@@leeinwis RESPECTFULLY disagree ! I'm interested in purchasing a 2025, IF it can be shown that the new liquid-cooled engine exhibits no problems. I have a 2021 Himmy , and have test driven a 2024, and I liked it a LOT. However , the test drive was barely 15 minutes , and ALL on pavement . I'd love to hear what DITR has to say after a year of use . Cheers !
I can't speak to any Royal Enfield prior to 2022 but my Classic 350 has over 7k miles on it, has seen zero issues, and has only gotten better and better in terms of it's performance. I would (will?) buy one of these new Himalayans in heartbeat!
I've got the Himalayan Scram 411 and never thought of it as a dog. For what I do and my skill level it's great for moto camping and hitting the trails with like minded people. I'm glad I purchased it and plan to keep it for quite some time.
@@BarrySimmons-y4h the scram was my first bike. Upgraded to a TransAlp because I don't have a car, and need to do miles sometimes. But the Scram was awesome. If I didn't need to truck 4 hours on the highway, I wouldn't have upgraded ❤️
Very interesting review. Would be cool seeing a long term review by you. Ben your hard work is paying off by getting invited to these events. Great job and well deserved
Great review & after watching “The Fuzzy Biker” in Marnie Iowa who owns both the 411 & 450 it’s really got me intrigued. Fuzzy has put a lot of miles on his since the introduction of the 450 recently. It’s great to get honest quality reviews from you both. Looking forward to your next video.🇨🇦
Give dork a RE Himalayan 450! Seriously, his channel is awesome. I grew up on dirt bikes and am looking for a street legal ride that can possibly take me anywhere. The Himy 450 jumped to the top of my list!
Same with me, I have a deposit on the Ibex but I am now trying to get a test ride on the Himilayan. I am very curious to hear how @Dorkintheroad will compare these two bikes. Where is that Ibex 450 first impression????
@alexmoreno8156 are they though really? Similar horsepower, similar suspension travel, similar weight. I'm waiting until I can try out both because I've heard the tank design on the MT might not be conducive to taller riders. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm surprised how similarly capable the two bikes are, when I thought the RE would be worse on road and off. I'll be looking forward to more comparisons from "American sized" riders once more MTs make it over here.
Well, I was looking at both and in the market I live in, they both came at similar time. I had a dilemma between the two when I looked just at specs, but I ended up buying a Himalayan without much thought. Why? CFmoto has more on paper. There are some things missing from RE - folding mirrors, adjustable windshield, a little more power and a little less weight, quieter operation of 2 cylinders, BUT, I like the design of the Himalayan, the dash is immeasurably better - not the quality, but the design. I can't stand these ipads on motorbikes, and Hinalayan is the only tft screen I like that I've seen, it looks like an analog one... it also has a bit more ground clearance and you can see that when they're next to each other. The seat height suits me much better, I keep it on 845, I would have to buy this CFmoto higher seat right away, because after only a minute, my knees were crushed (I am 188cm/6’2) I also like metal more than plastic, and the latter - very subjective, but these 270 degree 2 cylinders with sound are too boring for me. Nothing bad, but 90% of ADV engines have the exact same sound. And Himalayan is different. So it depends on how you look at it, and thank God, there are buyers for both 🙂
Give Dork a bike for a longer test. I have a 411 and the 450 is looking really good to me. I value his opinion greatly and want to see more from him in the 450.
Give Dork a bike !! Thanks for the review, I have a 411 currently and looking to upgrade next year when they come to Canada so really looking forward to more content and your thought on it !!
The last time I was in Salt Lake City the _posted_ speed limit smack in the middle of the east bench suburbs heading to Parley's canyon was 80 mph. No one was abiding it. To Royal Enfield: please loan Dork a bike for long term review.
@@mcgilm69 - Ja, so I gathered. Going 85 would probably prevent being rear-ended. But going over the posted speed was no surprise. The surprise to me was such a high posted speed in the middle of a residential conurbation of millions. Great review! You have sealed the deal! As soon as they are at my local dealer I’m getting one! Was leaning toward a KLR, but this ticks all my boxes..
1) GIVE DORK A BIKE! 2) How were the vibrations on the highway compared to your old KLR? I'm interested, but vibrations ruined the riding experience of my 22 KLR.

Great review! RE seems like they've done their homework on this one and improved the old bike in so many ways. The value proposition is undeniable. I honestly haven't followed your channel for a couple of years, as although I wanted to get a bike, life got in the way, as I need to get in to small house, then a newer car (241K on my '06 Sequoia but she's paid for and so far not too expensive to maintain), and at 63 and having not ridden since I was a teenager, I may never get one at this point (I just could not get comfortable with riding and cars around me now), but I did want to say I am SO impressed at your professionalism and production value. I followed you in your early days on YT, and you always struck me as a genuine, friendly/positive, honest and basically someone I'd be honored to have as a friend, and you are just killing it with your presentation style now! Awesome job--stay safe out there, and even if I never getting a bike, it'll be fun to ride vicariously through you!
Royal Enfield, give Dork a bike! Thanks Ben. Really enjoy my Himalayan 411, but the poor highway performance is a real limitation. Interested to see one of these in person.

I doubt you'll see this, Ben, but you mentioned doing the NorCal BDR - be careful on that beautiful logging road North of Hwy 44 on Section 7 of the NorCal BDR. It goes from a high speed to dangerous. There's a rutted soft spot about 2.5 miles in from Hwy 44 that caught me by surprise and laid me out pretty good last week. Also, give Dork a bike!
