I like what Kyle Troup said once. He said 1 assymetrical solid, 1 assymetrical pearl, 1 symmetrical solid, 1 symmetrical pearl, maybe a eurothane ball, and your spare ball.

I really like the addition of Andrew. You both work well together and are great ambassadors and teachers of the game! Thank you.

I was at Nationals this year and watched Andrew win the singles. It was amazing to watch! He was going 22 out to 4 and back! Insane.
But...his definition of how Team Pattern played vs. Singles/Doubles is 180 degrees opposite of the way it was for me and my teams.
Teams pattern was a "long pattern" and I could use a strong ball from the right, down and in for the whole set with little change.
Singles/Doubles was a short pattern with tons of hook and flip! It was impossible to use my Teams ball on Singles/Doubles, it just hooked instantly across the lane!
Singles/Doubles played like the Wolf pattern. Super flippy. I sadly did not have a polished plastic spare ball and this killed me on Singles/Doubles because my urethane balls were just jumping across the lane with all that hook. So making spares was a nightmare. I had to aim 5-7 boards right of everything just to hope to hit the spare as the ball took off. 10 pins were almost impossible since the ball hooked so early. Finally after going through all my balls I had to use the weakest polished ball I had and move way right, 6 board, and throw up 6 board and then finally the ball had some control.
Everyone in my five teams got their ass handed to them on Singles/Doubles due to the super flippy nature of the pattern. Some players had to go to plastic just to control the pocket.
So my five teams experience was, Team Pattern played long, straight and smooth, Singles/Doubles super short and flippy.

Thanks Andrew for your insight in preparing for Nationals. I'm gonna have to use this for my preparation for next year tournament.

Not this year, the the lanes down stairs were hooking out out of the building.I laid down at 25 out to 10 in singles, shot 638 with a Results solid and if I get carry with 6 wrap ten pins I'd have been in 4th place instead of a 6 way tie for 97th in the standard division. But that's bowling.

Big question I always asked. How do you per pair for nationals? Since they don’t release the patterns.

I'd, also, have to throw it as good as Andrew, too.

Ok slow speed low rev guy here, obvious need a pearl for length but asym or sym for core? Last time I did well enough to cash in doubles I used the Saber pearl and Destiny hybrid, roughly 3 years ago. This season will be my 1st time back since then. Any recommendations?

I would get a Sneak Attack Hybrid instead of a pearl for length. My pros shop drilled it specifically for length and it just hits a 90° straight over once it gets 55 feet down the lane
