That cheeseburgers line… hit me like a brick wall in the theater. During the funeral and the subsequent scenes before it, I felt as if my heart was being carpet bombed with emotions. “I am Iron Man” “You can rest now” “I love you 3000”. And finally as the camera zooms out during the funeral I’m thinking about the first Iron Man movie. (When we first saw Stark. When he got back home.) Then Happy asks Morgan if she wants anything. In my head: “Don’t you say it…”. When she said: cheeseburgers, all those emotion bombs finally hit. It broke me… I’m not ashamed to say I cried.
10 month late response ik but i had a similar feeling when I saw this in theaters that I’ve never shared before. I was only 9 when I saw the first Ironman film. At the time I was too young to understand everything but the more I rewatched it the more I connected with the themes of trauma, redemption, and personal growth while still being a fun childish story about a cocky dude in a robot suit. While my love for the superhero genre has faded as I’ve gotten older I still grew up with these characters and I was invested in their character arcs. Particularly Starks as he’s always been my favorite. I honestly have a lot of issues with this movie, but those last 30ish minutes overwhelmed me. I already knew stark was going to die because frankly it was inevitable but seeing his growth, from an addicted narcissistic genius billionaire playboy philanthropist to just a simple caring father willing to sacrifice himself, was the decade long payoff I had been waiting for. I was 19 and really depressed when this movie came out but that last half hour made me forget everything I was dealing with and I felt like that little kid going to the theaters for the first time all over again. I remember I had the stupidest smile on my face watching that final battle unfold. Then that final callback line “I am Ironman” hit me like a brick and I felt something in my chest that I’ve only felt a few times in my life. Like I’d taken a breath of fresh air for the first time in years. I was flooded with a series of childhood memories, some great, some terrible, but it came with a realization of who I had grown into, the burdens I’d overcome, and the impact his character had on me. That final funeral scene “I love you 3000”, “proof that tony stark has a heart”, and for whatever reason especially the “your dad loved cheeseburgers, imma get you all the cheeseburgers you want” were the cherries on top. It reminded me of the friends and family I’d lost, my memories with them, and the things I wanted to say to them but never got to. I rarely let myself get too emotional in front of others but I genuinely started crying through that whole sequence. Not because I was sad about his death but because it felt like a weight I had been carrying was finally released from me. Like an era of my childhood had officially ended and I was ready to move on and leave behind the burdens that had followed me for most of my life. I’m in my twenties now and in hindsight it was silly to be so attached to a fictional character that was written for children. Still, that feeling of relief and introspection is something that I will never forget. Other than Loki I still haven’t watched any new MCU content because for me Endgame was the grand finale. Maybe I will at some point idk. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk lol
Dude, I snapped when she said "cheeseburger" in theatre. I cried heavily, and when Happy said "Imma get you all the cheesburgers you want" I was relieved, I mean RELIEVED. That line from Happy was the thing I needed to hear the most to keep myself together.

After watching Falcon and The Winter Soldier the scene with Steve and Cap is just so impactful. Sam saying “I’ll do my Best” is a genuine response, but he takes time to think about it; he then thinks to his first words when he put it on. He didn’t feel as if we was worthy or ready, and thought it best to leave Steve’s Legacy where it was at its peak. Going to the end where he is with Bucky and As Captain America delivers a message to the world. It’s beautiful and I love it all

