This film was before Gulf War. In 80s Americans rivalries/commies assumed Americans were still as inept as in Vietnam War. This film showed a clue that the US military has been much more advanced than Soviet/commie force. Gulf War was the US dealing the Iraqis from a "higher dimension/tech generation". I used to do cinema service, and on the original release of Top Gun in 70mm film, one theatre I serviced had an incredible sound system. After doing my tune up for this film, the projectionist asked me to start the show. When this came on, the opening kick drums literally hit you in the chest. Two surfer dudes next to me went "Dude, that's sick." When the jets lit the afterburners, it was so loud and violent that the bass knocked some ceiling tiles down in the manager's office. BTW I had the volume set at the normal Dolby reference fader "7" ,, which is how films are supposed to be played back. But I had to turn it down to 5.5 here. Still had lots of punch though.

I think more for the musical soundtrack, as I also listen to that whenever I am feeling down. One of the best soundtracks from a film ever.
I saw the A models at Topeka and on LEXINGTON museum in Corpus Christi. Brought tears at both moments. Tis a sad thing they no longer fly, but they were slow becoming hangar queens considering how much maintenance it took to keep them in fighting shape. I worked as an engineer on the original 777 program in the early 90s. At one point, we were all bussed to a local theater they had reserved just for us where we got a pep talk from the program bosses and a glimpse of what was to come including not one but two new state-of-the-art office buildings. After Q&A, they brought the house lights up and played this as we filed out. We knew we were part of something special.

After I watched Top Gun I already knew I wanted to be a fighter pilot. God had other plans because of my lack of 20/20 vision. I instead joined the Marine Corps. The best decision in my life and I love every moment. I came full circle when I was part of a Marine Corps detachment on CVN-71 Theodore Roosevelt. The smell of JP5 jet fuel, all the various shirts green, yellow and green on deck. I had the best show of watching F-18 taking off and land.
I remember my uncle playing this song non stop after the afghan war (he was a polish soldier) he loved this show 2and now he finished his service and hes retired.

With the A10.
Stealth fighter, F-14!
When this movie came out, I had my first surroundsound TV.
Oh my. It sounded like the jets were in the house.
Loved it.
映画が始まって流れるこのナンバー、ワクワク感が高揚するのに、サウンドトラックには収録されてないんだよなぁ
Best intro movie and song in Cinema history
Wow first time i listen to the “complete”
Opening theme!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
true
The best opening to any movie actually ever...
Top Gun Maverick is the best movie I’ve ever seen.
Sending me goosebumps all over my body... what a movie, what a melody... what a time!
I just saw it yesterday. It is magnificent. Well done Cruise, and co.
Cruise wasn’t gonna come back unless they got Val Kilmer (Iceman) in the movie. He had throat cancer and couldn’t speak. But they found a way to get him in still which is really touching.
マーベッリックでもこのオープニングでした。
感動的でした。
i know a lot of people like the version with the guitar vocals, but this is probably my favorite version of the anthem.
I can't decide which I like more
You know it’s a badass when the deck crew guy is awesome.
Just came back from cinema watching number 2. What a fucking job!!!! Outstanding
The 1st time seeing the movie I was in theater mostly vacant 10-15 people spread out in are own it was quiet gave you chills. That was an awesome experience 😊
Love all 80s soundtracks , the music itself gives a better look to the movie
Feliz daquele que teve a oportunidade de assistir no cinema.
There aren't many films that have an intro that in the first 10 seconds makes your hairs stand up...That very first 'Gong' does it for me each time. Top Gun Maverick was exactly the same feeling!
one of the best opening salvos to a film ever. great edit dude
I saw the aircraft pieces remaining in Ha Noi and museum in Halong Bay in Northern Vietnam. Top Gun is a great way to give the naval aviators the tools to defeat the enemy. May it continue to provide excellence to the US Navy and USMC at both Ocean shores
Thats a dope ass intro
I worked as an engineer on the original 777 program in the early 90s. At one point, we were all bussed to a local theater they had reserved just for us where we got a pep talk from the program bosses and a glimpse of what was to come including not one but two new state-of-the-art office buildings. After Q&A, they brought the house lights up and played this as we filed out. We knew we were part of something special.
One of the best if not the best themes in motion picture history! Great film and music!

I’m going to be really sad the day this movie isn’t in theaters anymore. This is a movie we will all look back on and remember how amazing it was. I’ll never forgot this movie, this is an all-timer for me ⭐️
Don't know how many times I rented the VHS and later, how many times I viewed it in my own bought Copy. Golden Age of VHS!
the greatest intro ever made
Right
I am Korean, I respect U.S navy and army, they sacrificed themselves and saved South Korea during the Korean War
Top gun maverick was fucking amazing from beginning to end. Well done
配信ありがとうございます。カッケーです。ブルーレイ買いました。マーベリックも。
I may be only 15 but it gives me goostbumbs
Me too! I swear I'll be a fighter pilot someday. You're name makes me think that you're a fellow Dutchie like me btw.
I may be only 15 but i breathe
That movie is the reason I enlisted the navy in 1989. The sound track stills gets me emotional.
This is my morning routine!!! I drink coffee by open window and listen this magnificent piece of art while slowly waking up!!! Thanks!!!
I was 16 in 1986. This music and movie live rent free in my head.
Badass! This opening scene soundtrack alone set the tone for the new top gun!
Made me remember 1986 . I get out of school early and we decided to go to see a movie and then was that Top Gun . Installing I fall in love with firefighters planes . I’m glad I have the opportunity to work close to them. .❤️❤️
Just watched the movie... Totally worth it.... Absolutely perfect!!!!!! 🤗
One of the best openings and songs. Even better for myself being a PC(Plane Captain) Brown shirt, Than a "grape" Purple shirt later on when I got to pick up rate. Being on a Flight deck of a Carrier is freaking Brutal and Insane. And I loved every second of it.
Outstanding! Wonderful edited version! Great job! Congrats!! 5 stars!!
