fun fact: For the transformation scene, production told Nicolas to act like he was bursting into flames and they'll add it in later. Everyone was shocked when he said "Watch this" and proceeded to burst into flames and shed his own skin in real time.
He also chose the name because when he started acting in fast Times at Ridgemont high, he didn’t want his affiliation with his uncle Francis Ford Coppola influence Him getting jobs. Coppola is his actual last name.
The biggest thing about the sequel that i feel was worth it, is the fact it gives more of the back story of the ghost and where he came from. Originally a ghost rider was not a spirit of vengeance for the devil but a spirit of justice for God that was corrupted after the fall from grace.
And the design is improved a lot. Edit: as I rewatch this one, I'll find some more stuff lol one thing that it was done better was to have Johnny willingly sign the contract, unlike the 2007 film.
I mean, the sequel is bad, but the camerawork, the cgi (of GR specifically) and the design were improved so much. It really was a shame that it didn’t have a better writing team behind it. They had no regard for continuity, good dialogue, coherent plot, etc.
Wasnt the spirit tortured into submission/insanity by the devil since it's a divine being so he cant control it otherwise idk been a while since I saw spirit og vengeance
So the part about Ghost Rider often dispatching enemies quickly: That is cannon. The Ghost Rider doesn't really tend to get in to long, drawn out fights with his enemies. It is more about Johnny or which ever version trying to maintain control over the Rider and do good as opposed to just serving Mephisto.
@william walsh Honestly, I am more familiar with Danny Ketch than Johnny Blaze, but I would say the penance stare was faithful. In fact, I think that was a good way to represent it.
@williamwalsh7296es, It was pretty faithful for the most part. There were some changes to make the plot work, Ghost Rider being a bounty hunter is something original for the film, in the comics Johnny pretty much brought it on to himself and was turned into GR as a punishment. The generational GR is also exclusive to the movie. Everything else is spot on more or less.
I love how they did the graphics for the Penance Stare, as well as the mechanics of it. Turning someone's sins around on them and burning out their eyeballs in the process is a worse fate than death, in my mind.
One of the the first Ghost Rider comics I ever read had police meet a serial killer hit by the Stare - he'd joined a monastery to atone for his sins, spoke with a meek stutter, and generally was unable to care for himself. The cops discuss whether it would've been kinder to just shoot him
Ghost rider's character is much like Flash, the problem with the character is that it's too powerful Even if marvel tried to adapt half the potential Ghost rider had of the comics had in the movies, then he'd just easily kill everyone, Kang literally won't even be a threat, so we likely will never get "satisfied" with Ghost rider, but he can be pretty cool if well written

