Hey Friend! I am teaching a course on solo adventure filmmaking and the first online session is in 2 days!! 🚀 Stop putting off making videos you are proud of. This will be 8 weeks that will change your storytelling forever. We extended the registration for those who missed it last week. You've got 48hs! Hey Levi, I would love to take this course. I wanted to know about the live sessions. I'm in Australia and not sure I'll be able to make these with the time difference...I see you have a couple of times listed for some sessions. Are they available after they go live? Sorry if I missed this info online. Cheers 😊
Yeah I don't get it. I make videos too. Mine aren't that good so I understand why I don't get huge views. I just do it because I really enjoy making them. Levi is a great film maker and story teller. This should be a 100k+ video.
Epic Levi! The cinematography, the storytelling, the edit... blown away by how you've captured your experience in Spatsizi. Grateful the stars aligned for this to happen. Already looking forward to the next adventure!
Some thoughts: 1) research fasting. You don't actually need to fear going without food for extended periods of time - after your body adjusts to it you'll even have abundant energy. When you said you felt like laying down and would call the trip off if you didn't catch fish I was thinking you'd benefit from that knowledge so you wouldn't fear - just rest for a few days and you'd be fine. 2) the fish can probably hear you yelling and talking, wouldn't it be better to fish silently and stealthily? Especially way up north where the fish and other wildlife aren't accustomed to humans. 3) awesome raft, I want one! 4) it seems like nature gets more epic and majestic the further north - I remember driving through BC and Alberta and being soooo amazed! I'm kinda jealous, I'd love to travel way way up there. 5) you're wiser than you realize admitting your own mind is your greatest fear. 6) really enjoyed watching this, good job, I am always impressed with the patience it must take to create these projects doing everything twice etc :)
This is absolutely beautiful!! The amount of work must have been staggering. We've been following you for years and this and Untethered are true cinematic works of art. Let's get this past a million views!!!
Heck of a video buddy. But maybe take a couple freeze dried meals for back up. That was a very real risk you took. I understand it, but at least one emergency ration for when you’re waiting on rescue. Good stuff, I’ll subscribe. Stay safe.
Saying “Hi” from the Netherlands, subscribed immediately after only watching your video half way. Love the scenery, your honest storytelling and last but certainly not least your stunning videography!! Wow, you deserve much more views!! Very interested in the gear you use and the editing you’ve done so I’m on the edge on my seat for more content (will watch older videos after this one for sure) 😊
Incredible filming, honest dialogue...man, you are a natural at curating a wildlife story...please do another Edit: I am now watching your other films...wish I had found these earlier...so good
What an incredible film my friend. Holy! The suspense of you finding food was stressful for me as a viewer! I’m glad you finally caught something and had such a wonderful experience. I agree with the ending of your film and this was just wow. Congrats buddy!
Just saw this and your channel for the first time and within the first 5 minutes I was blown away by just the quality of your video. I hope you had as great a time making this as I did watching it. :)
Levi, this is a masterpiece. I have been watching your videos for years, and this is the best one I have seen-not just from you, but from others on UA-cam as well. Amazing work! The story, imagery, sound design, and intro (which I watched twice) are all exceptional, and even the thumbnail stands out. I applaud you. I truly hope this video performs well; it can be disheartening when our best work doesn't succeed on UA-cam. I hope that does not happen, but if by any chance it does, remember that we, your loyal audience, appreciate your work, and I definitely consider this your best work.
This video is incredible! The production quality is top-notch, and the adventure is truly epic. I really appreciate you putting this together. I’m excited for two reasons: first, content like this is so rare on UA-cam these days, with most of it being short clips, but this feels like it belongs on Netflix. Second, the adventure itself is something every guy dreams of experiencing. Outstanding work, brother! 👊 As for your course, I’m sure it’s great. While I can’t join at the moment, I hope to in the near future!
