What a rush seeing so many booths back to back that were beautifully curated and staged - almost as good as my coffee this am!
I love the black-white-yellow, it really pops!
I always group items by color, if I don't have enough one item.
Also, I always have a shelf of red items. Red always pulls the eye to a display. Loved the virtual "hunt".
As a shopper, I appreciate when merchants group like colors together. My eye knows what it likes and I can pass by the items that aren’t of interest! To many colors gets too overwhelming for me 😂
Thanks for sharing Melanie!
I totally agree!
I have the Del Monte canisters - my dad worked for Del Monte Corp., headquartered in downtown SF for 40 years! The promotional set was produced in the 1980s, and I kept mine for all these years. Too bad kids of the latest generation(s) are rarely interested, so I'll probably need to find someone outside the family to pass them on.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing that :)
I’m here in Hot Springs, Arkansas and plan to visit Northwest Arkansas in the spring. Hopefully, I can get to a few antique malls too.
Great ideas. My niece and I want to have a booth or start a small antique store. Thank you for sharing!!!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing, giving me great ideas for my booth😊
You are so welcome!
Melanie, watching you reach for the cute twine gathered old keys made me feel good about displaying the ones I have in my booth on an old hooked, wooden key! I so appreciated all the eye candy in each curated vignette! This episode is earmarked to watch on replay!
Yes! I loved all those old keys :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Great camera work, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed this video. Always looking for inspiration on staging. Thanks much.
You are so welcome!
Bumble bee colors...Makes shopping so much more pleasant
Yes it does!
Loved the booths - had quite a few good ideas- I actually have the Del Monte canisters- never thought of stacking them- gonna try that !
Enjoyed the walk through, and recognizing items from years ago. Very talented vendors!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great tour of the malls love that you point out certain vignette, is very helpful. The yellow, white, and black setting was very cool. I'll be watching this video again wonderful ideas.
Fun video! Lots of great ideas. Thank you!!
Thanks for this video. I am setting up a temporary booth for a fair and this really gave me some great guidelines and good ideas!
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I took your advice and color coded my booth. I saw a change in sales immediately. ❤
Oh, this was just so enjoyable to view! My particular favorites were the black, white, yellow space along with all the colored glassware groupings. These vendors definitely have good eyes for displaying their products and drawing people in. Thanks for taking us along on this walkthrough.
I loved the black, white, and yellow too :) Glad you enjoyed it Ellen
Love the Del Monte cannisters.
I have made small little flower arrangements out of the old tin spice containers to sell in my booth. Super cute and fun to make.
Great idea!!
I use the battery operated candles- sometimes they sale. They really look good at Christmas time.
Thanks for taking us along. Love seeing booth displays.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
I absolutely love these types of videos, it is so cool to see the beautiful vignettes and displays! I agree with the color matching not only does it look really nice, but it makes styling easier 😂 I especially love the super unique ways of putting things together, that is my fave!!
Just found your channel, love it. It is so exhilarating to walk through an antique booth/mall and to see an owner who knows how to merchandise. Of course I am an Etsy vintage shop owner, worked in Retail for years , and love to merchandise. Off to view your other videos, with a cool ice tea! Thanks for your hard work and future adventures ❤️👍❤️.
Thanks for watching!
I loved seeing so many well sourced and styled booths, so much pretty and fun inspo!
I totally agree!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
This was eye candy at its best! Thank you
I wish we had antique malls around where I live. I’m from Canada and have not seen any place around my part of the maritimes where you can have your own little shop. I enjoyed the tour... thank you for taking us along.😊
There is a very nice little antique mall in Salisbury NB.
THANKS MELANIE!!! For yet another "AWESOME, INFORMATIVE & EDUCATIONAL" Video. I especially loved (and my eyes were drawn to) those deep green drapes that were hanging in the first booth. As always, looking forward to your next video. 💛💚💛
You are so welcome!
I loved this! Every booth was different, but well done. It is good inspiration.
This was fun! Grouping by color certainly does catch the eye! Thanks, Melanie!
You are so welcome!
I love it !!! Thanks for sharing.♥
Thanks for watching!
Great way to stroll before the shops open today! I'll bet some of these dealers are your subscribers, none of the booths near me look this great LOL. I'm a long-time Etsy seller and I'm on a waiting list for a booth in a local antique mall in Upstate NY, your videos have been super helpful.
