With tris to quads, you can also open up the little black menu that appears with operators and change both angle limits to 180. That way it'll remove often a bunch more tris that it would otherwise skip.
Another addition when you're lost in the node abyss, just press the [ HOME ] key and it'll show the overview of all the nodes. Works great if you're zoomed in on a large network of nodes and wanted to see everything without scrolling a lot of times.
Here's another tip, if you quickly want to show-off your work to a collegue, press CTRL + Space to hide all UI, press it again to return.
This is what happens when you don't delete the default cube. It gains sentience and starts telling you what to do.
🔫 if I were you, I'd shut up. The cube watches you!

i love the way you present this - everything is so conversational but not completely dumbed-down either. I'm super-noob, so all this is fascinating to me, so I'm definitely subscribed.
Wow. Thank you man. Glad it could help. Appreciate your really kind comment. I'll try and keep it up 😁
Totally agree
pro tip: you can press (.) dot key to go to selected object in viewport or in outliner. You can press home in shader view to center on your nodes
Yes , this is best
You can also pres (.) in the shader if you have a node selected, which you can easily do by hitting A if necessary. Might be helpful for someone if they want to be more consistent with the object method.
that's not pro
that's lifesaver beginner pack
Awesome. Came here to say that you can press A to select all and then (.) to focus. But now I also know about the home key
You are, without a doubt, my favourite source of Blender knowledge
So many things here that I needed to know years ago. Thank you. Your Stache character is just the right mix of disturbing and hilarious.
😂 right mix of disturbing and hilarious. That's funny. Appreciate you 🫂
This video(and probably part 2) is going to hang out in my blender playlist for years, and i guarantee i will be coming back to this a lot.
Your comment will hang out in my MIND for years, i guarantee you that. Appreciate you brother 🙏🏻
Awesome! Your delivery is hilarious. I laughed and laughed...and learned a bunch. How have I never known that you can have UV slots the same way you have material slots?!?!?
I know right. Too many features in blender. It gets lost in the sea of other primary fearures
@@stache_obj I also laughed a ton and learned a bunch too. Thanks for these videos!
I love your energy, so fun to watch!
Great video, thank you for all of these reminders!
Love this! Super helpful and charming ❤
So many things I didn't know. Thanks for this. That first tip blew my mind. I had no idea.
Aye. Glad i could be of help
I truly hope that you are doing theater somewhere! Your onstage presence is Oscar worthy! Not to mention the fabulous tips you have given the world of Blender! “And the winner is…” Thank You!!!

Stache youre a hero. Ive watched hundreds of blender tutorials, none of them come close to your attention to detail, healthy pacing, self awareness, and humor! You are appreciated. Glad I found this. Subscribed.
Appreciate you my brother
great tips/tricks bro, love your videos as well 👍
Hi! In regards to moving the 3d cursor. What I usually do is go into edit mode, select one or more verts, edges or faces, and then click shift+s and use cursor to selected. Then the cursor will move to the select vert, edge or face or in the middle of those that you have selected. Much quicker and more precise :)
Oh that is genius. I've never thought of doing that ever. Thanks man
Great video!! I knew a lot of these but there were still a couple good ones. Keep it up!!
Yeah they're pretty foundational tips tbh. And if you're even a little experienced in blender you might already know a few. Glad you find atleast some useful
Instantly subbed, fantastic video
with all respect .. why is everyone down here sharing knowledge only and not addressing the AMAZING PRESENTATION SKILLS AND SENSE OF HUMOUR!
Keep going brother

Much thanks to you my sir
Theres so much to blender its insane thank you so much !!!!!!
If you have median point as transform pivot, you can select the bottom face or vertices of an object for example and setting the cursor to selection will place it perfectly in the midde. Useful if you wanna set the origin quickly and in the right place.
This was awesome. Super helpful, thank you!
Glad it could help !
really helpful !!
That was awesome! Thank you 😊

Thanks man. Means a lot 😁
There is an addon called "extra pie menus" built into blender which I really like, because it has an option to manipulate the origin of objects, and you can toggle which extra menus you want, so if you dont like something you can just turn it off.
Super helpful! :D
Glad it helped!
What a funny and informative video! Very welcoming to those who are getting into blender :) appreciate the vid man, looking forward to watching more of your videos
Appreciate you saying that
impeccable humour, outstanding presentation, random praise words from the bottom of my heart and the meaning of them i cant remember but mind-blowing video anyway

Thank you sir, for dropping a comment and stopping by.
This is how I know UA-cam’s algorithm sucks. I consume a lot of Blender content and yet this is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos. Entertaining AND super helpful! So rare to find both qualities in Blender content!
Heyyy. Thanks man. Means a lot.
Seriously, first time? Wth UA-cam?
I thought i was just not making good things and hence PPL didn't watch my stuff.
I appreciate you saying that, gives me some confidence boost for sure
@@stache_obj Anytime! I often fall asleep (literally) watching Blender tutorials or cringe at people that are just way too meme heavy, but this is the perfect blend of humor and information. I'll be working my way through all your videos when I find the time! Keep up the amazing work!
Hey stache , your videos are a great help because it contains small details that actually matter for small artists and which have hardware the same as you , we have the exact same laptop and it makes me feel confident and easy going . ^_^ keep it up
Hell yeah man. Happy to help
After you said shortcut enough times it starts to sound like "chakra" and so i felt like i was watching a very spiritual video about discovering various blender chakras
loved it
the fact that a cube is teaching me makes this video so much better. Thank you, I will never delete a cube ever again.
There we go. Stop #defaultcube hate. This guy gets it

