For anyone who might be confused with trying to get your pen to draw/write on the canvas instead of dragging the canvas, you would need to go to the software you have downloaded for your tablet that's connected to your computer and go into its settings of the tablet's pen and check mark, "windows ink."

hey, thanks for the tutorial but can you please help me with the eraser settings? my eraser is really very small and I cannot find an option to increase the size of the eraser, what should I do?
There is no way to adjust the size of the eraser. The strokes in Mental Canvas are a unique combination of raster and vector data so the eraser is not a standard raster eraser. Instead, the eraser is essentially removing a point in the centerline of the stroke and cutting out the width of that stroke at the point. In other words, the eraser is always the size of the stroke you’re erasing.
Mental Canvas is an app that you can download on Windows or iOS. Check out the FAQ on our website to learn more about the hardware recommendations/requirements
Currently we don't have that feature, but it's something we're considering for future development. For now, you can always import PNGs of shapes if needed.
i got a problem about the drawing, i cannot draw even i switched the settings to draw mode, is it an error? i use iPad 8 and my pen is STY-001 (stylus)
Mental Canvas only works with an Apple Pencil because the interface uses a combination of touch input and pen input to differentiate between drawing and navigating. Any other stylus is a "passive stylus" that simulates the touch of a finger, so it is not recognized as pen input and will not work.
Please let me know how to Zoom in and zoom out using Mouse in Windows 10. I've tried with Mouse scroll and it is not working with my drawing in Windows10. Please help

hello, thanks for this tutorial but... I just don't have all these settings on my Mental Canvas app, and whatever I click on, I only am able to draw something and that's all..... Is this normal ?
An "active" stylus is required because the software uses it distinguish between pen input for drawing and touch input for navigation. A "passive" stylus simulates the touch of a finger which will not work.
@@MentalCanvas normally apps have an option to toggle between active and passive stylus. Passive stylus users use gloves that stop the bottom fingers from registering.
Mental Canvas currently only works with an Apple Pencil because the interface uses a combination of touch input and pen input to differentiate between drawing and navigating. Further, the combination of pen and touch is a crucial part of the user experience. We are looking into alternatives for those without pens.
Mental Canvas requires an "active pen" to be able to distinguish between pen input for drawing and touch input for navigation. For this reason, the Apple Pencil is required for the iPad. On Windows devices there are several "active" pens that will work, depending on the device.

It would be much appreciated if u guys atleast add an erase tool. Other than that I think I'll be fine. But just saying, the iOS version seems better and I'm in no position to just buy an iPad.
The Windows version does not lack any features in comparison to iOS and there is an eraser: typically with Windows pens, the eraser is on the opposite side of the stylus (like a pencil) or it’s a button on the side of the pen. If your pen does not have an eraser you can use the “E” key to toggle between drawing & erasing. You can always email us at support@mentalcanvas.com if you have questions.
