lots of glitches have similar properties between games, so its more like taking a vast pool of experience glitching one game and applying it to another to find what works. more complicated glitches either come later or are discovered through sheer luck
The forest has never exactly been hard to break. Combining that with the game not being finished and any 5 year old with 15 minutes of practice could beat the game in half an hour.
When a game is so poorly built and a clone of its past edition it's easy. It's like cheating in a COD game. Engine is 20+ years old. Everything is already broken. A 12 year old could do it blind. The speed at which this stuff takes off across media though is incredible.

SoTF really isn't any different, the game breaking and low resolution textures were likely caused by problems server side and the game keeping up with rapid movement, which is valuable, because I'd hate to fall through the world just trying to drive the sled around. So really it's all accounted for.
Book surfing is one of the funniest but also cool speedrunning glitches I’ve ever seen. I hope they don’t outright remove it in the final game, but maybe make it harder to do…
I think Charlie might have set a world record for making it through all stages of grief in the shortest amount of time on that clip towards the end when you first reset your timer lol
I tend to build massive castles in every game. My completion time is usually 40 hours at least because I have to get my ramparts just right before I do the first task.

Hey Charlie, I'm no speed runner but I haven't seen it done and not sure if anyone does this but when you die and respawn tied up you can look down and hold E to untie yourself before your characters eyes open. So when the screen is still black. I imagine this would save a big chunk of time.

The stick out of map trick reminds me of the old Amnesia The Dark Descent speedruns using the shovel as a teleporter to get on top of the map. Super good run to just hop into a game fresh and do it so quickly
FYI they patched out the clipping through locked doors with sticks, even put a note next to that one saying (sorry speedrunners). And they patched the "sliding" while having the book open thing.

I’ve played the first one the forest and I thought it was pretty cool although towards the end it got pretty glitchy because one time I literally fell through the map and ended up underneath but other than that it was pretty fun I’m just curious as to what other people think of it let me know in the comments..

It's basically a filler ending, the game's in early access. The plot's going to make actual sense later, everything that's in right now is pure filler.

I really think the devs focused on the survival aspect more than the story, and I agree that for the early access release, that is more important.
