Has Starbucks approached you for a sponsorship deal yet?
Excessive talking doesn't makes a bad place good.
nahhhhh im okay mate
Almost $3,000 for that is what's wrong with the housing market
fr Im living in the center of vienna (capital of austra) in a bigger apartment for $160 tbf tho its prolly worth like $600-700
@@Rjean-paul Yes, but isn't Vienna almost exclusively social housing? It's very different from most cities.
@@holygooffNo. Vienna is routinely ranked the best city in the world. The public transit definitely is the best. Beautiful architecture, ancient and stately.
@@Rjean-paulI paid 440 EUR a month for a studio in Heidelberg with all utilities and even internet included.
@@eustacemcgoodboy9702It's not like I can just pack my bags and move to Vienna though. Nice fantasy but not in the cards for most americans.
I would have LOVED an apartment like this when I lived in NYC! Still crazy to me how jacked rent has become since my days there in the 90s...
Yeah jacked rent but inflation is damning
I hope Cash and his fam, NY'ers and NJ are safe from the floods! It rained couple of days ago here in the Midwest. But not like what you guys are going through💔
4:25 "Child doing the keyboard" ... TOO CUTE !!
I can't imagine living anywhere that $2800/mo for a flat is considered 'affordable.' I live in the Midwest where that amount could easily put me in a 4000 sq ft house in not quite 10 years! I do find your videos informative, as you have a perspective on what is going on in New York and other large cities that makes me quite happy to be in the Quad-Cities, where I can breathe!
But you have to live in the Midwest! I’m from there and escaped
@@ellenfoster9764 this is right the most exciting thing is going to Walmart or driving around looking for popcans on the side of the road
@@ellenfoster9764 I moved to the midwest from SoCal. There are things I don't like, just as there would be anywhere, but it's relatively peaceful, inexpensive, and blessed with actual seasons. Also I'm a literal 3 minute drive from the lake.
It's like....pay almost $3,000 for a small apartment or $700 for a house, if you have a mortgage. We don't, just property tax. Three bed, 2 bath, attached garage 3 minute drive from Lake Winnebago.
If you live in the middle of nowhere, then the housing market will be much more affordable, but this is NYC. It has everything thing here: broadway shows, Times Square, Wall Street, manhattan, etc., so that is why the market is relatively high. I have lived here for nearly 20 years, and trust me, you won't find another city like this....
This is Gonna b so Insightful CJ🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Friday😀….
Cash -- hope you are OK with all of the flooding. Thinking of you and your family!
Thank you! Yes no issues just train delays
Not bad at all, the windows in the bedroom are the best feature by far.. Also, that kitchen isn't horrible... This would be a great starter apartment for a couple.
NY Rent is outta control ✅
That rent could get you a super nice place nearly anywhere else
@@Chaoslordx13 Agree 🙋🏽♀️ Toss in central air, balcony, parking & IN unit washer/dryer.
Out of the city!
I understand why the need for rules and regulations, but it acts as a barrier to being able to provide for yourself. This is the type of living they did way back in the Soviet Union, cuz no one could afford anything on their own.
San Francisco, Fremont, and Palo Alto have entered the chat. No where is more expensive than Bay Area California
@@morningmona Wow
Very decent basic apartment. NYC needs more of these.
It's not a bad apartment. But the rent is ridiculous as usual.
I thought so too, at first. In 1975, right out of college, I lived in a slumish walk-up "one bedroom" with the shower stall in the kitchen and the kitchen sink was also the bathroom sink, so keep those dishes washed. Little room for the toilet. I had mice, rats and roaches and lived over a pizza restaurant to the place was over heated. Broken window never fixed, so cardboard cover in winter. One 15 amp fuse, so no air conditioner possible. It was $400/mo, cheaper than any of my friends' places. I always thought it was dirt cheat (but really a slum) I just checked and adjusted for inflation that's $2,280 in today's dollars. This place is not much more and it's clean and "respectable". No separate toilet room. No plaster falling down. It's a great apartment for a young person starting out. New York is a city of opportunity. I found mine.

