timecode "issue", in that it does not continuously read from the generator?

I shot all the test in standard profile. The color science is global so yes. I think the new color is the best new feature.

Thanks for the update. What kind of gear ring did you use on the Zeiss lens? Looks solid!
The lens gear are from followfocusgears.com/ They work very well and have a pretty large selection
Great video!
Nice work Erik
Thanks Curtis

Time code that's out of sync from the start and drifts over time... quite literally defeats the purpose of ever messing with it. Sigh.

do those clicking buttons end up on the audio when recording

Thanks! I used the Standard profile for all the test.
Great video, thank You so much. I am now subscribing to Your channel. :)
Excellent info and great delivery. New sub!
Thanks
👍👌
So pro review!
If you have to use a gimbal you won't be able to adjust the lens.
SomePlaceForVideos you can use a motorized follow focus.
Yes, for $600.

The lens cab doesn’t make any fucking sense on UA-cam.
