Oh wow nice mess up.
Love this mic. Nice clean sound with zero self noise and without filling up the whole desk. It even has a clip monitor and a jack for monitoring yourself. It's also smaller than it looks on video.
Hey Hareth! Your review has been very useful for me. Thank you so much!
thanks for your review i really apraciate, help me to choose
this was very helpful. thanks so much
Thanks for this great review! Really clarified the different modes for me, I think I'll have to get this now. Seems like an excellent fit for home music recording.
Good, straightforward review. Thanks. I bought the Go Mic on Amazon this week for $39.00. I've been testing various settings to find the right sound for the elearning videos I'll be producing later this year.
i have two of these. have used for production, voice tracking and more when away from home. they are great.
loved the organic review. Thanks man, very useful.
Nice review thanks
Soon to purchase...thank for the info
Love this video! Thanks for explaining the difference in setting. :)
Really nice review, and it defiantly made me buy this for myself. Thanks
thanks for review....sounds nice
Thanks for making the video
thanks for the review....
Great Review I'll be going with this instead of the blue snowball.
Thanks for this review! I am unboxing mine right this minute as I watch your video, LOL.
I have read a lot of good reviews about this mic, so I decided to pick one up this evening. It is very well packaged, like you said. Very cool little mic! Now I'm off to give it a test of my own.
Again, thanks for the review. Well done.
Rick
got it and like it a lot, back to podcasting for me soon
Nice Review dude! keep it up
Need something for field recordings and other stuff. Guess I'm going to start with this. Thanks for the review, really appreciate it. :)
No problem, I love it.
The phone call made this review funny. Thanks, been thinking aobut buying a mic, might get this one.
awesome run through.. wasnt sure to get this or the blue snowflake mic but your video sold me on the go mic. cant wait to recieve :)
I just got one of these, they're great.
Cool review!
I was planning on buying it! :D Yay!
Sounds and looks like a great mic! Thanks so much for reviewing.
P.S. I laughed SO hard at 3:42 !!!!!
thank you for the quick reply :P
this thing is awesome
Just bought it on Ebay for $36 bucks, thanks for the review, you convinced me
Yup I'll be getting this mic' in a few days.
Sweet review, i might get one in the future to record something or use it for vent haha. Great work man, kudos!!
Thank you!
3:28 "Oh and if I say "PFH" *rip ears*, there's like a P popping"
Im getting this mic I ordered it yesterday! :D
Thanks for the great review, I plan on getting this for recording vocals and instrumental and its greatly priced for a 17yr old like me without a job haha
@UnderTheAttic Thanks, you are super helpful!
Excellent review. I used to have the CO1U and it works great, but I moved to Hong Kong and left it behind. It sounds like the go mic will do mostly all that the Very LARGE CO1U does...and the added benefit of monitoring in real time.
@PotawatomiThunder EXACT. It has a built in soundcard. So no lag regarding monitoring.
I like boxes too.
haha, nice review thanks!
I missed the silence test, did you do noise removal? it seems not, and it sounds great
People in general who look up reviews aren't stupid. They basically want to hear how the mic sounds. And this is an Unboxing as well thus me explaining how the mic was packaged. Knowing the price is irrelevant because prices on stuff like this change withing days. And it is very different on different websites. And I explained the basic functions of the mic such as the cardioid and omni directional patterns. You get it. I got the basics down.
Cheers for the review. The dropping of the mic followed by the "shit!" earns you a like from me.
Hey there nice video. I was wondering if you know if this mic will work with adobe audition on windows 8?
I just received my CO1U today. I only paid $51 total (shipping included) from Amazon. So if you can't find this Go mic online then try looking for the next one up, the Samson CO1U.
Samsung makes great products so either mic should suit your needs.
I'm a little tight on budget, but I want to try out either this mic or the Samson C01U USB. I mainly want to use it for recording vocals and guitar. When it comes to other instruments, I'll probably work with virtual instruments, since that mostly saves time for me. But what mic would you suggest?
sound man im deffonatly getting this microphone i feel its a good on to start with
Yes. I use it with my mac. It's a plug and play so it will likely work on all computers and OS'
thx for this video!
from Germany, AdlerTimbo
thank you. just wondering how this would work to record vocals standing up, because it wouldn't hook on to a regular mic stand. What do you think?
yeh for the pop get an air filter and if you dont want air then make sure your in a small closed room thats not too open and u should be fine the samson seems to handle air verry well
Thanks for the review dude....but can you install that software on more than one computer do you think?
hey just wondering but can you leave the mic on the desk to record yourself? or is the gain not high enough? cuz i heard it cant fit on some thick desktops.. and its a usb mic right? thanks!
Hello this is my first time using one of these and I was wondering how do you capture the audio??? Thanks.
you need audio recording software... like windows audio recorder, adobe audition, etc.
i bought one of these but theres crackling and static in the backround when i record? any suggestions of why this occurs?
