I have the taotronics humidifier. It has all the bells and whistles except no remote. So far it's worked awesomely!!
I just bought one. My old humidifier gave out today, lasted 8 years. I know distilled water will work, but filtered water probably not cause those minerals take a toll on the engine.
Can you smell the essential oil via the humidifier? i dont understand how it works.. Is there a heating element where the tray is? or does the oil blend with the water, in that case why cant see just dump some oil with the water (on some top loading humidifiers).

How long have you had this unit? Ive been searching for one and saw this on amazon and want someones opinion that has been using it for a while. ive seen some of the reviews and a handful of people had said its broken in some way on them. thanks.
stektirade I’ve had it 9 months. Still use it often. I have had no issues with it. I highly recommend it.
does anyone have any trouble with airflow restriction? mine sometimes stops saying there is no water because the water does not flow down. please help.
Use distilled water only. I used other waters and i seen some white residue in the humidifier. Not sure if that is the reason why this is happening to you.

I know you don't use the warm feature but could you try & then add to your review or respond to my comment please. I've used a Vicks warm air humidifier for 10 yrs before it stopped. I decided my next one would be a warm/cold machine to save money buy one machine. Turns out a lot I tried tge warm feature on these machines never got warm & I was disappointed. I don't want to have to buy two machines. Can you possibly test yours out?

Not sure why she was so opposed to even trying the warm feature to see if it worked. People are strange,
do you have any updates on the humidifier i'm urged to buy this model but reviews say that after a couple of months of use if not weeks it breaks

It's to de-scale/de-mineralize the water. As many people use tap water and many are from hard water areas it would help get rid of the calcium build up. I think Levoit advertise these units as filterless but for many you have to replace there pads monthly.
