My wife passed 7 weeks ago and I'm finally getting around to cleaning up the house where she could not do it for quite some time. I've run into a problem she had wicker shaped like a hat with string hanging down from it and seashells tied to the string. Very pretty to look at but the Wicker is much finer by that I mean not as thick as what you showed in your example with the basket. How would I clean that? It is shaped like a a Chinese hat and also the shells have somewhat yellowed. Do you know what I should use to clean? I know this I know this question is a little awkward but I appreciate any help you can send me thank you

I haven't read the comments below, so I apologize if someone else mentioned my tips. I recommend putting the dirty baskets if you decide to wash in the bathtub while kneeling beside it. When using a brush it keeps the spatter in the tub instead of the splatters of the brush gets away from you all over the sink area. I also recommend taking your electric sweeper with the brush attachment to remove dust in the cracks a crevices of the basket. This way the dust goes into the vacuum cleaners dust compartment. ❤

Uh 🙄 where have you been all my life?????? My allergies are screaming, THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

Nice Tops. ALSO: Repel dust mites by spraying them with vinegar and tea tree or other anti dust mite oil: 20 drops of oil, four tablespoons of vinegar and a cup of water.

Baskets and lamp shades work better with dusting when taking them outside especially those with allergies, Plus the dust won't settle on something else around. Just sayin.....

Yay! I've actually thrown out wicker baskets that were dirty. Didn't realize we could completely wet wicker. The paint brush is a good one as well. Thank you so much.

With a smaller painting brush you can dust corners and angles and things around the house that are hard to clean, like frame corners or statues, small things, chandeliers, literally everything that you find it difficult to dust with a cloth. I learned this trick from an old woman. It's so easy and lifesaving!

I have cleaned my baskets like that for years and they have always come out perfect. I buy mine at Goodwill and they are usually cheap. I like to use them for catchalls and storage. Having my TV controls in a cutie basket looks much nicer and makes them easier to find. Works great for magazines and stitching projects too.

Been washing my baskets for thirty years! As for cleaning baskets without getting them wet, the brush is a good idea, but I also use my vacuum with the brush attachment to suck up the dust! Better than just brushing it!