I love that you and Jen are doing the original Marvel movies, and Ghost Rider is such a pretty fun and entertaining popcorn comic book movie. I can't wait for ya'll to do 2004's Punisher, that's another dope action comic book movie.
Despite all of the plot flaws, this remains one of my favourite legacy marvel movies. Besides Spider man this is the only marvel movie my dad would watch with me growing up.
The devil cant just take it the contract was for his soul not the power of the ghost rider, i believe he kept it so he could use it against the devil and save people instead he has to willingly give ghost rider back, also those characters can be strong for the normal human but it just shows you how OP ghost rider really is he can pretty much take a nuke and not die
Fun Fact: Nicolas Cage likes comics so much, that Cage isn't even his last name. He's actually a member of the Coppola family, but to distance himself from the potential nepotism, he picked one of his favourite superheroes, Luke Cage (as well as composer John Cage).
Fun Fact, the actor who plays Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) in Marvels Agents Of Shield is the same actor who plays Tommy, Joels brother in The Last Of Us
As Jen liked the character of Ghost Rider, you should watch Agents of SHIELD, he is in season 4 of the show (it's not Johnny though). So we could say the character is already in the MCU.
The sequel is about as worth watching as this one is. Cage is still a treat but Ghost Rider is portrayed differently. Less cheesy and more...something. Would be interesting to see your guys' take on it.
@@ochayethenoo - the cheese is warranted though, and I think is a GREAT addition to these films. The cheese is largely due to Nicolas Cage being allowed to BE Nicolas Cage. I feel like in this movie he tried to embody the Blaze, whereas in part 2 he embraces the Cage.
honestly, i think the sequel addresses a good amount of their concerns beyond the story/rule continuity. Ghostrider takes and converts other vehicles, not being locked to the motorcyle. They explain that the devil didn't create the ghostrider and tells you where he comes from/why he lets the innocent person in jail live. The entire soul thing makes 0 sense to me. 1000 souls is not even a drop in the bucket to what would be in hell, ghostrider has probably sent more than that to hell. Thousands of years of making deals, 1000 at once would probably be nice but he should have a hell of a lot more than that already if he specifically has to make a deal to gain power from it and not just getting power from souls sent to hell. Plus theres Idris Elba.
There’s been retcons and shifting of lore in the comics but one of my favorite runs explains that the powers of ghost rider come from heaven and are angelic in nature as they come from an entity called Zarathos. Mephisto (the devil) took zarathos and tortured and twisted the powers he possesses to better serve his goals. Bonding the Spirit of Vengeance to Johnny Blaze as the current ghost rider.
I prefer it to be a demon bonded to his soul, because then the emphasis is more on Johnny being a good person and making something good out of something bad
With Jen liking darker storylines and good action, I think it wouldn't hurt to show her Spirit Of Vengeance. Whether it be on reaction or not, I think she'd enjoy it.
Neat little fun fact, but when the fantastic four were losing to Galactus, Ghost rider came in to help them. He used his Penance Stare on Galactus and beat him in that one shot. He really is a powerhouse.
I think it would be really cool if Nicholas Cage played mephisto in the MCU. I feel like he fits the role now like he has played in movies like pig. He could play a homeless guy instead of the "devil is a billionaire in a suit" cliche. One of his lines could be "oh im not homeless, I just got kicked out of a party" which would be good foreshadowing because the devil got kicked out of heaven.
The devil didn't get kicked out, he left. The whole point of the devil is to show how easily corrupted free will is to hubris. And I love the "devil in a suit" trope lol. Peter Stormare in Constantine is probably one of my favorite versions of the Devil.
This movie is such an underrated film. Ghost Rider was a favorite comic back in the day. Johnny's love of Karen Carpenter was hilarious. Plus, bringing in the original Rider, Carter Slade, was a nice touch.
Ive always liked ghost rider from his appearances in other Marvel properties but never actually read any of his solo stories was Sam Elliots character the original one? I know there's a newer one that drives a muscle car and is Hispanic I think when they like rebooted every character as a different race and gender like Asian Hulk and black female iron man.
When Johnny is the Ghost Rider, he’s invincible and when he changes back to his human self, he feels the pain of the previous fight. When he is around enemies, he changes instantly.
@@Dr.HooWho not to mention he remembers everything he sees from the penance stare, just waking up in the morning with cuts and a slideshow of the worst of the worsts actions. in your head, no wonder zarathos went mad.
"Sam and Dean would be all over Ghost Rider." Oh my god, how right you are xD Now that is a crossover I wanna see. As always, thanks for sharing your awesome with us, Guys :) /Lizz
The only reason they've been able to defeat all these divine entities is because they were underestimated by them or got the drop on them, not on Ghost Rider's watch 😂
Peter Fonda played The Devil (Mephistopheles) in Ghost Rider. He's the son of Henry Fonda who was well known for many westerns, among other work. Peter Fonda became popular after his roles in a number of motorcycle films including The Wild Angels (1966) and Easy Rider (1969). In 2007 he made a couple of cameos in biker movies like this and Wild Hogs. However, my favorite role of his is THE TRUTH from GTA: San Andreas "Man, we got 3 tons of grass on board, the engine block is held together with a macramé hammock, and it's running on 15-year-old cooking oil."