9:52 You can just press home key on your keyboard to find your node setup and it can be used in any scene in blender
I press A button and then period (.)
this has to be the most informative blender vid for avid blender users, had to sub for this hidden gem of a vid
Hell yeah. Thanks man
Randomly stumbled onto this, knew most of the tips but stayed for the personality, good stuff XD.
Jason buddy, that means the world to me. Thanks a lot. 🫂
Really funny! I hope to dive into Blender later this summer. Thanks!
We can't wait to have you 👍
love the videos, keep it up please!
Thanks a lot man. More stuff coming soon
I like your video. It's fun .Thanks
I like your comment. It is also very fun. Thanks.
this will amazingly reduce the amount of effort and time I spend working on modeling. between this and part 2 there were quite a few facepalm moments for all the stuff I could have had a much easier time doing. Quick favorites! Ctrl-F,V,E absolutely fantastic! Increase Undo steps! I Love it! Thank you!
Glad you liked them
I'm sold on presentation !!! GJ :}
Hey. That's great. I'm glad. 👍
Great video 👍
also super younique avataryouve made there 😆
you're definitely the best new UA-camr I've found.
That's too kind. Appreciate it my man
A few more tips to change your life as well, stache:
1- Forward Slash (/): Hide all BUT selected and focus camera on selected. This is a toggle, meaning hit it again to bring everything else back exactly as it was. It's also viewport independent, so you can do this to one viewport without affecting the others. This is incredibly useful when modelling or sculpting with many pieces, but is also useful when tweaking animation in a crowded scene.
2- Numpad Period. Center viewport around object. Try it. Also works in the shader editor, so when you lost your nodes: A then Numpad Period to center the editor around all nodes.
3- Regarding the 3D cursor: Select multiple points then set cursor to selected, and the cursor will go in the center of all selected points. I use this to precisely rig finger bones a lot. In otherwords, loop select that tree and the origin can be centered that easily.
this is geniussss
Es uno de los videos más entretenidos que he visto de Blender!!!
Aww man. Thanks a lot.
I love your profile picture btw 😂
for finding nodes in the shader editor you can press "A" for selecting all the nodes and if you press '.' key, view will get focused on the node grps similar to the thing in object mode
Love your talking animation of your face, really funny !
Funny is all i aim to be. So appreciate you 😁
More please...I thought I know everything....lol
Picked up some good ones. THX🙂
Happy to help
at 6:20, there is a way faster method to move the 3D cursor exactly where you want: mesh>snap>cursor to selected. so in this tree example, you could tab into edit mode, select that edge loop at the base of the trunk, and then just start typing "cursor to selected" in the context menu until that option comes up. whatever you have selected (faces, edges, vertices), it will automatically go to the exact middle of it.
You know what, that is definitely more accessible for that tree use case for sure. Thanks for sharing
thank you for this video
Thank you for this comment
on the shader abyss problem, just press HOME, it works on others menus as well (like the keyframe, home will frame all)
Informative AND entertaining... new sub here.
Welcome aboard brother!
I was already mindblown with the fact you can zoom in and out. four years since I first stumbled blender and whaaaaat.
Oh yeah😂
This is the first video I've watched
And it's so funny 😂
I'll take funny any day over helpful so i appreciate you!
GOD, I HAVE A WIERD FEELING THAT ILL BE BACK HERE IN THIS VIDEO MOAR THAN ONCE A WEEK
Hell yeah. C'mon. Mark your attendance in the comments everytime you do.
Jk. Thanks for the support!
HOW DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH INFO I DIDN'T KNOW I MAKE LIVING WITH BLENDER. Genuinely impressive, thank you bud
Really. That's crazy. When i was making this video, i thought wow most PPL would already know this, but heck who cares, let's make it anyway. Glad it could actually help.
reading the Blender documentation pages might be boring, but can actually teach you many things
Blew my mind within the first 3 seconds of the video
Hell yeah 😂👍🏻
Hilarious... Love this tutorial. Love your humor.
Ayeee. Glad you liked it 🙏🏻
shift + s u can do a lot of manipulation with 3d cursor. For example, you can move the 3D cursor to the vertex and move the origin there. p/s sorry for my english
6:00 Wow! This will definitely improve my workflow.
There's also a plugin called Object: Align Tools if you prefer buttons over menus.
I'm gonna give that a try
More please!
I learned nothing, I couldn't help but constantly focus on your avatar, it's amazing.
I don't blame you. I'm very distracting. Call me 🤙
Materials Utility is a built in addon that gives you a quick menu to create and apply materials. It is most exellent.
okay, shift + g with the combination of ctrl + f, ctrl + e is literally blowing my mind right now. I just tried using it on a new blender project, and already, this is speeding up my workflow like 10x. WHAT. I've been MISSING out
Ikr. Pretty crazy. I learned it literally a few months back and I've been using blender for a long long time.
Glad it helped.
Probably you get tired of hearing this but you should already have a bazillion views. New Subscriber.
Aww. You're too kind my good sir!
instant sub because box head. thank you very much
Thanks man. Welcome to the box cult
For quickly placing cursor at scene origin, press SHIFT+C, it also frames all objects in the scene, it's a weird hotkey but very useful.
Furthermore I'd strongly recommend anyone doing modeling to get the Friendly Pivot addon to make origin point and cursor transform editing actually good in blender.
That's a great set of tips. Appreciate you contributing here in the comments
7:26 you can also use “value” node so that you have to change only one thing
you got a sub
You kno what you got? Great taste!
You are my favorite vtuber so far 😂
I can't count the number of times that shift+G in object mode tip wouldve come in handy. Thanks for that.
Aye. Glad i could help. Thanks for the continued support spaceman!
One of my favourites is when you want to reset a field, just hover over it and press backspace. It'll go to it's default value.
Ahh yes. I use it all the time. Should remember it for another one of these videos
9:44 you can press Home button or go to View -> Frame All
absolutely the craziest vtuber I’ve ever seen