This is my favorite part of your channel. Love your solo adventures, and love that you challenge yourself. I feel so fortunate to live in this amazing province. Thanks for another epic film.
I’m watching this video and had to comment before I saw it all. What a great video and scenery. I love solo canoeing it’s extremely satisfying. I’m 73 and still enjoy it all be it not as long and strenuous as a few years ago. I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you
This is unbelievable brother. The fact that you are able to tell such an incredible story while doing everything solo is mind boggling to me. Definitely my favorite film of yours to date. Bravo.
Congratulations man. Really fantastic film. The shots were beautiful, the coverage you got while traveling/fishing was impressive, but the tension you were able to create... man... every time the music dipped I thought you were going to catch a fish. It sounds silly but I really was on the edge of my seat. Well done. This edit must have been a bear (I can totally empathize as I am currently sitting on at least 5 trips of footage that I haven't even touched!), but hope you feel it was worth it in the end because man, what a beautiful achievement. Cheers.
So many youtubers giving advice about how to film stuff... and they dont really film much buy themselves at their desks. So cool to see you pushing the limits and making incredible footage all at the same time. The footage looks incredible, and it was fun to join for the ride.
Amazing job Levi! Beautiful video, awesome message at the end, and so impressed that you filmed all this alone, while hungry and getting swarmed by bugs! How did you enjoy learning to fly fish? After growing up learning to fish with a 'conventional' spin rod, I spent 30 days mountaineering in the wilderness with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and learned to fly fish in the mountains of Wyoming. This video brought back some of those fond memories! Thanks for sharing these awesome stories with us!
Levi, this is a stunning video! The picture, the editing, the sound - super! You created such tension that I screamed when the fish jumped out of your hands. Thank you for the emotions and warmth in your work, for the energy and experience that you share!
I cannot lie; I laughed my arse off when that fish squirted out of your hand! 😅😂🤣🥲😋 I have fasted for 48 hours at a time - of my own free will. But, I didn't go out into the wilds and expect myself to set up camp, build a fire... to say nothing of the endless hours of paddling... Much respect, man... Exquisite shots of the wilderness up there. Thank you - This video is as close as I'll ever get to it myself. 👍👍
A delight to have discovered this channel tonight. It combines my two passions in an awesome way! As someone with ADHD being alone can be so f*cking amazing. But when the scary thoughts come, oh boy your brain won't shut up. Nevertheless, it's part of the challenge and it has its up sides as well of course.
I am having a hard time forming the words to explain how much I love this. But I do. So very much. Well filmed, beautiful scenery and relevant to someone who has been & still is somewhat, afraid of the dark. But I loved everything about this. Your honesty and your fishing and joy with catching your fish. I take my Great Dane/Mastiff cross into the woods around the Kootenays. But I know I'll have to lay in a tent in the dark sooner rather than later. And when I do, I hope to stay as centered and realistic as you were. Thanks for making, arranging, editing, and posting this!
This was awesome Levi, proud of you! That moment when you land the fish and unhook it before you dispatch it was heartbreaking and I was screaming at the screen! I'm glad you got it done and finished the journey!
Really one to be proud of, Levi👏 The moment you dropped that fish, I really felt your frustration. Great storytelling, excellent quality, just a delight to watch. Congrats!
Oh man. This was fantastic. Thanks for sharing that with us and for being real in the process. Your laugh is contagious even in the challenging spots. Dropping that first fish! You rock bro. ✌
Absolutely stellar film! Great storytelling. When the fish dropped I felt it, and I celebrated with you when you caught the two at the end. Keep doing what you are doing! Thank you for sharing this piece with us. 👏 👏 👏
Great film and an experience that will be part of your life forever. Thank you for sharing it all with us. It must be a huge relief to finally have this film done and online! I hope you are happy with the result. In my opinion all the effort was worthed. Thank you so much, Levi!
I love being out there by myself without the phone, I see and hear more by myself, it also makes me miss my family and friends so that I appreciate them more.