@@Judge3366Caek is right.

Good to see yhou back showing apartments.
It's a decent apartment, though I think he said the fifth floor, so lets out some of us. There's space in the kitchen for a large rolling counter, and although the bedroom might once have been part of the living room, there's space in both for actual furniture. If the subway and a laundromat aren't too far away, the location looks good enough. $2,850 isn't cheap, but it's reasonable in the ridiculous NYC rental market. This one will get snapped up quickly.
I would hope there's an elevator ?
@@nelliesfarm8473 If there's an elevator or laundry in the building, Cash usually mentions it. Apparently there is neither.
After your lease is up, you can be sure the landlord will jack up the rent. Then you're forced to pay the 'average' for the neighborhood or go through the hassle and expense of moving again.
Please tell me what kind of work you would have to do in New York, in order to live comfortably in this place? To say this is a rich man's city is really, an insane, understatement.
@@ivanj.conway9919 An apartment that costs more than $2,500/month would require a job that pays more than $100,000/year. While there would be city employees (police, firefighters, teachers, office workers, etc.), store clerks and restaurant workers in NYC with years of experience that might be able to afford it, those at the beginning levels could not. Yes, New York City is becoming a place where only the wealthy can live, and those that serve them must live elsewhere and commute in.
Hey Cash, glad to see you got yourself a Ryzen. I use Ryzen too on my 2 Pc´s to work or Game and they are just great. They are also very efficient while Browsing and doing other low-demanding tasks.
WOW! a light in the entry AND an outlet in the kitchen too?! such a bargain your spot is still one of my favorites on youtube!
This is my block! I'm lucky enough to live in an awesome rent controlled 2 bdrm/2ba. :) There is indeed a gym close by on 43rd and 10th (with tennis courts and a swimming pool!)

I love this apartment! I lived in large homes bc I had a husband and 4 children. My husband passed on my children left home and I bought a bungalow. I have everything I need and more a stove with 5 burners and I use one. Now some friends make fun of me and some think I’m beneath them and moved on 😂It makes me crazy/sad one or two people live in a mansion with all that unused space. I’m perfectly happy and that’s all that matters. To much stuff makes no sense!! Live Lovely with Less❤ Thank you for sharing Cash😊
I ❤ your baby girl's tiny hands and fingers! 😘😘😘😘 Adorbs. Glad to hear you and your family are okay from the NY flooding.

I love your sarcasm. I don’t need a place I live in Texas but watch you out of sheer entertainment. Also I love the way you give the news about Ny the flood and so on.
Me too!
I'm in Oregon with absolutely no plans of ever moving to New York but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in what's happening there.
Just like everyone else, I love New York, I'm just not interested in living there.
Maybe if there was an opportunity on a temporary basis.
I own 3 vehicles and New York doesn't seem to be a vehicle friendly state.
It's also not a 🔥💪* friendly state either.
Oregon isnt much better anymore but I'm native.
The Californians and others are who I blame for our 2nd A restrictions.

For NYC, i think the apartment size is good but no way i could walk up 5 flights and have no laundry in unit. Price is high but location is good.
Put a standing closet in the bedroom as well as a dresser, a rolling counter with drawers in the kitchen and a desk in either the bedroom or living room and you are set. Good value for Manhattan.
Let me start liking the video then watching this is a banger for sure💪💪
Fridge door opens the wrong way. Great vid as usual!
That is one of the nicer affordable apartments you have shown. But at $2900, it is 50% of my monthly income. I couldn't enjoy all those nice restaurants in the neighborhood. 😭
So you earn $6000 a month? Go back to your parents & save up so you can buy a house, it’s not worth paying rent if you don’t half to, your girlfriend or wife will understand 💯

So ya, shower curtains can be cleaned.
Technically, if you're not lazy, you just clean it and if you're not too hard on it, it should last a long time! 😉
You can use a decorative outer curtain that should be washable as well.

