The best part is that there is no rigid pattern to his moves. He just improvises around different styles; does whatever he feels. He is like a kung fu master of dancing.
He is the baddest dancer and singer that I remember. I grew up with him we all tried to dance like him.. still have to try..ha, wish he was still alive😞 Canellas
James Brown looks like he just danced to what he felt in his soul at the time. Amazing rhythm from head to toe. loved dancing to J Browns music. Funk and soul to the core. He did this long before there was the moon walk. awesome!
What a work of pure ART. Prince, MJ, Chris Brown, and all the others really got their dance moves from this MAN. I just thank God that he was given the opportunity to be with us and to leave behind just a legend. Love you Mr. James Brown,

Ok, i came here to watch James Brown's moves dance and people is always comparing him with Elvis or Michael Jackson (if you called him ''Wacko Jacko'' you are a totally ignorant and a press kid). They are three different artists, Elvis was a talented guy with a beautiful deep baritone voice and charisma, James Brown was a natural dancer and Mr. Dynamite!!, Michael Jackson was a very talented guy and he always said that James Brown and Fred Astaire were masters for him, he inspired his moves on street dance and of course, from the masters and black dancers.
James Brown had it going on. He had the same athletic body like another one of my favorites, Jackie Wilson. Thank you for sharing this with us. So glad I saw him at the Old Howard Theater in D.C. in the 60's.
Michael Jackson copied many of his dance moves directly from James Brown but also invented some of his own, of course. I'd say James Brown is Michael's daddy when it comes to dancing.
Mr.Brown: the Godfather of Soul; whether it be Hip Hop, Funk, etc. The old school. Thank you for showing us Soul, and giving us the blueprint! Much respect... 👍✌👌☝️💯❤
WOW! That's all I have to say. James Brown was a fucking revolution. His music and movement hits you right in the soul man. He energizes your every cell. I won't be able to sleep for the rest of the night now so that sucks but it's okay cause I'll just listen to Mind Power, The Boss, Down And Out In NYC and many more by the Funky One.
Wow! Where have I been all my life? James Brown is Dance God. The hand shaking thing at about 1:20 is perhaps the origin of Thriller. And Elvis was a poor imitation! (Though I love Elvis). Michael Jackson and Elvis were of course gods but this man is the magus, mustard, motherload. He does those moves Jazzily, without preparation, from the soul.
+timtak1 And Elvis' wasn't from the soul? It's not like he spent hours in a dance studio working on his moves. Think again before you take another jab at the King.
Sorry...I am sure that Elvis put his heart and soul into his dancing, which I love, but I am feeling having seen this video that, as is often claimed, the King was a tad derivative. But then, I am sure that James Brown was influenced by someone. James Brown was influenced by his preacher and Gospel singers apparently. Perhaps God is the ultimate source of all inspiration.
+CooManTunes Elvis died on the shitter. BFD. He couldn't polish James Brown's shoes let alone dance. A bunch of karate kicks on stage like a fucking moron. Michael Jackson? LOL! He didn't even own his own damn nose much less any dance moves!
+CooManTunes Perhaps we may allow that the King was the best entertainer but James Brown was the best dancer? (I bet there have been other great dancers since.... please inform me anyone). I like Elvis's karate kicks :-) But, in any event, I think his dancing was not anywhere near as good as that of James Brown. Michael Jackson probably did not "own" his moves, but he was good though, like Elvis he was a great entertainer. Did James Brown invent ("own") his moves or were they something that many others did less well before him? I have seen a moon walk video where a whole load of other guys were moon walking, well before Jackson. And are black guys genetically better at dancing? They seem to be better at running. Are they worse at swimming and cycling or is that just a function of who has the bikes and pools? Black people may be better at everything!
+timtak1 Black people may be better at everything? LMAO!!! What a terrible joke, you clown! James Brown was the last true original, but it's a FACT Elvis is better than anyone before and after him when it comes to looks, moves, charisma, voice, kindness, generosity, etc. The list goes on and on and on and on and on. He was the complete package and that's why he's called THE KING.
"James is my inspiration in life, he is my hero............... I got to put all his dances mixed up with my own....... #BigSmokeOG The very Best Rapper, singer, dancer, actor and entreprenuer of thiz Generation coming Soon!!! May the world look out!!!!"
Just Wow.....wow......wow....in the top of soul songs and dance. The best....R and B songster and dancer of course. Today,,,,if you want to do a quick work-out just put James on UA-cam. You can do a two song workout and never feel it!
James brown was the man then came MJ and they would shut the dance floor down and broke so many barriers for blacks and I love and miss them both I could only wish to move as they did. MJ learned from James brown and always showed him respect rest in peace two legends
Michael Jackson was one of the worlds greatest and most talented entertainers. He came from time of choreographed dancing and yes he was the best around. James Brown 's dancing looks spontaneous and from the bottom of his soul. Those legs just moved to the beat and what endurance . When he was older and couldn't do the fancy dancing much anymore, but still had the voice; he brought a show = still was an awesome concert.
I wish in the movie they would have captured all these moments in this clip -- I don't think they quite captured the man's evolution. They could have had the actor re-create all these snippets and whiz through time in a montage; it would have given the full impact of the GFOS's full-impact on the music industry. I think they missed the essence of the band, the magic of how they used to swing, dance, and twirl their trumpets. They over-emphasized James' micro-management and ego. I now it's hard to squeeze in 50 years of soul & funk but he did have a deeper impact on R&B -- he brought soul mainstream; invented funk; he inspired rap -- he was a complicated man but just needed more props. But you have to empathize with the producers -- who can play Soul Brother Number One besides Jimmy himself? And how do you keep a movie to 90 minutes for a man whose life was history, a comedy, and dare I say, even a tragedy? Christmas 2006 will always be a sad day. RIPGFOS.
Eric Cooper why you getting off topic??? You are the same thing of what you hate you are a black KKK member fucking hypocrite hates racism treats an entire race like they were all racist.Your the one here saying racist insults.