First of all, really kudos to you for the huge dedication of filming this by yourself. It is always demanding to film yourself but un this case it had to be extremely complex, so, really, I admire your dedication!!! That said, beautiful film and amazing storytelling Levi! Bravo!!
Man Levi, what a video! You keep adding to the incredible amount of “dad lore” you’ve got! I love watching these videos because I feel like I can live vicariously through you. Much love from the east coast!
I watch a lot of outdoor videos of folks camping in the wild for days, or in the wintertime, multiday canoe trips, etc. The editing on this was fantastic and was a great watch. Thank you. This was the first video I have seen on your channel. Will definitely watch more.
What a beautiful video and message. I have been suffering from severe anxiety my whole life, and accepting to live with fear is the only way to move forward. Just know that with this video you are contributing to conservation efforts: documenting and capturing the beauty of nature is a key way to make people want to protect it. You gained a new subscriber!
Wonderful film, and the best part was you being so open about yourself. Yup, you have to just keep living as the person you are. I think you also found out that you’re more brave than you thought you were. I don’t think I’ve ever been anything but alone with my thoughts, but I have rarely been more than a few minutes from other people. Or food.
Levi am I just now learning you are younger than me?! What an epic adventure! Can’t wait to learn how you made the film with adventure film academy! This is the storytelling I need in my own adventures! Thanks for sharing
I found myself screaming out loud "WHY AREN'T YOU USING YOUR NET????". very entertaining. as a seasoned outdoorswoman, I can say it-foolish to go with no food, but adventurous and entertaining nonetheless.
WOW! My favorite film so far. This has inspired me to film me doing something that scares and grounds me. Thank you for taking us on the ride. It was phenomenal.
I have been subscribed and following you for many, many years. Loving your videos, but this one beats them all. I'm writing this just 5 minutes in your video. It's captivating! Thank you.
Regardless of your fears, you're spot on when you said ; "face Them!" No way in Hades can I come close to the "feels" that you're going through. I'm 82 and my hangup is "Heights". I haven't tried to conquer them, as you have done. At this point, I just live with it and try to stay away from the obvious. Thank You so much for being totally honest with your viewers & subscribers. Support has a lot of Strength and Positive Energy to help a young person such as yourself. Hang in there. Keep posting your content and always stay Safe & Healthy!!
After watching a couple survival shows about doing this exact thing, I’ve never seen anything like this with the amount of cinematic detail and suspense with that fish! Oh man that must have hurt! Good work brother!
Loved the whole thing, but the cinematography was next level. As a lifelong fly fisherman, the story about needing to catch a fish so that you could eat really resonated with me, it made the adventure even better to follow. I like to cook those little guys whole, the meat falls off the bone and you don’t lose anything while filleting , but I do like what you did there. Great video.
Love the new film man. As a fly fisherman I was yelling at you to stay out and fish different areas right behind you. As someone who once had to learn to find those spots I felt your pain. Great work friend in one of my fave places in the world. Beautiful
I have been camping in the wilderness all my life, I’ve travelled to so many places, train hopping, hitchhiking, biking, motorcycling, driving… I have slept on rooftops and parks in Vancouver, San Francisco, NYC. I lived in a cabin in the Yukon, in Quebec, in Wyoming. Picked fruits in New Zealand, worked as a rock sculptor in Paris, been a truck driver in a Pete 389 cross border in North America, helped as a sound engineer in different venues… i’ve done so much and the outdoor always has been my favourite. I always find myself coming back to wanting to go on a 2 week canoe trip or on a sled dog adventure. I loved it deeply. And sometimes I watch UA-cam and I see so many UA-camrs nowadays getting out there and filming themselves. They get hundred thousands of followers. They get there with over 20k of gear fitting in a backpack. Make great cinematic short film and put dedication into this lifestyle. And I admire that but more than 50% of the time, I unfortunately find it cringe, or sad in a way… I never tell anyone what to do, i’ve met so many different people and i’ve been in so many situations and felt lots of different emotions all my life. I rarely find stuff cringe. I just don’t give a f usually. But yeah man these UA-camrs nowadays lol haha yeah sometimes that’s cringe. Felt like I needed to say that. But in the end I don’t care. It feels weird thinking that I could have filmed all my life and adventures and put it on UA-cam and I probably would be a millionaire…but I would have never had all that great free time and amazing life that I lived. Just cause I’d be busy editing, promoting, planning, working, caring, spending and yeah to each their own. So I suggest to the viewer, try to go out a bit much and enjoy, don’t just watch videos, go do it. That’s a suggestion. Good night
@@jbroadbentmr2 just sharing my perspective. Everyone’s free to have their own opinion, right? If long comments bother you, you can always skip ’em. Take care!
