- Highlights of our kiting experiences coinciding with the annual AKA convention in Seaside Oregon for October 7-12, 2019. It is not meant to be inclusive, nor representative of the AKA convention. Please consult other media for that perspective. We did learn a thing or two though.
Some very interesting kites there, Glenn. Cherie's work did not go unnoticed!
Thanks Jim, so you are a year older, yes? You are as prolific as ever. Keep them coming. Cherie says Hi !👍
Nice video Glenn. Wish we have such big spaces over here. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it. It is a very large beach. My first time there.
What a great video Glenn. So much great stuff in there! I loved the light up Trilobite and the Snickers bar. So much fun stuff here. Makes me wish I could have been there.
Hi Ken, take it from me, make the most of your regional kite gatherings. A convention differs in priorities. It is an opportunity to meet and greet some accomplished designers and stunt pilots. Like you, I am enamoured of the night trilobite. Perhaps Santa will be kind.
The Snickers bar cracked me up! I love it!
A lot of fun stuff to watch Glenn. I even see my friend Ed Grys. Shared your video on the Wisconsin Kiters Fan Page on Facebook so his friends can see. Looks like an excellent location.
Thanks, good eggs one and all.
Fantastic video and a lot of beautiful art kites, I think I need to start indoor flying over the winter look very relaxing !
Hi, start with the IFlite 2 and progress to the Wala, a much more physically demanding kite. For either prep your flight line by putting a foam washer from a spindle of CD/DVD blanks on the end of the line as a stop. You will be more relaxed knowing where the end of the line is.
Very cool Glenn! Nice artistic kites flying! Great job!
The art kites were nice. The big Christian Baden Powell Terranis kite was put up indoors. Big piece!
Nice footage. Enjoyed your flick session.
Thanks, the winds were totally slack. I needed to pull a kiters trick out of the bag, so to speak.
Thanks for sharing Glenn and Cherie. Enjoyed seeing those "art kites" and of course I could see a number of your own sewing. That was a long trip north. I hope you enjoyed it. It appeared the weather was a bit challenging at times and maybe a little cool. Did they have some workshops or mostly just free to fly ?
Hi Carl, there were multiple workshops every day. Cherie and I had no interest in participating in them when we could fly instead. The weather in the " shoulder seasons", Spring and Fall are changeable as one might expect. Too, the competitions were of marginal interest. At our age, the notion of saying ," I am better than you" seems misguided. We try for personal best, but after all this is kiting, yes? My sponsoring a Trilobite challenge was more of a reason to invite flyers to bring and fly an interesting and reliable kite. Regards, Glenn
Hello my friend,
A very nice Video.
The movie is very succesful.
A like from DidiAurich
Have a nice weekend.
Thank you DidI, your work is the best. I appreciate you. Glenn.
Nice video Glenn...😊👍
Thanks, I appreciate the nod!
Nice coverage Glenn... did you splice any line with your new tool from Christian yet??? I had to practice when I got home so I wouldn't forget the procedure. Take care and see you in the air! Mike Dertien
I'm buying the latch needle in sizes.
I'm thinking I saw Mr. Scott Skinner at 13:00 holding onto a big blue bird kite, am I correct?!?
I give up. I did search for myself first, but I can’t find it. How does one pronounce “panying”?
pawn-ying ?
panny-ing ?
Something less obvious?
Regardless, those eagles are fascinating! Thanks for sharing them (and all your kites) with us!
Pan eagle, gliding eagle, eagle glider. Search Kaixuan Kite factory in China. Communicate with Monica. She knows me and she flys eagles also. Search James Jen on youtube.
Pan like frying pan. Ying like thing. Pan ying, or eagle that glides.
Good
Thank you my friend, I am grateful to you.