Proximity to Times Sq is not a good selling factor. I am in full agreement in your Starbucks and Chipotle assessments 😂😂
❤ ur videos and now I want that laptop too lol good job, Cash😂
The rain is foreshadowing the flooding. Now we should see all the basement apts that people warned were death traps and find out if anyone survived. :)
This is the first genuinely affordable apartment that you have shown for weeks! I like it and if I was young (which I ain't) it would be ideal as starter. I'm sure that it will be snapped up real quick. BTW your baby sure has grown, so cute.

congrats on the new sponsor, Cash....and .awesome video again as always!
All things considered, that's a great apartment. I could definitely live there! ❤😊
I love that area!!!
I live in something similar over in Tacoma Washington for $1600 for 440 square feet (same single drawer kitchen) and I'm loving it very much. I like to make the sunnier room the living room/art studio and the darker room to be the bedroom. The darker room would also be good for aquarium hobbyists since direct sunlight makes our tanks gross.
Also, my place, for that size, has a full size fridge, an in-unit washer and dryer (separate machines) and a balcony,
... but your place is NOT in New York City - for many of us, a higher rent here is better than a low rent anywhere else. "New York or Nowhere."
Cash's sneering attitude toward Starbucks makes me laugh
He’s absolutely right
Nice Stor.... Oven. A Storven. I use it as storage.
Love your work, Cash! And love how great a dad you are. You mentioned a little toaster in this segment, I recommend you watch a 1987 movie called “The Brave Little Toaster” with your daughters, a sweet story, for all ages.
Cash, today would be a great day to cover the dangers of basement apartments, or as I like to call them: Indoor swimming pools. :o)
Off topic: Thanks, Cash. I’m better able to evaluate and appreciate my new “independent living” apartment because of your videos. (SIX outlets over the kitchen counters!!!!!)
SB/Chp, so true...U Keep being great! ☺
Nothing about that looked inviting - from the surroundings to the apartment. 😮 Really glad i live where I do and have room to actually spread out and enjoy.
I would sum how make the living room the bedroom. Save the sunny room for the living room.
Hope you and your family are safe from the flooding. Take care
For that price in Buffalo NY you can get a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath apartment with stainless steel appliances and washer/dryer in downtown buffalo 2 blocks from the waterfront with parking included. Hence why I moved from NYC to here.
Wow. We've got a home, summer kitchen and granny suite in five wooded acres, plus a flowing creek for $400 a year.
That apartment stuff looks exhausting.
The street shop commentary was the best video you ever made.
That's a tenement in Hell's Kitchen. I grew up there in the 70s and 80s. The rent back then was about $100 to $125 a month. $3,000 a month now is outrageous.
NY rents are laughable and ridiculous. I feel bad for people who want to live there...
HOPE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE SAFE FROM THE FLOODS IN NYC. PLEASE KEEP SAFE.
I used to work on 35th and 8th!.. I had a freind renting a 10x12 room, lofted bed, in an apartment for $600 / mo, back in 2000.
Good price and good apartment. Rent is crazy here in Canada 🇨🇦
Bc Truedumbo send milions $$ to Ukronazi instead building more houses here 😂
I so enjoy your videos, even though I'm in the South and couldn't imagine living in NY. 😊
I love it when cash dumps on Starbucks. 😂😂
It looks like a three or more floor walk up. No laundry in unit? That’s probably why it is so “affordable.”
Imagine having to carry all your dirty linens down 5 floors to go to the laundromat. On the other hand, this saves on joining a gym.
Rent in NY is correlated to the zip code, and Manhattan is the most expensive zip codes in NY. I'm not saying rent isn't high anywhere else, but definitely expect to pay 5k monthly in Manhattan for a studio compared to a 2-3 bedrooms in East NY for that same price.
wow you got support from AMD and ACER! been watching your content for some time. keep up!!!
Another great neighborhood tour.
(And I would never live above a restaurant or supermarket. Potentially too many little “friends” may visit.)
I lived in midtown 2019, before COVID hit!!
I moved in with my ex room mates. It’s very affordable but with certain caveats since it’s a shared apt. Living room and other amenities are only really accessible at night and there’s this weird rule that you have to scurry off if someone turns on the lights
11:26 get the Clorox branded ones, they are thicker and the one I have does not have any mold on it. Even after four months.
I'd say it's a pretty decent deal, especially given where it's located. The only drawback I see is walking up five floors.
There are 14 under $3K 1BR apartments listed in the E Village. This idea that its $5K for a one bedroom seems to me like the fever dream of a broker fee collecting community and their landlords that are in for a rude awakening when the market bubble pops again.
14, thats great, I'm glad millions of people are not vying for them.
oh wait.......