Beautiful and eye catching booths displays! Those vendors are skilled and know what they are doing. Thank you so much for sharing your tour. I may have to refer back to this time and again! You have the best videos for booth owners! 😊
Thanks for watching!
Love finding your channel. I appreciate all the tips for booth owners and displays. It not only helps me in my own booth in a small town, but also to see what others enjoy finding and what's trending to buy or look for. Very helpful. I try to always group like colors together as well. Visually appealing in displays!
You are so welcome!
I really enjoyed seeing those gorgeous booths very inspiring, loved the pops of color and the groupings of color.
Thank you! Cheers!
GREAT VIDEO....THANKS FOR SHARING AND HELPING TO EDUCATE US....LOVE IT!!
Enjoyed seeing what other booth owners do, thank you for the inspiration!
You are so welcome!
More of this content. I am a visual person. Not verbal. This video was very helpful.
Loved seeing the different styles of booths, each with it's own theme. I have used many of your booth display suggestions in the past.
Wonderful!
So fun! Thanks for the tour. I really like the 2 booths that featured the mid-century pieces but all were well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautifully curated spaces for sure Melanie
Some of those spaces have a lot of new merchandise, which is a lot easier to display
This is a great video! I’m getting ready to move into an antique mall, and there were so many inspiring ideas here. I love how some vendors filled empty spaces, whether it was keys in a bowl (I’m totally stealing that idea), or stacking those canisters to take up space in a completely different way.
Thank you for the tour, some great booths!! Love seeing the colors💚💙💖
You are so welcome!
Loving the color grouping! It makes such a statement 😊
It does!
New sub. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the sub!
Such a relaxing and inspiring video! Love antique shop booth tours!
Glad you enjoyed!
Since I don’t have access to any electrical outlets in my booth, using battery timer candles seem to help bring just a tad bit more light and warmth onto the shelves. I find them alllllllll the time while out thrifting, so I wouldn’t worry about purchasing them from a big box store! 😁
I don't have electricity, either. I've been playing with the idea of fairy lights on a timer, but I can't decide if they'll eat through batteries too quickly.
@@chandaharkins4418 I did try fairly lights recently during Christmas! I can confirm the batteries do NOT last very long. Unless you plan on coming in to replace them every few days or so, depending on the battery, it might not be worth all the effort.
@@7thHouseStellium Thank you for letting me know about your experience with fairy lights. I don't think it is worth the effort to me, but I will keep the LED candles in mind.
I loved everything! My biggest challenge that no one addresses is how to store items, until I want to use them. If everything is put away, how do you locate all the "like" colors? Or do you store everything on open shelves and pull from there? AND you've said not to keep much stored away, as it isn't cost effective, but if you want like colors, don't you have to store them away? LOL You have helped me so much, since I found you! THANK YOU!
Hi Pam. I usually built my displays as I shopped. I started with a theme in mind, then when I found a few things that fit that theme, I would keep buying until I had what I needed. You’re right, I’m not a huge fan of storing a ton of back inventory, and building those big, beautiful displays takes a lot of items! But you can incorporate the same idea on a smaller scale :)
@@LostFoundDecor Thank you, that makes sense. I wonder if it is a little more difficult, in areas with winter snow and storms - no garage sales, flea markets, etc. I'm chomping at the bit for those to start this spring!
@@pamb4798 Yes, I'm sure that does factor into it a bit! Shopping and sourcing in every area of the country is a bit different.
Loved each booth . So many ideas!
Yay! Thank you!
They were in the booth with the beautiful green curtains as a backdrop.
Hey Malinda! This video is from about a year ago, so not sure if they are still there! But you can always check and see :) The store is called Somewhere in Time, and it's located in Rogers Arkansas
@@LostFoundDecor I will check and see. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tour!
You bet!
I enjoyed this video so much. I did not want it to end! Thanks for sharing.❤
So glad!
What a fun video! Thanks for sharing Melanie! Did you mention what malls you were at or what the booth brands were?
Hi! I'm not sure I did, but these were at the Somewhere in Time Antique Mall in Rogers, Arkansas
fantastic
Thank you for this video! Working on the plans for my next booth reset and I got some great ideas from the booths that you shared here!
