Buying a new street bob in the next few weeks, left a deposit today on one. This is one of the first things I’m doing 👍 also I’m In Bridgwater if your ever up for a ride out 😉
Thanks for this. I have the vinyl just waiting for the garage to warm up! Do you cut the vinyl fractionally oversize and shape when warm? Just thinking how to avoid a hairline gap at the tops and bottoms if that makes sense? Thanks again.
edwelld yes so 16cm is actually about 2mm over sized on my bike so I fits perfectly when heated....BUT getting it square to wrap around perfect is tricky and based more on luck than skill 😂🤷♂️🤘
I did this the other day, changed the look of my 883 greatly..but then I just put the gauntlet fairing on and it covers 80% of it up lol but you can still see it from the side
A face to go with the voice on this one !! Have you ever thought about removing the fork boots I have seen one with them off looks good but I am on the fence about it don't know if I would do it
If you undecided leave them on. I've always questioned why they are on there, my day we called them gaters and were installed to protect the oil seals and stanchions because they were produced in lesser quality and also if they had already perished to hide that. The stanchions were cheap chrome plated and would pit flake very quickly and perish the oil seals and or oil seals deteriorated because of the poor quality of the rubber. But that's before today processing and materials Harley may just have the gaters on the streetbob just for looks but to me it reminded me of the day's off installing them to hide fork seals leaking and rusted stanchions.
For me I like them on...I’ve seen them off on other bikes and is does look good, but I think the chrome contrast on my bike might look out of place. If your not sure keep them. I think if you are going for that stripped down bobber look it will work. 🤘
CreedX360 I like the gators...I’ve thought about it but like the look. Pretty sure they are there just for show and don’t actually serve a purpose, so removing them wouldn’t be a big deal? 🤘
If you know somebody who works in a sign shop, you can get a piece like that for free,or go look in their garbage/rubbish bin out back and find a piece. Simple quick mod that looks good
Tom rebel that’s about right. I allow a bit of over lap which is hidden out of side on the headlight side. The top and bottom has a tiny overlap so that it fits snug. The first attempt I cut it exactly to size but found matching it at the joins was impossible (hence the overlaps). You could you knife tap, but I’ve never got on with that stuff. 🤘🤘🤘 You gonna give it a go?
Does the bottom peel up when the suspension goes up and down?
awesome! I'm gonna do this with my street bob as well, thanks for showing how to and keep up the videos dude!
Thanks for the vid. Inspired me to do my fork tops on my Enfield Interceptor!

Any issues when servicing fork?
👍🏻 thank you for this video!
Great tip, good cheap custom advice 👍. As ever AWSOME video Ride on 👍
Sweet man. I was wondering if you could do it. Without removing the forks. Thanks
Great vid. Finally got to put a face to the voice. Keep making em brotha. Be safe.
Also on the left fork is a small clip which keeps the clutch cable in place which will need to be removed
How well does this stick? Meaning over time. A year? 2 years? Got some scratched forks from the previous owner and this whould be a cheap fix.
Nice how to vid dude!
Does anyone have any tips for chrome deleting the triple trees/fork mounts?
Was this on the new softtail streetbob?
My favorite part was 2:48 - 2:49
😂

The chrome on my big dog mutt is flaking an starting to peel on my lower forks, could I just sand them down an wrap it with chrome?
gmoney 95 I can’t see why now?
Did you have any creases on the inside?
SO there is an over lap on the inside of about 2mm. But only visible if you really get your head in there and have a look.
Been a year? Never seen you take it out riding on a trip
Would love to see your weekend getaways
Krazed Rider in good time my friend...just waiting for the weather to turn 🤘

Clean Beans!
QU13TM4N I don’t know what this means but WOO YEAH 🤘😂🤘
freaking brilliant my man. I could kiss you... lol
I'd advise taking the headlight off so you can really get behind those forks
Put where you bought the wrap in the description!
That's pretty cool! Have you ever thought about taking off the boots?

158 x 154 mm as I measured it.