In the Marvel Comics, Ghost Rider does his penance stare on The Punisher, but it doesn’t work because The Punisher doesn’t believe he has any sin, he hasn’t regretted any action he’s ever committed
TRIVIA: This movie was directed by the same director of Affleck's Daredevil, and you can sense that "comic-booky" directoral style. The Devil is called Mephistopheles in this movie...so we have technically had Mephisto in a Marvel film. Peter Fonda, who plays this character, is probably most famous for his staring in "Easy Rider" alongside Jack Nicholson, where they play motorcycle riders. I think that was part of the inspiration for using him in this role.
The most interesting thing for me about this movie was that it was one of the first big Hollywood movies filmed in and around my home city of Melbourne. Also, seeing recognisable landmarks trying to pass as american even though thr trees in the background are only found in Australia. The stadium appearing in the movie is actually now named Marvel Stadium.
I like to think that the reason that the devil can't take his power out it's because the owner has to agree to give it back because that was part of the deal, I don't know it's confusing haha Like in star wars when the Senate give Palpatine emergency powers and he agrees to gave them back when the war was over but we all know how it ends
Technically, there is only supposed to be one ghost rider. Because Johnny is the host of Zarathos(the demon that is the ghost rider), Carter slade only had a bit of power left from when Zarathos left his body which is why he said "I still got one last ride left in me" and "I got nothing left I could only change one more time." He was running on fumes.
The logic of "The Devil gave him his power, so couldn't he just take it away?" is the same reason I hate the Silver Surfer. He always finds a way to beat Galactus, when Galactus was the one that gave him his power. These people are literally dust beneath the fingernails of their makers, and yet they're always somehow able to beat them.
This is one of the few movies my parents and I agreed to watch in theater. Before covid I never had a thing for superhero movies. I had alot of time to change that. It is a wild change to watching 1 marvel movie in my life to taking off work 6 months in advance to see a marvel movie.
Thank you for your reaction! Knew this would end up somewhere around Fantastic Four (2005). The fact it's actually slightly worse for you is surprising to me though. Now imagine Holden Hardman showing Jen the movie "Punisher: War Zone (2008)"! That would be epic! Don't care if she doesn't like it. There is no other marvel movie like this.
Since Jen likes the Netflix Punisher so much I say they just watch all 3 different Punisher movies that came before so they can compare the Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson interpretations to each other and to Jon Bernthal.
Fun Fact; outside of naming his kid after Superman, his stage name Nicolas Cage is based in large part off Luke Cage AKA Power Man, cuz he didn't like the weight his last name Coppola during the start of his career.
It’s funny you mention the MCU bringing in Ghost Rider, Holden, because it’s actually rumored they’re planning to do a Ghost Rider Halloween Special similar to that of Werewolf by Night. And with GR, means Mephisto too😈
Way i see how Johnny was able to keep his powers: once he signed the contract, he had to be the ghost rider till the end. However, the devil was giving him a way out if he completely this very important task for him to motivate him. At the end, johnny doesnt take the way out meaning the contract has to stay in effect letting him keep the power.
the way i justified it to myself was that devil was accepting it back from johnny. He told him the power was his, he might have to give it and the recipient be willing. Contract was for the devil to be willing, johnny just decided to not give. Fulfill a contract and just pass on getting paid lol
Holden, I think you're right about explaining Johnny Blaze's motivations. And it is difficult to explain the continued use and allotment of powers when we're talking about power from an evil source being used to fight against that source. The strange thing is, even though GHOST RIDER is a better comic adaptation, I think these things are better explained in the SPAWN live action film between Al Simmons and Malebolgia. Which also makes me wonder if you've watched that with Jen yet? Much like the GHOST RIDER films, that's also one heck of a ride.
If you know the story of the Ghost Rider, Johnny was imbued with the spirit of an Angel. The Angel/Spirit of Vengeance. It's an Angel who is imprisoned by the Devil and turned mad. But he's still an Angel with proper Angel morals and judgement. So it's not just "Random devil power". It's "Angel power". And the Angel torments and distributes punishment to those with tainted souls. But won't do so for those with pure or innocent souls. The stare attack is called "The Penance Stare".
This and the sequel are some of my favorite marvel films ever, I never have a bad time and some of the stuff is so legitimately awesome (like the design and CG in the next one, him driving on the building in this one, the two riders riding together, and the crane scene in 2)
I think this movie is a great example of bad writing but still entertaining. Yeah the writing isn't very good but I still have fun with this movie. Nicolas Cage is incredibly corny but in a fun way! As others have said already, the tv show Agents of Shield introduced Ghost Rider and brought him into the MCU.... Although I don't believe Agents of Shield is canon anymore, at one time it was and it was still a cool adaption of Ghost Rider. It wasn't the character Johnny Blaze it was Robbie Reyes, another Ghost Rider. I would argue his skull and Ghost Rider form looks sooooo much cooler than Johnny Blaze's. There is a very short cameo of the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider in Agents of Shield. Definitely worth checking out in my opinion.