You are so welcome!
What beautiful booths and I love your pace with the camera and your narrating! I’m a new sub and so glad I found you! Did you say the name of these two malls or the area? If so, I missed it. Thanks for a beautiful video!
Thanks for the sub! I didn’t mention the malls but they are Somewhere in Time in Rogers and Tontitown Antique Mall in Tontitown (both Arkansas)
Thanks for the virtual tours. I would like to start my own booth at some point, but knowing where to acquire the "right stuff" at the right price would be a challenge for me. Have you done a video on that subject, Melanie?
I don’t have that exact video, but do have one about pricing theory in general-it’s called “Are Your Prices too Low?” I would spend some time at your favorite local places seeing what things are going for to help as a starting point :)
I love the curtain on the back wall of the first booth. I am curious how they hung art with it. Any insight would be appreciated!
It's called 'Grouping Like Things Together".
Thank you :)
You’re channel is a big help to me as I start a booth of my own! Question: Have you addresses tagging in a video? Like stickers Vs hang tags, hand written vs typed or branded, just a price vs a story. And does it matter. Thanks!
Hi! I haven’t addressed tagging specifically. Ever mall has different requirements, but it can be helpful to give your items an item # if the sales team will record it. A little bit of branding with your tags won’t hurt, but in my experience it also won’t make or break your business as well :)
Can you share the names and locations of the antique malls? I recognize the second mall as I was just there last week and I would love to go to the first mall you featured! Thanks for the great video.
Sure thing! The first mall was Somewhere in Time in Rogers, Arkansas. The second was Tontitown Antique Mall in Springdale, AR
Can you add any content on antique mall display cases instead of booths?
I'll see what I can get together :)
I feel like I’ve been to this antique mall.....🤔
I'd like to know the sales made from a booth that is this organized. I find if mine are sparse and organized, I sell less. I know, it's wierd!
There can be an issue when the booth is too sparse… especially if you’re in a mall where the customers like to dig 😊 It’s good to know what kind of shoppers your mall attracts then try and cater to their liking
What are the names/city/states of the malls you showcased? Thanks.
Hi Cindy! I was at the Somewhere in Time mall in Rogers, Arkansas, then the Tontitown Antique Mall in Tontitown, AR
I love browsing antique booths. Did you get anything?
Not this trip! But usually I always find something :)
Do you play music in any of your booths? I am considering opening a booth and taking notes from vendor’s . In some booths I have noticed that they have music playing and I would think it would be inviting.
I personally do not, however the malls themselves have music playing.
I get compliments on my booth. People say it’s pretty and organized and clean. My sales don’t reflect what’s said though. The booth across from me does very very well and seem to sell LOTS of smalls and has super low prices, I’m not sure how they do it. I watch people come and go directly to their booth then smile at me, compliment my booth and walk away. So disheartening.
That is a bummer :( It sounds like you’re competing with the person across the aisle from you, and it’s tough when another seller creates a “false bottom” in the pricing market by pricing their items so low. They don’t realize that it hurts everyone else in the mall and most likely their pocketbook too 😫 Is there another location you could try that has higher end dealers? Or maybe even another spot in your same location, that’s away from the cheap booth?
@@LostFoundDecorI decided to close up at the end of this month. This was my 2nd location and was a much larger booth than I’ve ever had. I’m going to stick with my smaller booth in the town I live in -6 minutes away vs 30 minutes away. 😊
I am looking for those deer stag bookends! Can you tell me the name or phone number for this place please?
The name is Somewhere in Time Antiques in Rogers, Arkansas :)
I am the highest selling dealer psf almost every month in the mall where I sell here in TN....my booth is a stacked, teeter-tottering mess, always, with no direction, sense of decor, rhyme or reason....If you want to do well, skip this video. The time you are spending trying to be a decorator you could be spending out FINDING BETTER S\%#.... Keep it moving...smalls = work (choose wisely and price low)
Hi Dave, thanks for taking the time to watch my video. And congrats on your high sales! Often booths as yours describe attract other dealers or pickers, at least in my experience, which can sometimes mean lower prices and smaller profits. Of course, if you do a lot of volume that can work. I prefer to sell less but for higher profit margins, just makes less work for me :) So there’s a few ways to slice the cake.
😢 boringg
lol. thanks for watching :)
