Was just looking through mods for my fxbb and stumbled on your good self, excellent ideas bruv I'm straight on it. Parts ordered and on there merry way , just wanted to say cheers and appreciate it, well in 👍🏻
For the derby cover did you use a gasket? Or straight bolt on ? Asking mine came with nothing but derby cover my last one came with gasket but the fin derby 😪
I asked harley about the gasket and they sent me one for the twin cam engine which doesnt work. I just used the stock rubber underneath the derby cover. No issues with leaks mate.
Cool mods! I noticed that you didn't change the indicator lenses to work with the smoked lens caps. I opted for the chrome/amber bulbs. You should also get a hair dryer and heat up the fork and frame reflectors so that you can just peel them off.
Good for you mate happy to see things working out for you . Them black fork covers look way better. That's the bike i want Billiard Blue would suit me .
@@TheGingybeardMan Yeah i wish i live in the Philippines now 21 years now just turned 70 .The problem is the import tax of 90% makes it expensive and the roads here are no good im almost aged out almost.
Like your mods on the bike so far the Hd bad lander seat looks great on that bike at least I think so all ways something glad to hear that you got it fixed 👍
Clutch cable should never be out of adjustment, its spring loaded self adjusting on these bikes. The mechanism behind the derby cover was probably out of adjustment, a failing by them. They dont use thin oil to run them in they use regular stuff. Pedal height would have been set by them too!
@Gabriel Montana cheers man. Yep I'm definantly going to change the bars. I'm a big fan of Drag bars, thinking about getting the lucky Dave's san diego bars.
Great video. Just signed the papers on my used 2019. Fortunately the previous owner had changed the derby cover. Thanks to your video I will be ordering that flush mount cap and blacking out the upper fork tubes. Did you change your turn signal bulbs to orange when you replaced the lenses? Your bike looks much cleaner after these small changes.
Nice one man. Its a great bike. In this video I didn't change the bulbs out but I ended up doing that down the track with amber globes. I then changed the bulbs to led underperformed indicators which I did a video of on my channel 🤟
Good job. The vinyl on the forks really looks good. I prefer the chrome look. So I would have changed the primary cover instead and the cam cover and transmission cover. I agree with you that the derby cover should have not been chrome if the primary is black. Do one color or the other. It's just a way for Harley to put another tax on us.
Yeah the softail street bob had a smaller tank than the other 19 models like the slim, breakout and heritage. Those tanks however are interchangeable and bolt right onto the street bob.
I believe so but the run in oil from factory according to the harley mechanic is even more light weight than the synth 3 oil. Ever since he changed the oil the bike hasnt had the issue. I've also been told by numerous other street bob owners that after the 1st service the shifting issue went away....... that also suggests it's the oil.
Mate can't remember for the life of me as it was so long ago. I ended up changing the Allen head bolts for heavier duty ones as I found the stock ones were very flimsy and didn't require much torque too break the heads off. Many people on the Facebook streetbob group have had this issue with the stock derby cover bolts.
Mate I just bought some cheap gloss black vinyl off eBay. 12 months later and the vinyl is still holding up really good. Here's a link. www.ebay.com.au/itm/192601723157
Hi, nice mods!! I just want to ask about the black sticker part, how did you avoid the brake line grip that touch the left fork on the left side? Thanks you.
Great mods just picked up my new street bob today. Are you a mechanic as not to sure if I am confident enough to tackle forward controls. But you make it look so easy, also went to stealership to get flush fuel mount with the part number you supplied they said that would not fit my bike,
Dont listen to the stealership haha That fuel cap definantly fits mate. I can understand why they would say it doesnt fit as it's not made for the street bob but as you see it certainly does. Also nope I'm not a mechanic, the forward control install isnt too difficult. Just take your time and you will be fine 👍
Replace that seat with ansaddlemen step up seat. You’ll thank me later. Love the look of the blacked out upper forks. And smoke turn signal covers. I think I’ll do the same.
Hey mate If your in Aus you will be able to buy it from the frasers motorcycle website. If you're not in Aus type the part number 63134-10A in Google and it should pop up 👍
@@andy_andy_andy_andy I've heard people say there is a sticker which comes loose under the drive belt guard which rubs on the belt and causes a ticking noise. Maybe check that.
@@infiniteg7852 I just used a regular wrench, but be careful because those bolts don't take a lot of torque before they will snap off. I replaced them with heavier duty ones.
Have you had any issues with the flush gas cap? Harley parts guy told me they don’t work properly on Street Bob, but fitment on yours looks spot on. Thank for the vids!
@Rick Castillo nope havnt had a single issue with the flushmount cap. Harley told me there wasn't a model specific flushmount cap for the softail street bob yet. So I went with the sportster fuel cap. It isnt %100 flush probably like 2mm raised but overall I'm stoked with it.
I know this is an old video, however, a tip; if you put the affiliate link of the items you purchased you get some money for the items you helped sell. Or not, up to you homie
Great bike love the mods!! Trying to do the minor ones on mine as well! 1st thing how did the lights look afterwards turned on? 2nd where did you get the vinyl from. 3rd have you really had no issues with the fuel cap? I've heard that there were. Thanks if you cant answer back its AoK.
@Sal Salinas thanks mate. The blinker lights were still bright enough to see however I later bought orange globes as the stock globes are clear. I purchased the vinyl off ebay which was very cheap. And I didnt have any issues with the stock tank cap however I have been told the stock tank cap rattles after a few thousand kms. I changed the tank cap as soon as I bought the bike. I put the black flushmount tank cap on for aesthetics.
@Edward Weiszbeck thanks mate, appreciate your comments. Because the rear turn signals are a sealed unit I'm unable to put smoked lenses on like I did with the front. I will have to purchase smoked LED indicators in the future but they are alot more expensive then the lense covers I put on the front.
Good to know the shifting issue it was a simple fix. Amazing how a little vinyl transforms the look of the bike. Great videos.
good to hear that the problem was fixed, keen on seeing the next video
@gooface thanks man. Next video will be out in a few days.
I love the beard and the bike, especially the black on the bike. 👍

Nope that wasnt me mate, I think street bobber vlogger had that in a video. You can buy it from the rogue rider industries website though.
Rogue Rider Industries makes really good LED turn signals