Ghost Rider was the coolest shit when I was a kid. After watching it. I build a whole replica of ghost rider out of bionicle legos. Even now, rewatching it with you guys, he is still so damn cool with his body language.
The guy who played Mack is Donal Logue who played Harvey Bullock in the Gotham tv show which is something I hope you guys watch in the not so distant future. Definitely my favourite show of all time. Some of the best portrayals of the Batman villans including but not limited to The Penguin, the Riddler, Scarecrow, and The Joker.
It's definitely worth your time checking out the sequel. They go into a lot of the Ghost Rider's back story, which will answer a lot of the questions you have about him. That, and you have Nicolas Cage going full Nick Cage mode, which is ALWAYS fun.
That bike crash is badass, where the helmet hits the front wheel. That was in the trailers, and they show it twice in the movie. What a cool couple of movies. Could've been even better, yes, easily, but it's not half bad man. Love nick, love that these movies exist.
6:30 Jen - "Well he should get a refund!" Damn it, she made me choke on my popcorn!! Not even 10 mins in and Jen is trying to kill me!! 🤣🤣💀💀 Fun Fact: The motorcycle was made by Orange County Choppers in NY. They had a show on the Discovery Channel and the bike was built on the show.
The sequel isnt bad. its just weird. Its like a soft reboot. And it is directed by the guys who did Crank and Gamer. so it has some interesting style choices. This is the better movie, but the sequel isnt unwatchable
Technically, we "kinda" have an MCU Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes version) in Agents of SHIELD series, played by Gabriel Luna (Rev-9 in Terminator: Dark Fate and Joel's brother Tommy in The Last of Us series). But I want Nick Cage in MCU as Johnny Blaze again...
If you want to see another modern adaption of Ghost Rider. the Robbie Reyes version appears in later seasons and I think he was done really well. The whole show after season 1 is actually fantastic and is maybe the best MCU show. Would love a reaction to it some day down the line.
I think its an exellent movie that goes high on fantasy, mystery, supernatural and action...perfect for anyone that enjoys any of these genres..or even better, all of them, like me..
Dang!! I almost forgot how much I loved this movie, and the character Ghost Rider!!! I look forward to seeing how they portray ghost rider in the future!
I used to love Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Then again, I’m known for liking some movies that people mainly despise. I used to mainly like it because of well, Ghost Rider himself. Watching this video, I think it’s time for a rewatch for me for both films. I know you guys said that you probably won’t watch Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (the second film), but I really hope you do. I used to love it, but I think it would be another fun ride for you guys. Probably a lot more cheesy too.
All of these old marvels ones like Ghost rider, daredevil, hulk, punisher War zone were all some of the core movies on repeat in my childhood like I had the toys posters and all😂 I’ll always love them and their flaws, their many many flaws but the cgi in them is actually pretty damn good especially hulk and surprisingly ghost rider 2 effects
Watching this movie as a kid, I remember it being so badass so as an adult I can overlook its flaws. GR: Spirit of Vengeance was something to say the least. The best design of the character tho. As far as that is concerned, Agents of shield really did him justice albeit not being Johnny Blaze, Robby Reyes’ Ghost Rider in season 4 was the best thing marvel put on television to this day. The mcu has yet to make anything better than that season of AoS on Disney+. Hoping we get an announcement for the mcu soon.
Y’all are the best thank you for watching this. This movie came out Feb 17 2007 which was my 8th Birthday. I was captivated by Ghost Rider when I saw the trailer and my 8th Birthday party was all Ghost Rider. I got Ghost Rider toys, the game on ps2, my cake was Ghost rider themed. The cherry on top was my Great Uncle Jimmy took my to see it that night on my birthday. I was scared for half the movie and hid in his coat but I loved it. This movies really special to me because it’s the last thing I got to do with him before he died in a car accident later that year. When it came out on DVD I made myself watch it on repeat till I wasn’t scared anymore. Ghost Rider isn’t my favorite superhero, he’s definitely up there, but this character and this movie will always make me think of my Uncle. Really thank you guys again for watching this movie, you’re awesome.
One of my top favorite Marvel characters. Love every iteration of him. This movie even though it is cheesy at times is another one of my favorite pre-MCU movies and I really really hope he eventually comes into the MCU. Gabriel Luna did fantastic as Robbie Reyes in Agents of SHIELD and I hope he gets his own movie along with Johnny Blaze.
Robbie was ok in shield but if they do ghost rider they have to do Johnny. That era of changing every heros gender and race is a joke from asian hulk to black female iron man. Miles Morales was the only one that worked but he was already established like 15yrs before that.
@@mikephillips1043 well idk if I’d go that far on calling every gender/race change a joke but hey to each their own I guess. But I do agree Johnny was first so he should come first. I would also be happy with a Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes team up movie.
