Timeless voices of an era.
Michael and Lionel wrote it they knew it. All the other stars are singing this for the first time.
So glad they collaborated on that section…the way that bridge came together is amazing & the most powerful moment in the entire song IMO 🎧 🎼 🎶 Bravo! 👏
Beautiful to watch these pros work it out… I’ve recorded before and this is why it’s called work. 👍🏽
How many million times did i replay steve perry’s part? YES
i love this teamwork n how their all making it better together n nobodys trying to out do each other!!
Omg ...when mj starts...I hear angels singing 🥰😢🥰😢
Talk about it. His voice was/is golden💛🙏🏾
CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC. No artist can come CLOSE these days
What legends are incredible and what voices I have been getting for 30 years, incredible, every voice is unique and so much power is unbelievable
Cindy is in her own world.
Nothing wrong with that..i love her
We need another one but it could never be like this one a lot of the greats are no longer amongst us !! I love them all but MJ, Cindy, Diana and Dionne sound amazing !! But They all killed it !! ❤️🙏🏽🕊🌟🤩😎
I believe there is a remake of this that was released in 2010. It was no where near this though
they all sound amazing
I love Cyndi ❤️ she a ray of sunshine the original Harley Quinn.... love this
I love how Cyndi ask if she did too much after she did her final take...she just doesn't want to overpower the two vocalist beside her cause her voice is so powerful that she need to step away from the mic just to did that high note
she sounded dreadful
She's by far the worst sounding one
@@llwydanwylLmao she sounded fenomenal
@@jorgealvarezsinprecedentesgood joke
@@user-vr8fs8gg6h It's not a joke
This shows how much work it takes to make musical magic...
True stars back then. Love their voices. Don’t see that magic today.
That final take was magic man….best part of the whole song
Don't ya just love Cindy Lauper's Brooklyn accent? So charming. And at 8:00 when they're singing over the piano only. Wow.
What I learned here is that it takes time and time for all this professional to deliver this job... new artist like us should learn how to work slow and steady to get it done.... not overnight
Oh yes this song takes me back in 1985,when the song was released,my aunt bought me a T-shirt with all artists ❤
Was a little kid ,in 1985 but I can vividly remember this song blasting on our Am transistor radio.
My dad got swag from the recording. He did camera utility. You can see him in this video ( 3:12 ). He’s the one with the jacket with Malibu written on the sleeve.
We still have the white sweatshirt you see some of them wearing in the video. Wish we still had the .45 of this song.
I love cindy so much i dont know why
Cyndi working that 4 octave range. The end is the most impressive with all of them hitting their mark at 7:40. That must have been hard to coordinate. How many takes did it require?
Yes she was amazing 👏
Varios meses
It only took one take to get it right. But it took 10 takes to doing it wrong, before doing it right.
It required 7 minutes and 40 seconds worth of takes, Sir.
Well they were there from about 1030 at night to 10 am... So apparently 12 hrs!
Omg cindy lauper is so adorable! ❤ I never heard her speaking voice before. She has a cute personality.
Never seen the whole thing lol that was BRUTAL to watch 🤣
The song is by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie... This part of the song is the only one that explodes and demands from Cindy and Jerry the tone up there and synchronized... And it's one of the best parts of the song.🎉🎉🎉
The fact that the parts at the end that open the song are the ones that made the final cut is awesome. Only a couple were changed.
Fabulous.
Love the way Michael Jackson made such an effort to get dressed up for the performance.
Great performances by stars , WIllie Nelson, Springsteen who just created a bridge for the whole performance, Kenny Rogers, , some of the greats ie Tina , that are now sadly not here but make this more special .RIP.
They recorded this after the American Music Awards, so he was dressed for that
She was always my favorite in this video. She killed it.
Cindy is a natural...love her💯🙏💝
@@childofgod6461 Really fun gal
i love her 😍❤️
Cindy is cool
No she didnt
Cyndi Lauper is amazing! She had just arrived in the studio right after performing and coming from the American Music Awards, and she was still on point❤
The guy sitting down next to Michael Jackson’s shoulder is clearly trying not to laugh😂
Saudades...
O Rei do Pop
Diana, Dionne, Steve Perry, and Michael for me..
❤
For meThis is much better than the new version of we are the world
I watched the Netflix documentary and noticed they didn't even mention Quincy's 25th anniversary version. That was an odd remake that relied very heavily on processed vocals and autotune (which to be fair is a popular thing in music now, I guess). But the original relied on natural singing talent and sounds much more in unison.
Every year this gets better
unquestionable talent exceptional singers, a better time and one great song.
Michael is looking like where is my belt?
Many people talk about MJ pure talent but it’s not just that, this guy worked so hard since he was a little fellow so it’s not only talent but years and years of hard work
Watching it with memories and perhaps most in tears....
Love this classic
Michael's so humble whereas Lionel is a powerful leader!!!
This is so legendary behind the scenes wish we could go back in time and have Michael Jackson and Kenny rogers and Tina turner and Ray Charles back
Steve Perry with one line showed why he is the best male rock vocalist of all time.
9:43 Definitely.
100%
After michael that dudes voice was something else. I point it put cause i dont know Who he is😊
Same as the King of Pop
@pedropabloceron6150 Lead singer of Journey. One of the greats.
I love this lady with yellow and red
