I tried some guides for ingame settings and Nvidia Panel settings for Remnant 2, but no big changes. Then I stubbled on more videos of Panjno and thought, lets give this one a try, disable the Gamebar, Enable Low latency Ultra (even if many said it was bad, as well as V-sync), check if all G-Sync Settings were still intact for my Monitor. The only thing I didnt do was use the Nvidia Inspector and change the Rebar settings, because it was getting late. So restarted the PC and went ingame, Game stuttering like crazy, loading screen taking almost 2 minutes to change, I land on my map and got 5 Fps, I think to myself...oh well I did the wIndows Restore Point backup, so either way I will be ok. But before I could even finish that thought, my FPS spikes at once landing at...115 FPS?! I mean sure that is while being idle, but before that, at that exact spot my FPS was at 55! I always thought that a clean install meant uninstalling the old driver. I've noticed just recently that when I install my Nvidia driver's through GeForce Experience that the first thing it does is uninstall the old driver. So that's been good for me. I've done all of the settings videos and I never really see any exceptional increase. As far as debloting. I haven't tried this.
@Panjno Nvcleanstall updated today and it added an option to disable Ansel which is a screenshot tool so it's another useless thing you can disable in a future video.
Actually, I've been reading more and more about how using DDU is completely unnecessary nowadays. You can just use Geforce Experience to auto-download new drivers and there is ZERO issues as a result. Doing this entire DDU and manual driver install process is a waste of time.
No idea what you're reading but nvidia driver checkbox for perform clean installation doesn't actual uninstall everything. Also it doesn't touch intel or amd drivers. You need to use things like DDU and NVCleanInstall. I'll also add, I had experienced some blue screen crashes but after using DDU it disappeared completely.
@@dubbleplusgood So many people completely misunderstand what "clean install" does. All it does is reset all Nvidia Control Panel settings to their default values (if you made adjustments to the global settings or individual game settings). That's all it does.

a quicker way to restart in safe mode (without having to restart twice), Start, msconfig, and Boot. Select Safe Mode there, and it will ask you if you want to restart right away. You need to remember to go back into that to turn it back to regular boot once you're back in Safe Mode to run DDU.
As a user of nvidia and a HATER of the mad Amounts of bloat in their software. DDU already has a setting to reboot into Safe Mode before doing anything, so I'm not sure why booting in safe mode manually or disconnecting the internet is even a recommendation.
Safe mode disables background processes that may interfear with the uninstall, for instance you can't delete a file if a process is using it. Windows will ping the internet to install the GPU driver automatically, but that is not the one you want.
@@TiberiusMoon I know what safe mode is for, and how it works, but thanks. As I previously said, I don't know why he was recommending to *manually* do any of this, when DDU actually prompts you to reboot in safe mode already. Meaning, it's pretty much automated when using that program to install drivers anyway. It also has a feature to disable Windows from automatically installing drivers. So he's suggesting you use DDU, but then suggesting you also do things DDU already does for you. It's redundant and unnecessary.
It's not redundant because for some people windows tries to reinstall its own drivers even with that setting enabled. I've seen it happen in another UA-camrs video and it happened to me in the past year.
Just a heads up for anyone running W11 with smart app control on. (Smart app requires an internet connection to verify installation from Nvidia. So you will not be able to NVC debloat install from safe mode the (2ND step) so before using the DDU in safe mode pause windows updates and then run the final install after the reboot in normal mode since windows won't look for drivers being temporarily disabled. *Note this worked on my notebook that also has an Intel integrated GPU

'Disable Ansel' is in the Installation Tweaks also. It's used for taking screenshot and clips ect. I found this helped too. Only disable if you dont mind not being able to screenshot ect
You can still take screenshots Ansel is just to enchance the experience especially for content creators and improve the already existing screenshot "feature".
@@alexwithanx yeah I know that man some people use nvidia's for screenshots ect
Oh my god i cant thank you enough, for example in phasmophobia i got lag spikes and everything and like 40-60fps now i have 70-90fps!! 😮👍😀 (Wow this sounds like a bot comment LoL😅 almost my first time commenting on youtube)
Really effective and i notice a small decrease of temperature in my gpu and some stable gaming on my garbage laptop.but i did not include the optimus option in my custom driver. I think that's why I have this difference
Always come back to this when I forget how to debloat my Nvidia driver. I update like every 6 months. Thank you Panjno
Hey Panjno, in the intel undervolt video, you mentioned that you were going to come up with a video for the ones who have locked bios/cannot undervolt through intel xtu. So can you try to do that next?
🎉 yes!
Yes please
I just have to comment that i tried setting the playback speed to .5 to follow along better.....and it sounded just like you were drunk straight outta an irish pub XD
once in safe mode i can’t access the ddu optimisation folder
Move the folder to another drive. That folder might be part of your OneDrive which isn’t accessible in safe mode
One of the best things you can do is to unpark your cores. Don't push gfx settings too high if you're on a low to mid tier set up but instead rely on consistency. OC your CPU if you can too but unpark your cores!
How do i unpark on laptop, i always see "parked" on my i7 13700hx on my legion laptop
whats core parking and how can I use this function?
Unparking all cores doesnt do anything. The system does that on its own. Youll just increase power consumption
@@sigmamale4147 You'll want to look a bit further into what windows actually does in it's varying states of demand & CPU cycles, especially gaming. Because you're actually quite wrong.

