I'm pretty sure the Gundam 0083 OP was inspired by the original Top Gun too, so it's no surprise that it fits. The main character has the same haircut as Tom Cruise, the love interest looks like Tom Cruise's love interest, the camera angles on the Gundams are similar to the camera angles on the jets, the Gundams launch from runways, and The Winner sounds like Danger Zone but different. Obviously none of the lyrics are similar, but the composition gets really close at a few parts.
As a great lover of Gundam Stardust Memory i can say: Man you catch the feeling of every part of the opening! The sound effects, the pilot lauching everything is there! You do an awesome masterpiece!
In this VERSION of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM I DEFINITELY see combinations in this when back when I was TEENAGER I I'd refer to THIS as the TOP GUN Of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM

Thank you for reminding me how AMVs were an amazing art form from days long ago. This reminds me of an old AMV that UA-cam deleted that of Super Robot Wars anime that was done to Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick. I hope you do more down the line because you made this old soul weep tears of joy.

I love gundam's UC series and gundam wing and I do THE love 1980s classic TOP GUN it's a ride to the highway to the danger zone I would love to see tom cruise play a good guy or bad guy in a real live MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM movie
You can't tell whether there's a good guy or a bad guy. Almost everyone got a reason to fight for what they believe in whether they're agree with their respective government or not. In Gundam, everyone suffers because war doesn't choose sides, it annihilates them both.
I like how you used the original opening instead of the "remastered" one that had different sound effects. I also like how you captured some of the solemn and contemplative moments of the movie instead of just the "hell yeah" moments. A nice fusion of all the feelings I got from The Winner and Maverick.
The Gundam 0083 version of Top Gun Maverick would be 41 years Old Kou Uraki and South Burning's Son battling Mafty, basically Hathaway's Flash in a different PoV

My instincts told me from watching the auto-play from my feed this was going to be a Winner. After seeing the opening for 0083 years ago enough times, it's hard to forget how much it reminded me of Top Gun. Bravo!
@@qbgabe12 it's a tie between the way the catapult shot synchronizes with the music, and the way you edited some of the dogfight scenes towards the end. It really does sell the idea that this is an intro for a TV show.
@@allegedkurd nice one. Catapult shot was cool, but dogfight scenes definitely a win for me, i was trying to recreate "GP01 vs GP02 Kou vs Gato" vibe with limited footage, i wouldn't say a success but with how the video & music end, it is kinda like how op finished in the 90s ;)