@@seniorordenanza2387 it just made 0 sense. They went out of their way to literally retire or kill off everyones favorite heros to race/gender swap almost every major hero. The reason people love marvels characters are for their legendary history and all the adventures they've had and they went out of their way to basically say we arent writing anymore stories for the characters you love but we will write new stories for a character that is the exact same but a minority. They decided hey lets redo the entire avengers with no white men because reasons. Female thor, asian hulk, black girl iron man, black captain america, black spiderman, muslim ms marvel, hispanic ghost rider amd female hawkeye. And they did it all at the same time with ZERO build up. I dont know if you're a big comic reader and if you are if you remember that time period they literally almost destroyed their company by doing that. Sales fucking TANKED. Majority of those titles were canceled and they had to bring back the original series. Sales got better over time but for the most part they still havent gotten back to where they were before that happened. And let me be 100% clear Im not against diverse characters but I absolutely HATE changing existing characters race/gender or forcing them to pass on the mantle for diversity sake. CREATE ORIGINAL DIVERSE CHARACTERS!! Dont be lazy and try to change half a century of work just because people claim you arent diverse enough.
the rumours of norman reedus playing mcu ghost rider combined with norman himself lobbying to play the character has me so excited to see something like that, love norman and i love ghost rider
You've "seen that guy" in EVERYTHING. His name is Donal Logue, and he's amazing. As mentioned, he was a vampire in Blade, but he was also the racist in The Patriot, an FBI agent in Sons of Anarchy, King Horik in Vikings, and Harvey Bullock in Gotham. More importantly, he was an important character in the best TV show ever made, Stumptown, and the lead character in one of the five best TV series ever made, Grounded for Life. If you haven't seen either of those two shows, you must watch them, whether for content of pleasure!
a point for your problem at the end. "Why would he be good if the devil imbued him with these powers". Well what the devil did is imbue johnny blaze with something called the spirit of vengeance. In the second movie, it explains that the spirit of vengeance was an angel charged with protecting humanity, but he was driven insane by the devil. So I think any good doings by ghost rider could be explained by the fact that there is still a good spirit in there trying to get out. and also i think the second one is much better (still not good) but the effects are really cool and the story line is much smarter and interesting
The guy that played the Devil is the one and only, Peter Fonda. The bike that jonny rode was modeled after the bike Peter Fonda Rode in the movie Easy Rider. I was a huge ghost rider fan in the comics, the movie isn't as good but fun nonetheless. Thanks to Nicholas. The ghost rider is the Spirit of Vengence and only goes after evil,he has control. As for not giving up the ghost rider, he has to give it back to the devil willingly.
I love that you guys are watching these older Marvel movies. I still enjoy a lot of these movies, especially Ghost Rider. I hope that you two get to watch The Punisher with Thomas Jane and John Travolta. It’s my absolute favorite. If you do you need to watch the Extended Version. It’s so much better than the theatrical release.
17:06 yes. Indeed Ghost rider IS invincible. AND he is also immortal. In the end of the movie. An ACTUAL COWBOY "slade“ was still alive in todays time. And in the comics there was a fight with Ghost ridee and another famous character. The character crushed Johnny‘s skull (ghost rider‘s) but the skull pieces came back together. And Ghost rider best the SHIT out of the other character . And watch out if Zarathos takes full control of Johnny. Yyyeaaaaaahhh…. We dont wanna know what happens to people around him
There's an epic scene in the comics where ghost rider tries to use penance stare on punisher and it doesn't work cause he doesn't feel guilty for what he's done I want that in the mcu so much
Funnily enough the helicopter jump scene was filmed at Docklands stadium in Melbourne, Australia. For the last few years it is now known as Marvel Stadium. And yes the rood opens up.
Definitely should watch Ghost Rider 2, was done under Marvel Knights which made it more darker. Can’t wait to see how Marvel does the new Ghost Rider in the MCU. It’s said that both Keanu Reeves and Norman Reedus are the top two Fan Cast for Johnny Blaze.
YES!!! I was hoping you’d do this one! For campy old school Marvel this is actually really good! I love this movie Sam Elliot’s narration is so good! “They say that the West was build on legends” iconic “What’s with the jelly beans?” Johnny doesn’t drink alcohol so to “party it up with the fellas” he just eats jelly beans out of a martini glass That first transformation is SO GOOD!!! Nic Cage’s over the top screaming, the choir in the background 👌🏻👌🏻🔥🔥🔥 The sequence of Johnny and Carter riding together, beautiful! RIP that lizard I only watched Spirit of Vengeance once and I remember it was wack but this one is just good ol fashioned over the top comic fun
For me this movie was fun and awesome and I have a blast every time I watch it. I don't overthink it or try to understand the parts that contradict itself. True Ghost Rider easily defeats everyone but so does Superman. Hell of a good time in my book.
Honestly love this movie. Was one of my favorites when I was a kid and even as an almost 30 year old I still have fun with this movie. Looking forward to see the future of ghost rider in MCU, I honestly hope we get Cage back.
In the movie, the ghost rider is a tormented angel (Zadkiel), when his flames are red they are vengeance/punishment (hellfire) and when they are blue they are flames (light) of mercy/redemption.
Still love this movie, even after all those years. Didn't like the sequel in the beginning but grew to like it and really hope that you both will react to that one as well. Also love the Robbie Reyes version that was in Agents of S.H.I E.L.D. and think Gabriel Luna did a amazing job playing him. Think it would be great if he played ghost rider in the MCU
Fun Fact about the crash at the beginning. The stunt man doing that crash screwed up and really did land on his neck. He injured his spine, but he survived and signed off on the scene to be used in the movie.

