  • Minerva was working as a therapist and on the road to earning her PhD when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Thanks to Dr. Ellen Ritchie and the Leukemia Program at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, she's now in remission and using her cancer experience to help others navigate difficult situations.

i was diagnosed 5 yrs ago at the age of 46yrs with AML i was told i have 2mths to live at no amount of treatment was going to heal me , so after 1 week i decided to get up and continue to work as a rigger continue to have a beer with the boys laugh smile pick people up when they was feeling down and every morning i pray please god if your out there forgive my former self and just give me one more day , there are times i curl up in a ball and cry when no one is watching my message is stay positive yes you may die from this but if every day you wake up its another amazing day where your soul may save another's life by hearing your story

My mother is 64 and bruises and red dots began to show up everywhere, mainly her upper body along with a fast heart rate and fatigue. I took her to the hospital and hours later she was told she’s very sick according to her blood work and she couldn’t leave. I’m devastated and I’m praying for not only my mother but everyone that’s been affected by cancer.
