    Just lovely, as usual. Whatt is that green? Echo green? Aqua green? It is beautiful. Here's what puzzles me: Why would anyone give any of your videos a thumbs down? Just crazy.

      Aqua green I think. I can translate Australian 😀

      Thanks very much Debbie. It's Aqua Green by Winsor Newton - sorry my accent might have mucked that up for you. If it makes someone feel better about themselves by giving a thumbs down to a non controversial video that someone else has spent days working on, that makes me feel sad for them. It makes no difference to the UA-cam algorithm though and doesn't effect how the video performs in the search results.......so thumbs up, thumbs down they're all counted the same. 🥰

    Beautiful, Louise! I love to see you working with a "multi-colored" bird as I hope to work my way up to those, I have many I'd like to try (including the Glossy Purple Starling, discovered a gorgeous photo by Joel Sartore and got his permission to use it as inspiration, I'm thrilled!) but for now I have much practice to do on simpler color schemes! I share your bloopers at the end with my husband, we both enjoy them so much and think you are so amusing! Thanks for making us smile!

    Great to see you having fun Louise. Pretty little Bee Eater....I did notice a water mark on your final paper, not usingbthat quality of paper myself does that inhibit sales at all..does the Mona Lisa have a water mark? Its just a small painting I didnt notice...and yes I have actually seen the old girl in real life and was rather disappointed by her size and have to say she is over rated!!! You are so much more interesting Louise. If I had the money I wouldnt buy herbut would certainly buy yours. Have a great day 1🤗💜

    I love the colors in this bee eater. Looking forward to following the tutorial on Patreon. Question: When I pull pigment directly from the top of the paint well I find there isn't enough water in the brush to let the paint flow onto the paper. What is a solution for this? Thanks so much.

    When you were fanning the paper making the whopping sound I thought she is going to break into "Tie Me Kangaroo down". :) I have a blue jay I started a while ago I will have to break out to finish. I find as well if you aren't going to be painting for a while? I put a clean sheet over it and weigh it down with a book, keeps the paper flat. Even when using a 300 pound cold/hot press paper.

      Thanks for the tip Don. I've got a Scrub Jay stretched and ready to go on my painting table (I think that's what they call it). Tie Me Kangaroo down sport, tie me kangaroo down............😝

    Hi Louise. You are as lovely as your paintings. I subscribe to your wonderful lessons on Skillshare. Can you please tell me if I can avoid stretching the watercolor paper if I use hot press watercolor block at 140 lb/300 gsm 100 % cotton? Is the block able to handle the amount of water you typically use in your watercolors?

    • @LouiseDeMasi
      @LouiseDeMasi  3 роки тому

      Hi Lo, thank you! I find the paper still buckles on the blocks. Blocks are great for doing little studies and painting outdoors. I'll sometimes use them when I am filming a tutorial but I don't use them for a finished painting usually.

    • @LouiseDeMasi

      Thank you Mr S. It's beautiful to paint on. If it's in your price range it's well worth it. You don't have to stretch it and it is really tough. It takes some scrubbing if you mess up and want to try and rub a bit of paint off. Washes go on beautifully and if you're a bit of a fiddler like I am- it's accommodating. Other paper I have used don't hold the washes as well and when I want to have a bit of a play with it the washes will sometimes lift and I end up with patchy areas. I don't find that happens with Arches paper.