I love that you and Jen are doing the original Marvel movies, and Ghost Rider is such a pretty fun and entertaining popcorn comic book movie. I can't wait for ya'll to do 2004's Punisher, that's another dope action comic book movie.
I'd love for them to just do all 3 Punisher movies to compare.
@@SirStrangefolk especially the Dolf Lundgren one as I’m not aware of any reactions to it on UA-cam
Yeah I agree
Despite all of the plot flaws, this remains one of my favourite legacy marvel movies. Besides Spider man this is the only marvel movie my dad would watch with me growing up.
Ghost rider makes an appearance in one of the old spiderman games riding up a building like he did here

@@dobber43 oh wow, which game?
@@GH0ST_RANG3R_Edits Spider-Man on PS1

My dad loved Peter Fonda in this as the Devil. He was terrific.
Doesn't he also have a Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider tattoo they had to cover up for the filming of this movie, or am I misremembering?
Fun Fact, the actor who plays Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) in Marvels Agents Of Shield is the same actor who plays Tommy, Joels brother in The Last Of Us
I Want You To Do Elektra This Movie Is Incredible.

There's certainly a large amount of cheese to the sequel.
@@ochayethenoo yes, just not quite as cheesy overall as the first one
@@stiimuli it's cheesy but a lot more hectic and actually trying to be serious (thanks to David S. Goyer)
Worst marvel movie to till now date
Spirit of vengeance
@@MVPMVE he and his followers were cast out of heaven
This movie is such an underrated film. Ghost Rider was a favorite comic back in the day. Johnny's love of Karen Carpenter was hilarious. Plus, bringing in the original Rider, Carter Slade, was a nice touch.
Ive always liked ghost rider from his appearances in other Marvel properties but never actually read any of his solo stories was Sam Elliots character the original one? I know there's a newer one that drives a muscle car and is Hispanic I think when they like rebooted every character as a different race and gender like Asian Hulk and black female iron man.
I hope they bring back Gabriel Lunas Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider from agents of shield
When Johnny is the Ghost Rider, he’s invincible and when he changes back to his human self, he feels the pain of the previous fight. When he is around enemies, he changes instantly.
That sucks feeling the pain

Cage's performance of Ghost Rider is actually so freaking good. Especially in the 2nd movie
However, my favorite role of his is THE TRUTH from GTA: San Andreas "Man, we got 3 tons of grass on board, the engine block is held together with a macramé hammock, and it's running on 15-year-old cooking oil."
it hurt me a little bit when jen called peter fonda "that guy who played the devil"
Sam Elliot has one the most badass voices ever seriously the man could be reading a grocery list I would stand there listening to him lol
I like to think that the reason that the devil can't take his power out it's because the owner has to agree to give it back because that was part of the deal, I don't know it's confusing haha
Like in star wars when the Senate give Palpatine emergency powers and he agrees to gave them back when the war was over but we all know how it ends
27:52 That change in her expression was priceless
And with GR, means Mephisto too😈
I absolutely love the pre-MCU marvel movies, they have a weird charm and my headcanon is that they're all in the same universe
I love this movie.
And to answer the question, yes, sometimes cemeteries are moved. It's pretty rare, but it does happen.
Holden, did you watch Agents of SHIELD? (on your own) Ghostrider storyline was one of the high points, exceptional actually.
I heard that apparently he hates AOS, and he only watched a few episodes of the 1st season but this could just be false. I personally love the show