Feels like I've been in a never ending battle to combat against performance issues and stuttering ever since I first upgraded my graphics driver using GeForce experience. For me, the battle is still ongoing, but this is yet another helpful tip that has improved my performance somewhat, but still not quite where I need it to be.
Must this be done every time there is a new driver that comes out?
This was the best thing done to my pc since I bought it. Thank you so much.
Loved using NVCleanInstall when I had my 2070, however now I have switched to the 7900XTX I am unsure how to debloat the drivers. Is there an equivalent to NVCleanInstall for AMD?
@@TheJustifier17 there isnt any risk involed lol
@@TheJustifier17 Unless you start ticking boxes randomly there is literally next to 0 risk involved with NVCI, and if it does "go wrong" you just re-install a new driver :)

how i am gonna update the nvidia driver if i don't have the geforce experience app?
The old-school way. From the website, duh...
Thanks for updating your old debloat driver video!
If anyone has the "File cannot be accessed by system" error in safe boot, move both items (the new driver & ddu) to a folder or disk that OneDrive isn't on (by exiting safe boot and doing so). Re-enter safe boot and continue on
Can you help me I have that message
I don’t know if it’s a placebo in which it might be, but I could tell the differences almost immediately after restarting after the final step. Huge thanks, had never done a debloat once and got my 2070super right when the 30 series first came out, so this was long overdue.
Do I have to do this again for when a new game ready driver drops for a new game?
I hope not.
Yes
Only the debloating stage
keep up you make the best videos ❤ help me alot
Using DDU is totally optional and even the tool's creator says it's only intended to be used if there are issues.
quick question, how are we supposed to know that there are drivers updates if we dont have geforce experience?
Was wondering that too,
is someone chasing you???

I always thought that a clean install meant uninstalling the old driver. I've noticed just recently that when I install my Nvidia driver's through GeForce Experience that the first thing it does is uninstall the old driver. So that's been good for me. I've done all of the settings videos and I never really see any exceptional increase. As far as debloting. I haven't tried this.
@Panjno Nvcleanstall updated today and it added an option to disable Ansel which is a screenshot tool so it's another useless thing you can disable in a future video.
Thanks for answering my question with a quick ctrl+f, you rock!
so for every new driver update you need to to this process all over again?
Yep, but you shouldn't always need to update the driver unless needed
Thanks for the detailed guide in this video. Are we supposed to repeat these steps whenever a new Nvidia driver releases?
Actually, I've been reading more and more about how using DDU is completely unnecessary nowadays. You can just use Geforce Experience to auto-download new drivers and there is ZERO issues as a result. Doing this entire DDU and manual driver install process is a waste of time.
No idea what you're reading but nvidia driver checkbox for perform clean installation doesn't actual uninstall everything. Also it doesn't touch intel or amd drivers. You need to use things like DDU and NVCleanInstall.
I'll also add, I had experienced some blue screen crashes but after using DDU it disappeared completely.
this guys doesn't no what he's talking about leave him
be
@@dubbleplusgood So many people completely misunderstand what "clean install" does. All it does is reset all Nvidia Control Panel settings to their default values (if you made adjustments to the global settings or individual game settings). That's all it does.
Great information. The only question I most always have with UA-camrs is why to do have to talk too fast?
Use the playback speed to alter it to your liking.
This is me, expecting if my GTX 750 Ti would have a significant difference in terms of performance if I try those debloating. T∆T
if there is a difference tell me, i have the same gpu thnx.

Hey, Panjno! This video is really interesting. I just followed every step you said and runs well on my device. I have a question, should i do the same thing as you said in this video if there's an update for the driver or should i do a normal installation? Thank you 😄😄😄

You have to do it every time you want to update or the NVidia driver update (which is really just a reinstall) will put the bloat back.
@@KwisatzHaderach77will these steps still apply for a new driver update? Do you need to uninstall the previous de bloated one first then follow these steps for the updated driver?
@@christopherpalmiero6311 I've had good luck without having to uninstall the debloated one but just following the reinstall part with the new driver version, but if I just let the driver update itself automatically then it puts a lot of stuff back.

a quicker way to restart in safe mode (without having to restart twice), Start, msconfig, and Boot. Select Safe Mode there, and it will ask you if you want to restart right away.
You need to remember to go back into that to turn it back to regular boot once you're back in Safe Mode to run DDU.
As a user of nvidia and a HATER of the mad
Amounts of bloat in their software. I spent way too much money upgrading ram ( a lot) way too much time tuning my ram timing (WAY too much time) upgrading my CPU and just to negate the hit of that bloat. Had I seen this I may have saved myself a ton. I game competitively and that reduced latency makes all the fkn difference. THIS IS THE BEST CONTENT ON UA-cam.

so basically this is a tutorial of how to download gpu drivers in a third party page. interesting.
I've seen it happen in another UA-camrs video and it happened to me in the past year.

i cant seem to find the display settings in the nvidia control panel
Thank you so much for this info, works great!!
Just a heads up for anyone running W11 with smart app control on. (Smart app requires an internet connection to verify installation from Nvidia. There is no internet in Safe mode and for whatever reason Safe mode with networking F5 doesn't not want to work, spent hours looking for a workaround trouble shooting .
