first saw them on entertainment tonight in 1978 when I was 12. my brother bought are we not men. we listened the crap out of that. I then proceeded to buy duty now, freedom, new trad,oh no its,and shout over the next 5 years(I still have all those albums). most people thought we were weirdo's for liking these guys. to me it was cool rock with great beats. eventually saw them with my brother 23 nov 2009 at the Phoenix in Toronto where they did are we not men complete. at that point I felt like that completed my childhood. one of the best concerts I had ever seen and have been to 100's. Might be bias but I don't think they had a bad song in the their first five. I have their early years cd which I will admit is kinda bizarre and really stretching the boundaries for the mid 70's in Akron Ohio. There Friday's appearance is great and so is their 2nd coming to Japan on dvd. Its great to throw on one of their albums and just let er' play.....brings back so many memories.
Those little Japanese girls were not expecting to see a strip show that night. Those outfits came off and they pretty much lost their shit. Then Mark jumps off of the stage to boot. Security must have been like..is he serious?? Watching this also just made me realize that they destroyed 5 of those jumpsuits for every single concert!
I saw them in Providence back in 80' absolutely super duper!! They had their hooks in me when they preformed on SNL in I think 78'? .Proud to be a good little spud and true Devotee!
You can see the security people running around freaking out when Mark comes down to the front row on "Jocko Homo." He normally goes *into* the audience on that song, but not that time. But I guess Japan is more easygoing now, because he entered the audience when they did the song in Japan in '03 (which is also on UA-cam).
You can leave your trailer park in the not too distant future... However, in your case, probably not! Have you even left your current time zone? Oh and IMHO!
They should be in the rock and roll hall of fame...stat!

Long live Devo!
Gotta be the best version of Uncontrollable Urge ever.
Not trying to be argumentative, but my personal favourite version is on "the mongoloid years" - it's here on youtube if you haven't heard it before.
They were so brilliant so great so important
Benchmark DEVO, especially 'Uncontrollable Urge' - completely awesome!!

These guys were professional... no drinking or drugging before or during the show, no way you could play that tight!?!?!?
How do you know? Regardless, these 5 are/were a sped up Broadway play rollercoaster of awareness in humanity.
This a great work out song !

I saw wax replicas in Mdm. Tousaudes in London back in the Eighties.
Como siempre un gran performance en vivo.
I saw them 3 times back in the day. Wish it was 300.
Gotta hand it to Devo. They're really athletic for a bunch of nerds.
a little wider and greyer, but still jumping around like fratboys. awesome live.
That audience went kind of apeshit at the end and I don’t blame them. That was great!
skate or die like a spud boy! Fuck yeah, only one more chromozone!

The japanese alphabets don't correspond to ours. There's no 'd' or 'v' sounds in their language.