Something that gets overlooked is that Josh Brolin gives a hell of a performance as Thanos. Ruthless and scary yet controlled and calculating. Something I realised too. The same piece of music that plays in the funeral is the same in the start with Tony and Nebula in the spaceship. A very subtle foreshadowing.
Villains make stories. We know what the hero is gonna do. But, a fully fleshed out villain that we can relate to on some level can take a story from good to great.
Tony: Mommy never wears anything I buy her. Holden: Relatable. Jen's reaction to that made me laugh. Her reactions to the rest of the film were great. For the record, Captain America is my favorite, so seeing him use the hammer on Thanos was a dream come true for me. I remember when I first saw this in the theaters, right when Cap said, "Avengers!" I was in my seat like, "Say it! Say it!" and then..."Assemble." I was the first to jump out of my seat and cheer and everyone else in the theater followed me. Which is obviously better than telling me to be quiet and sit down.
Watching this movie in theaters was an unforgettable experience. Everyone was screaming and cheering and crying and it felt like we were all really watching it together. It was really special and exciting. Moments like the ones you talk about were definitely enhanced by the crowd.
@@neoshenlong Right? My friend and I walked out of the theater with our eyes wide and feeling like our hairs were straight up like we came out of a dryer. Plus we had no spoilers which was even better.
Yeah by far best theater experience for any movie I have seen yet. Will never forget it. Even the credits when they were going through all the characters and everyone would start screaming when each came up.
In many ways this was captain america's avengers movie. Thor had his with IW and Iron Man dominated the first 2 but aside from the Snap, funeral and Tony/Howard (don't get me wrong all big moments) the movie's key beats, moments and focus was largely on Steve Rogers. As also someone that likes Cap most, it gave me a lot of pleasure he got his due. Also a nice feather in my cap to have predicted the mjolnir and cap/peggy scenes (and by predicting i was projecting those predictions to the world as something I hoped the movie would contain but had doubts about happening).
I know it shouldn't matter, but it was honestly more enjoyable to go through this journey with Jen than with Matt. It's just nice when someone new loves this as much as you do and it shows in every video. But now that we're here, you should do a short reaction of Jen watching the "Marvel Celebrates the Movies" video, I think she'd get a kick out of it (or wait until after Far From Home).
I’d disagree saying I enjoyed both journey’s equally. Matt was very disagreeable, somewhat fairly, but eventually grew to like the MCU. He noticed things wrong with the movies that most of us fanboys ignored. Jen almost easily liked the movies, probably as close as most of us did, so that’s very relatable. The beauty in the end is seeing people, who never would have given these movies a chance, realizing just what they’ve been missing all along.
As per Tony's requests when Hulk did the snap...they brought back *'just'* the ones taken away(dusted) by the first Snap by Thanos. *Vision, and Gamora were dead, before the snap.* Tony died, because he was just a normal human being, and his nanotech, couldn't protect him from the power created while he was in contact with the stones during activation(his snap). *(word on the webs, is that all that coloured lights going on and off, and up and down his hand and arm, was his nanobots futile struggles trying to keep him alive)*

Despite watching Endgame more than 20 times now, I legitimately teared up with Jen at so many moments towards the end. Thank you both for hours of fun and entertainment, can't wait to see more!
Can anyone appreciate how fucking strong and intelligent is Thanos?! Winning so easily 1v3 even against stormbreaker and mjolnir, he outsmarted cap marvel’s power AND he understood the situation, he came from the past without living infinity war. Also in the end when he sees his army vanishing, you can tell he’s dead inside (sry don’t know english adjectives), realizing that he couldn’t accomplish his goal which, in his mind, was the right thing to do
We don't know how much time he had to prepare for the fight, it could have been years of torturing information out of Nebula, and studying what she knew about Cap, iron Man, and Thor.
@@anouar3194 I don't think so. I would say that they would have fought a lot better and might have put Thanos on the rocks but I still think Thanos would have taken it. At the very least, the fight would have devolved to Thor v Thanos and the latter would take it.

I love that Thor didn't return to being "Buff Thor" after finding out he's worthy. Originally when they were getting ready to fight Thanos, Thor would strike himself with lightning to suit up, as he did here, but he would transform back into his buff self. I'm glad they didn't do that. Just because you have a good day, doesn't mean your depression is gone. I also loved that when Cap says "Avengers Assemble" Thor is the first one to let out his war cry. The writing in these movies is great, you can’t argue with that
Its amazing how they both started and ended. Perfect story for both.

@@iwasnevercool5672 well you can’t say that it was selfish because he wasn’t even meant to be alive during that time he was only preserved through the ice as everyone knows

One of this movies most underrated moments was tony and nebula playing paper football. Nebula winning and getting a handshake was so huge for her character growth and ability to trust the avengers.
Especially since Thanos punk ass would replace her body parts Everytime gamora beat her in combat
And you can tell that it stuck with her because even tho she had very few scenes with tony she was very visibly saddened by his death. I love nebula so much ! lol
Nebula's character arc across Guardians, Infinity War and Endgame is fantastic. The Russo's did a really good job of integrating her personal journey.

Same. Happy’s scene was what finally broke me.
@@sparshparimoo Finally, someone who agrees.

Its rewarding tho when Matt evtually started liking them
I’d disagree saying I enjoyed both journey’s equally.

