Excellent and a fact filled video. Debunking myths and misconceptions quickly and correctly. Hinduism has room for many schools of thought. Not worshipping idols and directly praying to God is allowed. Hinduism has always had room and tolerance for those who were/ are different. Hindu society and religion was been under brutal attack from the 12 th century AD to the mid twentieth century, the worst part being muslim rule from 1192 AD to the mid 18 th century AD. Even today Hinduism is demonized & defamed even when it is the most accepting of all religions. But thanks for a great video 🙏🌹

But I would like to make a point that using idols for worship is prohibited in abrahmic texts and it's their world view, why should it be imposed on other faiths?? Our scriptures don't ban using idols are representative purposes. Obviously we don't consider idol itself is god hence we do ceremony called as pranpratistha or life establishing ceremony where we make object purified to be used for representative purpose.

In Hinduism, Nirguna Brahman is the ultimate reality, formless and transcendent, embodying pure consciousness. Saguna Brahman refers to the divine with attributes and forms that are more accessible for worship. In Shivaism, Sadashiva is the supreme form, embodying both the transcendent (Nirguna Brahman) and the manifest aspects (Saguna Brahman), including creation, preservation, and destruction. In Vaishnavism, Narayana is a form of Vishnu representing Saguna Brahman, maintaining cosmic order and upholding dharma. He is also seen as a manifestation of the supreme, transcendent reality. In Shaktism, Adi Parashakti is the supreme goddess, representing Saguna Brahman with dynamic energy. She is connected to Nirguna Brahman as the source of all creation. In ISKCON beliefs, Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, embodying both the manifest form of Saguna Brahman and the source of all manifestations, encompassing Nirguna Brahman. Thus, while Nirguna Brahman is the formless essence, deities like Sadashiva, Narayana, Adi Parashakti, and Krishna are manifestations of Saguna Brahman, representing various attributes and forms of the divine.

Possible corrections imo; Point 2: Idols are definitely supposed to be gods themselves. After an idol created according to Shastra goes through Pran Pratistha (consecration), it is non-different from the deity. Point 3: Cows are indeed worshipped. According to shastra, the cow's body is home to all devatas. We cannot use the dairy product logic to justify that belief as buffalos aren't treated as holy despite being similar in nature to cows. Point 6: On subservience of women, the Shastra is diverse but clear. In a family, a wife/mother is to be respected but she is to also carry out her duties which include serving her family and maintaining her spiritual chastity. This is true especially in Vedic hinduism. The more Tantrik side of Hinduism isn't as rigid on women and often emphasises their role above that of men. Thats all. Great effort 🎉

As a fellow Hindu i have a few things to clarify: 1. About hinduism being henotheistic..its not that simple at all. Like any other ancient religion, Hinduism started as a no of philosophies and they all tussled for dominance and what we see now is a recent development in the medieval era where devotion took the forefront way of worship. Earlier rituals and tantric practices were much more prevalent. The ultimate reality, Brahman, is so confusing a concept that the oldest philosophical treatises never fully made us understand what it was. They simply urged to find deeper meaning behind the ritualist worship. There were times when hindusim hinged on borderline monotheism in north and south india. Say Shiva worshippers would band and fight against the Vishnu worshippers. It was truly some dark times. 2. Ahimsa isn't a cornerstone of Hinduism. Yes, being evil and naughty is absolutely wrong. People suffer grave fates for such karma. But we must understand a great portion of hindus practice animal sacrifice even today. Its an indelible part of our culture to sacrifice an animal. Buffaloes too were not exempt from this ritual until recently.

It's adviced to not eat by harming other animals. If you need to do hard labour and require strength. You will probably eat meat. Warrior class used to eat meat.
Well the Holy Bhagavad Gita says there are 3 types of food categories, and meat falls into the category of tamasic (foods that should be avoided for good karma and spiritual advancement). So it comes down to the choice, caste (actual practising warriors/army personnel) and karma of each person is they choose to eat meat or not.

