I have this APL leukemia. Diagnosed Sept 9th 2020. Its been a rough road so far but the Drs and nurses saved my life as my platelets were at 7000 only and other blood numbers were as low as can be. Getting treated with ATRA and Arsenic Trioxide with some side affects but managed with dose adjustments. i continue to do 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off treatment. I know its only been 4 months but staying positive.

Hi there. Hope you are doing well. I was also diagnosed with APL on April 19, 2021. By the grace of God! I am alive. I started out bruising and in the hospital they saw I was bleading from my brain. The quick attention to me from the medical staff definitely helped. I'm also 4 weeks and 4 off. I just want to know if you been having an side affects from the chemo? God Bless you.

      Hi there
I did a total of 6 months with the same treatment. I believed that the Lord Jesus Christ had mercy on me. I was dying. Oncologist says no more cancer. Now thanks to God I am in remission since January 2022. I look liked nothin happen to me. But very greatful to the Lord and everyone that help me through that rough journey.

@@davidcendejas2010 so happy to hear you are doing great David! I just got diagnosed with apl this week and I’m on my day 3 of chemo. We’re there any side effects of using the Atra and idarubicine drugs during your treatment? Also when did your hair start falling off?

I just had the opportunity to hear this physician speak to my company about AML. She is an outstanding doctor who is not only an expert in the field but has a wonderful bedside manner.

I was diagnosed with APML in march 2016. I was hospitalised for 5 weeks and 1 week in ICU as I had the ATRA Syndrome, H1N1, pneumonia and a collapsed lung but 9 months later and 63 bouts of chemo (Arsenic Trioxide) later and I was in remission and have been since. I now have Lymphoedema in my left leg but other than that I’ve been incredibly lucky.

Glad to hear you’ve been good. I’m on maintenance therapy for it right now. Also arsenic trioxide is not a chemo.

My friend had APL, they only found it after he collapsed while fighting a fire. He passed two days after his collapse.