This and the sequel are some of my favorite marvel films ever, I never have a bad time and some of the stuff is so legitimately awesome (like the design and CG in the next one, him driving on the building in this one, the two riders riding together, and the crane scene in 2)
The sequel is waaaay different but I think it deserves some credit. You should check it out.
I don’t know if anybody mentioned it, but the devil was played by Peter Fonda, son of legendary actor, Henry Fonda
I love the ghost rider and this movie if you don't think too much about isn't terrible, Just hope the MCU do justice for him in the future.
Ghost Rider is technically in the MCU already as it was a part of Agents of SHIELD. (Season 4 - best season)
Could’ve just as well been bad reading
I honestly liked the sequel better, or at least thought it was cooler. Since no other channels reacted to it, I hope y’all do
Same here, parts of the sequel are way better and the plot is less convoluted than the first
That bike crash is badass, where the helmet hits the front wheel. That was in the trailers, and they show it twice in the movie. What a cool couple of movies. Could've been even better, yes, easily, but it's not half bad man. Love nick, love that these movies exist.
I hope you check out more DC movies especially the animated movie universe is really good

Ghost Rider is again in the MCU having appeared in Marvel's Agents of Shield
Definitely my favourite marvel show and one of my favourite shows of all time
I think its an exellent movie that goes high on fantasy, mystery, supernatural and action...perfect for anyone that enjoys any of these genres..or even better, all of them, like me..

I love both of these movies, the second one especially. I remember having a huge Ghost Rider obsession with both of these

HUH, never noticed that Mortal Kombat reference at 24:48 before! That's hilarious

Yet another underrated classic marvel movie.

We dont wanna know what happens to people around him
When Mephistopheles told Johnny "Nice Bike" that was a reference to the actor Peter Fonda's 1969 movie EasyRider.
Just loving the fact you mentioned Supernatural at the beginning. Always enjoy the first time react for one of you
There's an epic scene in the comics where ghost rider tries to use penance stare on punisher and it doesn't work cause he doesn't feel guilty for what he's done I want that in the mcu so much
Funnily enough the helicopter jump scene was filmed at Docklands stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
I love this movie
Sam Elliot’s narration is so good! “They say that the West was build on legends” iconic
“What’s with the jelly beans?” Johnny doesn’t drink alcohol so to “party it up with the fellas” he just eats jelly beans out of a martini glass
That first transformation is SO GOOD!!! Nic Cage’s over the top screaming, the choir in the background 👌🏻👌🏻🔥🔥🔥
The sequence of Johnny and Carter riding together, beautiful! RIP that lizard
I only watched Spirit of Vengeance once and I remember it was wack but this one is just good ol fashioned over the top comic fun
I think that if you guys watch the second movie you will understand the spirit of the Ghost Rider and why it does what it does.
The Spirit of Vengeance never rests.
The spirit of vengeance likes being with johnny and they both formed a special bond with each other
For me this movie was fun and awesome and I have a blast every time I watch it. I don't overthink it or try to understand the parts that contradict itself. True Ghost Rider easily defeats everyone but so does Superman. Hell of a good time in my book.
27:50 It Was funny how jen reacted when she realized what you meant by Falcon. 😂 Greetings from Germany🙂
Fun Fact: The bike they call Grace is Peter Fonda's personal bike, it is the same one he rode in Easy Rider that was painted as Captain America.
Honestly love this movie. Was one of my favorites when I was a kid and even as an almost 30 year old I still have fun with this movie. Looking forward to see the future of ghost rider in MCU, I honestly hope we get Cage back.
we all know Disney are ruining MCUcnow, don't expect ghost rider will be great in mcu
I really enjoyed this movie. And still is my favorite cover of the Ghost Rider song. Nicolas Cage is alot of fun to watch.

I've been waiting for this sooo long, cant wait for Jens reaction