The fact that you are ashamed of the fact that Hinduism has 330 million gods and is polytheist shows your own insecurities. What's wrong with having 330 million gods and being polytheist?
No we are polytheists. The belief isn't monotheism but monism which means eventually everything becomes one Gods are eventually different manifestation of one
@sarvathavicharsheel7487 Sorry but your statement only shows the insecurities which many Hindus have. We do have many gods and goddesses and there is nothing wrong with it and it only shows our diversity. Why do we have to constantly compare Hinduism with Abrahamic religions? They are the ones who believe in one mighty supreme being and constantly fighting over it.
@@Kaito028 your assumption of having problem with 339 million gods has an issue cuz the scriptues tell what they are like upanishads tell they are forms if the scripture says so you have to believe it
I'd like to add It's seems we Hindus are idol worshippers but that's an illusion/maya, we worship that one infinite omnipresent allpervading self evident substratum of existence present in every idol/form. in modern science we can call it omnipresent quantum field which creates/manifests every particle, sustains every particle and becomes that in which every particle redissolves. so that source/cause/core of everything plays these 3 roles of creator, preserver, destroyer and shakti/energy. so this is not a system of "belief", these are ancient principles of reality which has been rediscovered. we worship self evident God as existence/reality/truth itself not some human written word/faith/belief in a book. This omnipresent conscious fabric of existence is present in everything and every creature hence we can bow down to everything because everything is manifestation/extension of that one source alone, a stone, tree, pure consciousness in every animal (cow is just one example among many), pure consciousness in every person. Social discrimination of any sort is contradictory to Karma Siddhanta (to avoid causing suffering to others to avoid suffering to be caused on ourselves), (do not do things which you don't for yourself), If there is only one omnipresent allpervading conscious fabric of existence then every idol/form becomes a window for divine. every diety becomes the God. and these principle apply to every non-abrahmic religions too making them true way of life as well. there is endless wisdom but comment will be too long.
@atharvsharma9581 I have never said that I have a problem with 339 million gods. Please read my comment carefully. Plus our scriptures aren't doctrines that you have to follow in other to be a Hindu.

While Nāstika (नास्तिक) refers to a person not accepting Vedas as valid source of knowledge , and Āstika (आस्तिक) is the one who accepts Vedas as valid source of knowledge.

I don't understand why its important to fight the "hinduism is polytheistic claim" so what it is? why do you consider monotheism superior?
Cause abbrihamic shit
No but I think it more so dilutes our own belief systems, it is still important to correct our religious philosophy as even I for a long time didn't know that hinduism did actually believe in a single supreme entity who is the creator...
that is true, but this video was clearing misconception and hinduism is polytheistic is one of the biggest misconceptions. Otherwise polytheism is just as valid as monotheism.
Bcz Abrahamic religion's dominates the world and they want other cults to follow there rules
Hinduism isn't polytheistic or monotheistic... People can be a hindu and be worshipping as many deities or gods as they see fit... Even may be atheist

Excellent and a fact filled video. Debunking myths and misconceptions quickly and correctly. Hinduism has room for many schools of thought. Not worshipping idols and directly praying to God is allowed. Hinduism has always had room and tolerance for those who were/ are different. Gays, transgenders etc. Jews and zaroshtrians were never persecuted in India.
Thanks, Siddharth, I appreciate it. 🙏🏾💙

Christianity forbids idol worship yet they pray to a statue of jesus in their churches and homes, then have the nerve to call Hindus "Idol worshippers" 😂
Thanks for making this video 😊🎉

2. Ishvara (supreme personal God, manifest form of Brahman example: Sadashiva, narayana, adi parashakti and Krishna (supreme personality of Godhead)

Bro, your very first point is TOTALLY INCORRECT.
There aren't said to have 330 million godd, it is rather 33 supreme gods. They are called 33 koti gods, where koti means supreme, but people confuse it with koti means crore which is 10 million.
They are forms of god . They are not GODS .

U have explained it very well . As a Hindu i approve ur explanation 💯

Recently, an idol of Lord Shiva, The Destroyer God of the Trinity, was discovered. It was carbon dated to be around 28000 years old. If an idol was present such a long time ago, you could just wonder how old the religion would be. (Notes:- Hinduism is a foreign term. It’s usually referred to as Sanatan Dharma in India, reflecting its eternal origin and continuity.)

Possible corrections imo;
Point 2: Idols are definitely supposed to be gods themselves.
Truly explained👍🧡
@@gamingwithtrikku2371 pran pratishtha doesn't make idol a god. Pran pratishtha makes an idol dwelling of God. There is difference between God himself and his house. Just like kabaa is called baitullah (house of allah) similarly idol becomes house of God after pran pratishtha
@@indiankid8601 I'm not saying that statue and God are equal but it is from our perspective that they are. In our religion, we give Prasad to idols and touch their feet. We take vinayak to nearby river during vinayak chaviti. Even though we take an idol, we feel it as God himself!

