@@lollolol3700 Not really. Most people are concerned that the moderation is gonna suck ass and the sexual problem is only going to get worse. The amount of NSFW accessories, clothing, and games are insane already, but now people won’t even be filtered out through an application (it was awful but this is just a step down, also yes, I know you only needed to do the application for UGC). Yeah, the restrictions will hold back a few people, but what’s stopping the people that already passed them?
If Roblox made a better moderation system before the update rather than just say they’ll “do it later,” a lot of people probably wouldn’t be as upset
im glad the requirements for being able to upload ugc are more strict than initially thought, but even so, this is likely to not go well.

as a clothing designer, if i can’t exist peacefully without some low-lifes taking my content as their own, what makes roblox think their community isn’t going to be mass uploading someone else’s work by the minute now that public ugc is out 😭 the state of the ugc catalog has been pretty bad lately but i fear it’s about to get worse. copyright lawsuit 2.0, here we come!

This would be a great update if it weren't for the terrible moderation when it comes to UGC. Ngl, I hope they get a little bit off legal pushback with the tons of copyrighted material that's likely gonna be uploaded after this releases just to knock some sense into them about the moderation stance more quickly. (Albeit, making sure something like the Audio Update does not happen again.)

Something I find so odd about my account is that I've never uploaded an ID to it, but a year or so ago it randomly ID verified itself. I got access to voice chat, and sure enough after checking I'm able to upload UGC content. Gotta love this platform lol.

this update fucked up ugc limited creators, making a free ugc costs 100 robux per stock now, it used to be 20 to 30 robux before, it costs 10k robux for a 100 stock item

Well, here we go. This is where the fun begins.
I’m wondering just how much online dating, copyright infringement, and other ToS violations we’re gonna see with the inevitable massive influx of UGC uploads. If the current state of affairs is a sign of anything… well, let’s just say my expectations aren’t high.
This does bring one disturbing possibility to mind, and that’s the fact that this is the perfect time to introduce something like the marketplace item policy update that was brought forward (and THANKFULLY quietly cancelled) a little while back. Now that public UGC is a thing it feels like now more than ever is the perfect time for ROBLOX to drop this warhead on us, so to any devs reading this it might be smart to start preparing a contingency - just in case.
In any case, I am interested in seeing how the coming months play out.
Can't wait for Roblox to get tons of lawsuits over the unspeakable stuff players have uploaded.
I mean, look at all the copyright infringement in the UGC-side of the catalog, they're not even trying to hide the names anymore.

Apart from all the bad, there is a good side.
People who have the skills to actually make original very good quality UGC can now make their mark on Roblox, making a little bit of money and improve their skills making items that many people could want to buy, thus making a reputation for themselves on the platform. This will encourage others to follow and do the same.
What I don't want to see is too much gore, bloody fetish stuff and porn items that children might lay their eyes apon accidently, like boobs, feet, etc.
I just want basic funny, gimmicky, good, nice quality UGC. Not the kind of UGC that breaks the ToS and looks like it is from the free models section in Roblox studio.

I think it’s good the rules are strict but the only reason I would make Ugc was to make robux since I can’t pay, but I gotta have a member that costs a lot and would just cover the robux I would need there’s just no reason for me to make ugc or get the requirements

Worst scenario would be Roblox going back to pre-2019, which would be removing UGC accessories all together. But since many, many users have spent Robux on UGC accessories, Roblox would need to refund all of those players, which is easier said than done.
But we will probably see some mild restrictions while creating an UGC accessory, since some people may end up constantly violating Roblox's terms.
And the best scenario would be UGC accessories being just as popular and accessible in comparison with Roblox's own accessories, which exists since Roblox's creation.
my very fair opinion is they are clearly not ready for this at all. i assume the crappy ugc ripoffs were a part of what delayed public ugc and now they bring this change without that issue being resolved whatsoever. they are not helping themselves or anyone else.
I mean it does help someone like me who is competent on 3d modeling and texturing but have no foot hold with roblox developer influence

the positive part of public ugc: me and other people will be able to make their own ugcs to make their characters on roblox if they have some money
the negative part: the ugc accesories catalog will be like the clothing catalog
all we can do is hope that those security features for managing bad ugc will be implemented quickly.
This is essentially a two-sided coin. On one hand, sure, you have the weirdos who just clone existing stuff like legit UGC or Roblox-made items. But on the other, you have people who put in a lot of effort and try to make genuinely good stuff to get in the Catalog. Plus, some games like Hello Kitty Café (yes, I play a Sanrio game, got a problem with that?) are already making their own free UGC events, which partially makes up for stuff like The Hunt. It has a lot of potential, but equally devastating consequences should it fall into the wrong hands.

Something I would do with the type of power UGC gives me is make reasonably priced cosmetics/items that can be combined together or with other things to make you look like iconic slasher/horror villains (Like Jason,Freddy,Micheal and Ghostface)

I feel so bad for the UGC Creators who make original items (like polarcub, bunnexh, etc.) because not only do they spend possibly hours to make the UGC items (depending on what type of item they create I guess) and depend on UGC as a job or income but they also put their time, effort, and/or passion into it. However, other content creators don't make original items, they make copyrighted UGC stuff where they just copy and paste pictures for the faces just like the Dragonball faces. To me, it pretty much feels like pure laziness. It doesn't feel like Roblox listens to the community and they're not even taking out the copyrighted stuff. There are people out there who wanna be a UGC Creator to make their own UGC items (not to copy others' items) because they love and feel passionate about it, but now they are just quitting. I really wish or hope that Roblox would revert back or else they could probably get sued for this just like what happened with the music catalog
