  • Today we search for my mother's village located on the outskirts of Battambang. It's been over 40 years since she left, so the landscape has changed quite a bit, but surprisingly, she runs into someone from her childhood. Who leads us in the right direction.

    See how beautiful and humble family back home are .... in most cases they don’t want what you have , they just want love ... this video put some tears in my eyes ...

      Depends on where "back home" is. Some countries they want the shirt off your back and the sneakers off your feet. And if you don't give money then "no money no love."

    Late comment: I'm happy to see that your mom get to see her native homeland even after 50 years. You can see she wants to cry. My mom left Srok Khmer at the age of 10 years old and she went back to go visit Cambodia like 30 years later. She was sad to see everything different. Hope you and your family get to visit Cambodia often. Would like to see your kids reaction to Cambodia.

      I love meeting Americans when I'm in Cambodia. There aren't too many. I guess we prefer Central or South America. I see quite a bit of Europeans and Aussies. TOO MANY Chinese tourists.

    • @saviyou
      @saviyou  7 років тому +1

      Phantom 4 is a very capable drone...but would much prefer the portability of the Mavic. I would have more drone footage if I had a drone that was smaller. Carrying around a huge bag for the P4 was not always a good option.

    His momma looks more well fed than the Cambodians and she doesn't look , .... um. stressed out.
    She looks a lot younger than compared to her friend. ........ ALL of the U.S. Cambodians are so much more well fed and taller.
    Speaking about village sounds, Back in the 50's and early 60's
    In my old neighborhood, West Side San Antonio, Tx. north of Las Palmas Mall
    you would always hear Chickens and Roosters and Peacocks. Not anymore. City ordinances > Phooey.
    Damn, I have a cushion on my bed like that old woman has.
    Cultural differences American Cambodians DON"T sit on the ground.
    Those people hustle, trying to make a buck. .... Prob no steady jobs.

      Robert Garcia I really love seeing villages around Asia and Africa. The people, though dressed in more modern attire, still live very simple lives. The influence of Christians and Muslims aren't as potent as they are in other parts of the world, and this is truly a beautiful thing. People must work and live as one multifaceted being for the success of all. The Greco-Roman/Jew/British way is to diminish everything Natural, in favor of an unnatural way of life. Is American life better? In a few wats, yes, but ultimately, hell no!!!

    Seriously, how do I start my life again in Cambodia? I left since 2000. My mom wants to go back and live in there again . I have two night clubs, two karaoks, three hotels, and 2 restaurants in Cambodia. But I can't seem to start a life in there again. Don't know where the hospital at, don't know how much can you make with salary.

    • @saviyou
      @saviyou  6 років тому

      Wow with all those business you should be set up to live in Cambodia, just need a place to live...maybe rent a condo in PP? If you need to work, look at American companies or the US embassy, they always need good english/khmer speaking skills in the Capitol. You probably won't make more than 20k per year but you don't need much to live if you are single. I think the best way would be to work in the US, work remotely or work for 6 month and live in Cambodia part of the year. You could also start your own internet cafe if you have enough money...many khmer don't have home computer yet and live in small space at home so they spend more time out.

    Do these villages have running water? I ask out of curiosity because I have seen pictures and the other side of Cambodia where it’s I guess nicer and they seem to have running water

    • @saviyou
      @saviyou  6 років тому

      These villages usually have pumps and wells, so yea...kinda? I did notice that even with water in the bathrooms, some people still brush teeth and bathe outside. In the touristy areas, of course they have more modern facilities. There are areas where there is NO running water or electric.