Thank you, people really need to correct their annoying misconceptions.
It's especially frustrating when you try to explain it but they keep refusing to understand and continue to spread misinformation and mock us.
As a fellow Hindu i have a few things to clarify:
Thanks for the clarifications, Aditya. 🙃

We also See idols as Supreme God also as when we do Pran Prathista ceremony before worship and situate them in temples or homes We call these Idols Vighras also which make them different from others and after this ceremony God himself reside in Idols according to Scriptures and we have to pray and do service of That Idols as it is real and God is present there and makes it different from simple or normal Idols and but we have see sacredness in normal God idols of whose pran prathista is done and pran prathista is done mostly in temples and Religious family also and you can worship and See them as Gods also. And yes One more thing also God Himself arrived in different Yugas on Earth in different Avatars and when they came they took different forms Like Shri Krishna Bhagwan , Ram Bhagwan and Ganesh Bhagwan thats why we make idols According to their Forms that they took in Different Yugas .And God himself said in Scriptures that God made us like them only it means God also have same type of design but Supreme God have a divine and different Body and is very different from anyone in the World and is very divine and Supreme God in their Real form is the most beautiful and beyond comparison in the whole Universe and multi Universe and we can’t make a idol similar to his Form You know even the most Beautiful Human is made by God then think How God would be beautiful .From Vighras or Idols we can connect with God easily amd do Bhakti easily and can do service to him being on earth only as we have to do service when we Will get salavation of him and will go to his adove(Dham) and will do service of him after our death.

Well the Holy Bhagavad Gita says there are 3 types of food categories, and meat falls into the category of tamasic (foods that should be avoided for good karma and spiritual advancement). Infact a major part of the idol worship today on festivals was initially started as a way to cover up public meetings which were banned under the British rule
If you read Christian theology you shall find God manifest itself as either personal form (Father or Christ) or Impersonal form ( Holy spirit). We Hindus simply believe if that be the case why not worship a god however one think he /she is - hence polytheism in appearance, Monism in principle
false. The three persons of the Trinity are essentially personal.

The fact that you are ashamed of the fact that Hinduism has 330 million gods and is polytheist shows your own insecurities.
What's wrong with having 330 million gods and being polytheist?
No we are polytheists. The belief isn't monotheism but monism which means eventually everything becomes one
Gods are eventually different manifestation of one
@sarvathavicharsheel7487 Sorry but your statement only shows the insecurities which many Hindus have. We do have many gods and goddesses and there is nothing wrong with it and it only shows our diversity. Why do we have to constantly compare Hinduism with Abrahamic religions? They are the ones who believe in one mighty supreme being and constantly fighting over it.
@@Kaito028 your assumption of having problem with 339 million gods has an issue cuz the scriptues tell what they are like upanishads tell they are forms if the scripture says so you have to believe it
I'd like to add
It's seems we Hindus are idol worshippers but that's an illusion/maya, we worship that one infinite omnipresent allpervading self evident substratum of existence present in every idol/form. in modern science we can call it omnipresent quantum field which creates/manifests every particle, sustains every particle and becomes that in which every particle redissolves. so that source/cause/core of everything plays these 3 roles of creator, preserver, destroyer and shakti/energy. so this is not a system of "belief", these are ancient principles of reality which has been rediscovered. we worship self evident God as existence/reality/truth itself not some human written word/faith/belief in a book.
This omnipresent conscious fabric of existence is present in everything and every creature hence we can bow down to everything because everything is manifestation/extension of that one source alone, a stone, tree, pure consciousness in every animal (cow is just one example among many), pure consciousness in every person.
Social discrimination of any sort is contradictory to Karma Siddhanta (to avoid causing suffering to others to avoid suffering to be caused on ourselves), (do not do things which you don't for yourself),
If there is only one omnipresent allpervading conscious fabric of existence then every idol/form becomes a window for divine. every diety becomes the God. and these principle apply to every non-abrahmic religions too making them true way of life as well. there is endless wisdom but comment will be too long.
@atharvsharma9581 I have never said that I have a problem with 339 million gods. Please read my comment carefully. Plus our scriptures aren't doctrines that you have to follow in other to be a Hindu.