When Pepper said "We're gonna be ok...you can rest now" i started hard crying in the theater
Been an amazing journey, ain’t no series better than marvel but I can’t wait for more reactions, thanks Holden and Jen 🙌🙌
The clip of “Morgan” at the end was so cute
I’m glad she pointed out Nebulas role in this movie. She’s super underrated
Can anyone appreciate how fucking strong and intelligent is Thanos?! Winning so easily 1v3 even against stormbreaker and mjolnir, he outsmarted cap marvel’s power AND he understood the situation, he came from the past without living infinity war. Also in the end when he sees his army vanishing, you can tell he’s dead inside (sry don’t know english adjectives), realizing that he couldn’t accomplish his goal which, in his mind, was the right thing to do
thanos is extremely smart, it amazed me how he took on cap Thor and tony with no stones
We don't know how much time he had to prepare for the fight, it could have been years of torturing information out of Nebula, and studying what she knew about Cap, iron Man, and Thor.
Thor was nerfed that's why, otherwise the fight would have been over.
@@anouar3194 I don't think so. I would say that they would have fought a lot better and might have put Thanos on the rocks but I still think Thanos would have taken it.
At the very least, the fight would have devolved to Thor v Thanos and the latter would take it.
So if Thanos got knocked down could the hammer have been set on his chest and held there like Loki was in first Thor?
Me happy that Jen is almost caught up with the MCU
Me also sad that we’re almost at the end of my girlfriend watches MCU for the first time until Holden finds another friend that has never watch the MCU
We still got the series
Fortunately my Girlfriend watches MCU can technically go on forever if they want.
Yeah she is not going to react to new movies but now that MCU series exist they can react to them together as long as Marvel keeps making new ones
I guess it's time to start "my kids watch the MCU for the first time".
There’s WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and soon Black Widow
@@Aryan-ck9lv ms marvel series
Just finished watching the first 22 videos in this playlist and I gotta say, it made me appreciate most of the movies even more. Loved Jen's reactions and thoughts on the movies (great hearing from someone who doesn't really have any previous connection to the characters) and Holden's thoughts upon rewatch. Holden's faces as he was trying not to spoil things throughout the series cracked me up so many times! Also wanna give a shoutout for the editing - it's like a compact version of all movies and it works phenomenally.
I've been meaning to watch all of these again myself, and you guys got me proper hyped.
Thanks a bunch!

You guys should react to marvel's full d23 announcement from last December. Kevin Feige basically presents all the shows and movies that are coming up. You should also make her react to marvel celebrates the movies. And new trailers like shang chi, Eternals
I think they won't do that cause it would spoil a bunch of stuff
I feel like Tony telling Howard that his dad used to say “no amount of money ever bought a second of time” was Tony saying “Hey dad, my friends and I figured out time travel, and I turned out mostly ok.”
.......
So glad Jen enjoyed the series. Her reaction when Thor killed Thanos was perfect. And seeing her witness them return. Her smile when Loki reappears was sweat and the horror in her voice when Tony dies.
Awesome seeing Live You 3000 to Jen!
He's here, and he's ready!
I mean I know he's a alien and all but still takes time to lose all that fat
@@ricardomiles2957 he’s not an alien he’s a god he could have easily stuck himself with the lightning and went back to “buff Thor” but his depression and mentality kept him from doing that
@@sdogjeremy4306 idk in the comics but in the MCU, Yes, Thor is a alien, all the folks in Norse mythology in the MCU are a bunch of aliens.
@@sdogjeremy4306 The Asgardians have conflicting views on who they are. They say they are gods and sometimes they aren't. They really just treat themselves and the universe treats them as powerful, really long-lived beings. So I doubt that transformation is possible or Thor could will himself a new eye in Ragnarok. Plus thor isn't loki, he doesn't know magic or illusions.
@@ricardomiles2957 Yeah, in the comics they are 'gods', entities that are the embodiment of something (thunder, mischief, ect...), because even after dying during 'Ragnarok', their spirits are reborn, and Thor, Odin, Loki, ect... have all died plenty of other times and are always reborn somehow (but then again in comics, who doesn't die and come back, haha!) But as far as we know in the MCU, from what the Asgardians themselves have stated, they are just a race of ancient, powerful, and advanced beings, that 'lesser' civilizations have perceived as gods.
