  • Removing the A/C compressor from the top is actually pretty easy and you will save some time and effort by not removing extra parts in my opinion! This should work on the 00-06 Tahoe and Gm trucks.

    I just did this job on a Yukon yesterday and I feel that even with your modifications for the fans, and the air intake, it's much easier to deal with the compressor from the bottom. You didn't show the actual mounting and bolting of the new compressor but it seems to be it must be hard to hold it from the top and get the bolts lined up.

      To me it was easier from the top since I didn’t have to crawl under my truck or remove my tire/fender lining. But everyone is different I understand, I didn’t show much bolting it since it was just straight forward nothing special the holes all lined up

    How do you make sure it doesn't have any freon?

      @@gibramperez9297 the low side has a valve stem, or they can check for you at a shop that works with A/C

    Another great video, btw I notice your dashboard is still apart and I figured it a great time to ask a question. My power mirrors fuse was blown when got my truck (2000 Chevy Silverado) and changed it, but mirrors still doesn’t work. My question where are the power mirrors Relay located at, could make a quick UA-cam short showing where it is and what one it is 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👀🤔

    Question. My ac blows cold when idling but if i accelerate or drive it it makes an awful noise? Would you lean toward belt tensioner issue or ac compressor going bad?

    • @MiGo713
      @MiGo713  23 дні тому

      If you’re compressor is making noise it could be a sign it’s going bad, if your belt is squealing it could be the tensioner or idler pulley

      Thanks, my electric fans and factory relay harness I got used in a salvage yard like around 200 don’t remember exactly, it just depends where you get them from if the more expensive part is the fans

    Great Job. 😊 why would my ac blow cold air and then it turns to regular warm air. Its got freon in it. But I never know when its gonna all of a sudden start blowing warm air. I'll stop and turn my truck off/on and then it may come back to cold air. Its like a hit and miss. I dont never know.. any ideas? 2004 chevy Tahoe 14:29

      Thanks! I would make sure the condenser is good and clean, or the cabin filter although I believe the 04 Tahoe may not have them. Or it could be your clutch not activated on the compressor could be going bad🤔

    What happens if your system is full with freon? Then what do you do?

    • @MiGo713
      @MiGo713  20 днів тому +1

      You can go to the A/C shop and they can remove it for you, after your new compressor is installed they can put a vacuum on the system and refill it, that what I usually have them do. They usually take it out and put it back in for the same 1 labor charge but you may have to ask them in your area, hope that helps!
