For anyone playing fps competitive(eg. apex legends) getting the best hardware possible is THE definitive solution, i.e more than 240 frames consistent, and a 240hz monitor. The basis is that no matter how much you optimise, you’re still limited by the hardware latency. If your pc is struggling to get 144fps consistently, the system latency that you’ll experience will be higher than a person playing at 240fps, your inputs will most likely be delayed (considering both have the same ping). Why is it important to set the monitor to the highest possible refreshrate? If I have a 165hz monitor but want to limit the fps to 120, cant I set it to 144hz?
Your fps could be exceeding your monitors refresh rate or freesync is not actually active. One thing not mentioned in the video is there is another Freesync setting set under specific game profiles. Go to your Adrenaline software select the Gaming tab, select the game you want to fix and make sure that AMD Freesync is set to On not AMD Optimized. AMD Optimized lets the software decide whether or not to turn freesync on and has known issues that disable freesync in games. Turning it to On prevents that from happening. If you are still getting tearing then you likely don't have Freesync enabled properly in hardware(monitor), software(Adrenialine), or your fps is exceeding your monitors refresh rate(frame rate limit to 5 under your refresh rate if 3 doesn't work). you turned on vsync ofc you will get capped.
How does monitor settings affect fps??
@@Saridfn It's not affected it's different you are limiting the fps based on your monitor refresh right WHICH IS RIGHT. by turning on G-sync vsync this is the way.
So we no longer have manually cap our frames 3 below our max refresh rate when Gsync, Vsync, and Ultra low latency is enabled in the Nvidia control?
correct unless u wanna cap even lower for whatever reason
@@FateXO But in games dx12 cap don´work with ultra latency :(
for some reason the minus 3-15 fps LLM Ultra settings doesnt work for me in league of Legends, fps stays at 165hz(My Gigabyte M27F-A native refresh rate) and the frametime graph is a little bit wavy, when I cap the framerate -3(162 in my case) with RTSS,the frametime graph in league of legends is almost always FLAT. I like to keep everything in Gsync/freesync range.

does this work on csgo?
this is not for laptop users right?
I cant see the option in nvidia control panel after enabling freesync
I noticed MSI afterburn and evga precision caused tearing, I figured that after two weeks of banging my head to the wall, I replaced my gtx 1070 with rtx 3090 and replace my monitor, I was so frustrated on why my old gtx 1070 with > 70fps were smoother than my 144fps on my rtx 3090. but yesterday I found out its all because of those two apps.
TIP: For Nvidia control panel, on the Set up GSync section, if you don't see you monitor on the "select the display you would like to change." option just enable the option of "enable settings for the selected display model" that worked for my Samsung G8
why my screen got blinking?
Did this, now no man's sky is capped at 48fps :'D
Should I even be using g sync if I can get a consistent 240fps with no screen tearing with it off?
Just want to make sure I am not missing out on something if I choose not to use g sync

One thing that has been failed to be said is that if your fps does not meet your monitors hz then you should turn off vsync. I blindly follow these guides sometimes and still get un-smooth game play without knowing why. the games i had trouble with were cyberpunk 2077 and dragons dogma 2, since fps could not match my monitor(240hz) i turned off vsync and the game was BUTTER smooth(just as long as you are at a playable fps).
@Panjno You explained it very well. I would appreciate it if you could explain how to turn off the monitor and nvidia and how we should adjust the settings in FPS games such as e-sports, cs, valorant. It would be nice if you also explained in detail how we should set the desktop size and position.

I habe been all this week looking for a way to avoid flickering on my screen while G-SYNC is activated. I just test Cyberpunk and Far Cry 6 and flickering it is gone!! Thanks a lot bro!
I feel like EVERY monitor I have ever used has screen tearing any I always have to enable GSYNC . But yet there are people who never experience screen tearing ? I always reach super high fps with a 5800x3d and 4070 ti . Am I buying the wrong monitors ? Do I need to get a pro BENQ monitor or something ?
I have rog flow z13 tablet with 3050ti but i don't have "set up G Sync" section in my control panel. But i definitely know my tablet supports adaptivesync but helll... How can I activate it without turning on that goddam G sync?!?
Hello in the "Manage 3D settings" tab under Global Settings -> Preferred refresh rate (built-in laptop monitor) .... how do I change this setting for the EXTERNAL monitor? thanks
I’m using a RTX 4090 with a budget FreeSync premium 1080p 165hz monitor for now 😂. I’m having to mess with these settings and frame cap to get it smooth until I upgrade to a high end monitor
i recently change my GPU from Nvidia to AMD and my FPS is cap at 90 FPS for some reason even though i don't have any FPS cap enable(vsync off in games, no radeon chill and monitor refresh rate set to the highest)can someone help me? that would be much appreciated

So you turn on Vsync in the control panel but still keep it off in-game right?
Yes according to nvidia
@@KingBonerTheTurd got it, I just thought that the settings would conflict
No! In game on i control panel default!
@panjno I have a question why did you enable DSR factors with smoothness 0%?
And are we supposed to do that just like you?
Thank you!
Hey mate,
Do I need to use the in game frame cap also, if I’m using a 4090 on a Acer Nitro Freesync monitor?
