Can you imagine how lucky we were in the UK to have the Two Ronnies and Morecombe and Wise producing genius comedy at the same time during the 70s and early 80s?
2 Ronnies were master wordsmiths. Truly remarkable comedians of their day that stand up by today’s standards of excellent clean jokes(might be a little non PC as the jokes were 70’s).
The word play was just masterful. May they both R.I.P. I still remember "The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town" sketches set in the Victorian era and was a satire of the Jack the Ripper Story that they did.
The Two Ronnie's first appeared on British TV in 1971 Ronnie's both had been in show business since the 1960s now 54 years later the humour and the timing is perfect and their sketches do not age!
I love seeing you react to theTwo Ronnies it's marvellous that they can make you laugh so many years later. My late husband & I saw them many years ago at the London Palladium one of the funniest nights. We were lucky enough to see Dave Allen & Ken Dodd live too great times.
The writer for these sketches was generally just Ronnie Barker, using a pseudonym. He wrote the sketches under the name Gerard Wylie, and submitted them to the BBC, and no one knew it was him for years.
Hi Mike & Jess, as far as I know, nobody has mentioned the classic comedy series "Fawlty Towers". IMO, this is one of the greatest british comedies ever. All 12 episodes are timeless and worth seeking out. Trust me you wont regret it!
Ronnie Barker used to write the scretches under the pseudonym of "Gerald Wiley". He thought people were less likely to be honest about how funny the sketch was, if they new he'd written it.
Really glad I've discovered your channel. As a Brit really enjoy your reactions to our comedy. Jess is such a sweetie and her reactions are so genuine. Subscribed.
As has been stated, Ronnie Barker wrote a lot of these sketches on his own under a pseudonym. It's odd to look at the man who looked quite distinctive and distinguished and then try to tally that with the myriad of different characters he could play, each, totally different to each other and from him. You need to see him as long time criminal, Norman Stanley Fletcher in 'Porridge', Arkwright in 'Open All Hours' and the myriad of different characters he played in The Ronnies as well as in 'Seven of One' and 'Six Dates with Barker' to really see this.
If you ever want a fun show to watch Ronnie Barker has a great sitcom called Porridge which is set in prison it was so popular they even made a couple of movie length features. There is even a video on UA-cam called Porridge the greatest British sitcom.
I'm glad you are getting into the classic Two Ronnies.God rest their dear souls. There was a lot of British themed retail consumerism among the clip. Cox's Pippins & Golden Delicious are apples, but with this and others y,you pretty much seemed to tag along. 'Butchers' is cockney rhyming slang for butchers hook = LOOK. London cockney market stall traders used coded words, often sounding similar to the original word they were intending to use, to hide whatever illegal contraband they were dealing or selling in, from the police. In modern times,if you are up on the cockney lingo, you can just drop the second word on some,to know the meaning
I'm always watching reaction videos, so how on earth when you have over 200,000 subscribers have I only just found you guys? I've been watching your videos for the last 3 hours non stop, and I'm loving them. I have to subscribe because I know much great content there is for you both to still discover.
It's most likely because we were solely focused on music reactions up until around 2 months ago. Due to copyright strikes we've had to move away from music. Glad you found us now friend. We've been enjoying the comedy so much. We're very much looking forward to more!
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 after featuring the 2 Ronnies on your Channel you need to check out Morecambe and Wise who in the 1970s were the kings of BBC TV Comedy Sketch Shows and Morecambe and Wise are an iconic Comedy Duo and there Sketch with Des O'Connor is hilarious and there Mastermind Sketch is a classic Comedy Sketch which you will be able to understand and follow.
i find it wonderful your watching these old legends, i was talking to someone before, how, things never made it across the pond in there, day, but new generations, are loving the british comedy, even tho some of it is close to the mark, but you see it as fun, and not what my cause the PC people to get upset
It doesn't seem as if you've seen the legend that is Tommy Cooper yet. Tommy Cooper Jokes is a really fun one to start with and there is a very special guest appearance.

Classic. Ronnie Barker is one of my all
Time comedians, he’s awesome in Open All Hours and Porridge

The OXO gag is genius and often gets over looked.
@@peterholdsworth4193 yes of course, the fair bit is beautifully slipped in (ooer).
Difficult for Americans to appreciate the oxo joke.
@@darrenw6982OXO is a brand in the US, but looks like they make more food hardware than food products.
@@darrenw6982yes no Oxo in the US and not sure if Cross Your Heart bras were too?
I always love Ronnie Corbett's last line " I've got a fair bit to see to! " :)
The word play was just masterful. May they both R.I.P.

That was what we talked about the next day at school 😀
Written by the great Spike Milligan

they were great shows back in the day....early 70s in New Zealand....British humor 👍
The Two Ronnies: The Ministry of Sexual Equality. This is relevant to current times, even though this was performed in the 1970's.
The cross your heart bra part when little ronnie referenced 'OXO' , oxo is a british brand of beef stock cube.

Please see their ‘Andre Previn’ sketch. Look him up first and you’ll appreciate even more what’s going on!
I would love you to watch the 2 Ronnie's -- Charlie and Bert's Christmas sketch I'm sure you will enjoy it --- Sean (UK) x
There’s an even better Bert & Charlie sketch on “Maily Dotion” - ahem!
THE BORING ACCOUNTANT, REALLY BRILL 😊😊
Great reaction thanks it's a good small world we live in lol.
Hovis is a Uk brand of bread and Fairy Liquid is dish soap !
Great reaction! Please consider *The Two Ronnies - Sweet Shop Sketch* Thanks!

I believe that Ronnie Barker was the main writer of The Two Ronnie's. You should watch Porridge and Open All Hours. Great situation comedies.
Please please watch “swear box” hilarious 😂
Yesss!!! thanks for reminding me about that gem. I'll have to find it again. It came up on my Facebook feed quite a while ago.
I think Jess found it a lot funnier :) it's hilarious.
And Cox's Pippins!
It doesn't seem as if you've seen the legend that is Tommy Cooper yet. Tommy Cooper Jokes is a really fun one to start with and there is a very special guest appearance.
Classic sketch. Try and find an ad on here for Cross Your Heart bra. Then the OXO joke will make sense 😂
Have yuou reacted to the Two Ronnies Swear Box?
I love The Two Ronnies but please check out Morecambe and Wise
Please watch their ‘Norwegian Made Simple’sketch… so clever.
Sorry. Swedish not Norwegian 🤷♂️
You have to check out the Monty Python argument sketch, you will find it funny I promise.
'Dave Allen-religious jokes' might be an option in the future.
If you want to watch something that’s risqué watch
Chubby brown “ 50 shades off brown “
British comedy trusts the audience to 'get it'
It doesn't lead or patronise
SLIM PICKMAN & POLLY PARTON .. two Ronnies please watch its hilarious ..
Ronni Barker wrote a lot of the scripts under a pseudonym so that would be accepted because they were funny and not because they were written by him.
love your channel, i live in Grerat Britain, check out Peter Kay Phoneix nights-phoenix fun day
Try Swedish Made Simple.
You have to watch porridge🤗