The Multitrack seemed pretty cool but would it work on windows 7? I mainly use audacity for voice acting, so I'm not sure if the other 3 are really what I need. The multitrack one definitely seems like it's worth looking in to. Thanks!
@MODCraftCAST
It's pretty decent. Not "high-end" mind you, but it will get the job done. I have made several videos on my channel using this mic. For such a tiny mic, this thing sounds great!
The box is even better than the microphone itself.
To record yourself, you can use an editing program (like Audacity
-10 db is the saver. buying this
+Prophis Forgive my belated comment, but _what exactly_ is the benefit of having a -10 dB input? Unfortunately, I pretty much know nothing about audio engineering, so I can't figure it out.
thats what pc input is.
I have one of these, just trying to configure it to sound the best.
Hey man thank you for the review! Question! I am broadcast journalism major and I bought this mic for the purpose of recording my voice track and recording the people I interview but I noticed that you need to have a USB cable plugged in to turn in on. If I am interviewing someone for a story, I won't have the ability to plug the mic in somewhere. You said you got it hooked up to your HD camera, which I have as well. Can you explain how you hooked the mic up to the camera? Thank you!
Hello UndertheAttic. I like your Video, because you pesent the mic completely. But I miss a conclusion in the end, where you put all the facts together and show strong points and weak points of the microphone.
Personally, I like close-micing myself in Omni-directional mode. The handling noise, is much lower, along with the proximity effect and air noise (not completely gone but greatly reduced). Basically if I record voiceovers, I tend to have it on omni, I have a "foam ball-windscreen" (about $4 at thesource/radioshack) sitting over it, and I am close enough that my lips are almost touching the windscreen. Cardioid tends to sound too muddy in my opinion.
"Ok, that's not a text message that's a phone call"
Mixcraft, Ntrack, Kristal. Are all very easy to use for begginers. Multitrack recording for begginers.
@amazingshotz Of course you can!
Well the snowball is great too.. But I would go with the Snowflake, because I look for portability since I have a laptop.. But you won't see THAT much of a difference from either one. I mean there is a difference.. But its slight and highly undetectable by the naked ear :]
I'm thinking about getting this mic for vlogs and reviews. Whats your opinon?
@drshadow89 Not at all.. It has a built-in sound card. So you are good to go.
Silly boy. It's a really amazing microphone and the sound is fine here.
@SuziScandalous They are both very good, but go with the Blue Ball.
Hope you can still answer a question about this old video but can you plug your green audio plug from your headset into the port on the Samson go mic?
Yes i do
@jasonbournetodie Agreed 100% I got this mic for it's portability and that's what I got. It's not half bad either.
@AlongTheBoat Samson co1u no doubt. It's also more expensive.
@TheJakeSta999 yes it coms with the mic bolt
Is this a good microphone for recording electric guitars?
@meekmill55 I looked it up and it was written that it could be used for recording and podcast. It should work pretty good
I don't use cakewalk. I use Mixcraft 4. But make sure you set yer computer to record to the GO MIC.
@ACEBOOM06 Sure! It's a microphone. It's decent. Don't expect "pro" quality from something that costs like $30 right now..
also do you have to plug this in to ur computer to record or wat?
Is it good if you record songs? o: like covers ?
Mine didn't work, must have been faulty. Light didn't switch on and it became very hot very quickly. Swapped it for Blue Snowball.
Hey, that distortion noise you pointed out, pls is there any way one can fix that? I would like to use it for a hobby rap
can this be used without a computer right away for like recording purposes, or does it need to be plugged in to like a computer or ipad2 record
?
Do you think i can use it for Lets Plays?
Good move demonstrating the P and the B but that can seriously damage the diaphram of the microphone. Use a pop shield :P
Brother. I recently bought this mic for recording vocals and guitar. Firstly do you think it is a good choice? yes i dont have a studio or anything... just home recording? secondly can you suggest me some good softwares for the mic? I use windows7 i just plugged it in n tried recording with windows recorder, thr is so much background or i dont know what.. the sound is all like "sssssssssssseeee" HELP me please? :)
Does it have a good quality?
Is there any way to record in stereo? I have one and it only records in mono. That's ridiculous. Stereo is the standard nowadays. I'm very disappointed with it. If you know anyway to turn it to stereo please let me know.
You can change in sound settings in windows :P Normally it's aroun 20-50/100 so you can almost always get higher sound :D
Oh wow, nice mess up.
hi,im planning to use the go mic to do vocal/instrument overdubs using acid pro and adobe audition. would i be able to hear the existing backing tracks during playback/recording via its headphone out? thanks and more power
-10 sounds really great :D
Can you use it for recording drums?
how do you record with it? cuz i just got it, and im having trouble with the cakewalk music creator program. its not letting me record. thanks.
you should use the disc that comes with it to make an intro for your videos
thumbs up so he can see