@@demm6968 Where you live you can get a house for that money - but wherever you live is NOT New York City! Many of us are happy to pay higher rents just for the thrill of living here in New York City. I came here from Los Angeles, and will never leave NYC to go back to LA.

The complete and total regret of moving to nyc in the first place happens in 3-5 yrs.. as charlie pride would say.. "when the new wears off of the crystal chandelier"
Quality of life is nonexistent due to extreme ungabungaism.
What is "ungabungaism"?
I liked this apartment. I still have a problem with the cost of rent in NYC . I just love your wit and enjoy the different areas of the city you are a great ambassador for NYC.😊
For the price, I think this is pretty good. It feels more like a large studio though, rather than a true 1 bedroom.
A small apartment in that area for $2900 a month is super rare.
Still is very expensive but almost impossible to find anything under 3k.
I love your channel. Its given me amazing perspective, and the local news elements fit my needs perfectly. But it also continues to validate my reasons for leaving NYC for good.
The baby is so cute… she’s getting big
Thanks for an awesome video!!
That rent amount is crazy. I thought Ottawa and Toronto was bad. Time for a protest. Don’t know how you people survive. I rented a garden apartment in Brooklyn many many years ago temporarily with another girl. It was small but cheap. Insane🙏
No protest necessary. People are voting with their feet. This will resolve itself - IF NYC can get a handle on all the incoming busses...

It is depressing that this is considered ok for 2800 bucks a month... the lengths people go to just to live in NYC. I feel like at this rate in 20 years people will be advertising a broom closet for 10k a month and trying to paint it as a normal living space
As ever, great content.. So, 09:40 - that method of lighting a space via another room is called "borrowed light"
stiiiickysss 💖 and during the rain storm lol
For the price of that apartment, I am paying the mortgage on a beautiful home in the Seattle area with a front and back yard, kitchen nook, large living room and office in addition to the one bedroom with en suite bathroom. SO, I'd say, not worth it. There was a time where I would say anything outside of NYC wasn't worth it but I've seen the light. Literally.
Wow you even have a water a d electric outlets... practically a paradise.
NYC is ridiculous! Rent prices are insane and don’t get me started on the inflation rate here so yes I take the first ticket out
I’ve seen UA-cams of people looking for apartments. I wonder what the actual chance is of getting this or something like it. Probably scores of people will try!
But how long will that rent last. Will it go up astronomically with the next lease. If it's not rent-stabilized it's a crap shoot.
So what kind of jobs are paying out $70,000 per year, In order to pay $38,500 in rent??? When the average low wage earner makes $35,000 a year, where do they find affordable housing? Or is that just a fact of life, to having to live with strangers?
That’s actually a decent apartment. Could see myself living there with no issues. Not fancy but has everything you need 👍
Except laundry! And living on the 5th floor is not doable for me. But truly, not bad.
5th floor walk up? No laundry and ugly divided up buildings.
Hi Cash and to your friend I understand NY is lacking renters. I am renting one room for only $950 still not much. Great tour of Times Square NY👍
I’ve just come back from 2 weeks in NY, where I stayed in a friend’s friend’s shithole with roaches in Harlem, and because it was a friends friend the rent was “cheap”, which is my MONTHLY rent back home with utilities included and I live in a fabulous neighborhood in a clean apartment without roaches and a train shaking up the building. I’ve always loved NY but it’s not a place for me because I’m not a millionaire and I refuse to live in such terrible conditions, no amount of opportunities in the world will make up for such inconvenience for such price
It's a great space!!!
Morning Cash kindly leave my Starbucks alone lol. Great apartment great showing!