Levi, thank you for being such an inspiration for people like myself. The storytelling, epic cinematography and your genuine dedication to the craft blows me away. I’m genuinely so driven to keep pushing and honing my skills as an adventure filmmaker. Thank you friend. Keep creating 🤌🏼🔥👊🏼
Just stumbled on your channel I can’t wait to take my son on some back country trips (he’s 2 so still have a while) like this one. A gear load out for the trip would be cool too.
This is beautiful Levi. I love how committed you were to get all those beautiful shots even while starving. Solid effort my friend 👏 I’d love to know how many GB of footage you went home with 😂
Yerba maté is my go to survival drink. Can even be steeped with out hot water. Less jitters than coffee, more mental clarity. Has lots of minerals and bioactive compounds. Been used by people of the Andes mountains for times of great endeavours or distress. (From enduring famine to treking over mountain ranges). Kept me alive living in a tent in the woods in the canadian pacific wet coast winters
This was stunning editing man props to you for adding that end bit too helps a lot more than you'd think keep up the quality content btw give this man more love he should be hitting the millions
You are a amazing! I've watched many, many adventure videos and experienced some myself during my 60+ years. You have the quiet courage few have. Within 2 mins of starting this video i became a subscriber. Please keep em coming as much as you can
An absolutely epic adventure Levi ! Some absolutely amazing shots as well. When you were going through the rapids I was yelling at you to stop and fish there LOL ! Shade overhangs or lily pads are usually great spots to score as well. Cheered when you did land those fish, likely one of the best meals you ever had ! Always look forward to more adventures from you 👍
I think of it as fasting ......very good as long as you drink plenty of water, find berries and mushrooms and edible Pine needles that you make tea with. beettle grubs .....try keep on being positive in your adventure. I think it is a challenge good for your soul and being outside a blessing.
awesome video lad! Nice paddle too…unfortunately you are using it upside down!! Haha. The asymetrical paddles have the angled blade on the down side, entering the water. It helps with equal loading of the paddle blade with good technique. Keep charging lad!
I love your vulnerability saying you are afraid…I am the same way. Living my best life by day, but spending a lot of the night in a tent or hammock hoping to fall asleep and my first wake up seeing the start of daylight. I don’t come back from camping trips very rested but the rest of the time makes the nights worth it.

Your channel doesn’t get nearly enough love, my dude. You’ve been grinding it out for a long time, and your videos keep getting better.
Agreed!
I appreciate that!
Yep, one of my favourite channels. But I’m kinda glad he hasn’t millions of subs because it feels more personal.
Yeah I don't get it. I make videos too. Mine aren't that good so I understand why I don't get huge views. I just do it because I really enjoy making them. Levi is a great film maker and story teller. This should be a 100k+ video.

You're the best!

Good night
Woulda shoulda coulda talk. Mans writing assays out here 😂

A couple of seconds and I'm already subscribing. What a great intro! Cheers 👊🏽
Super inspiring! Love it!
What a beautiful gift to us all! Thank you Levi this was a fantastic effort, your talent is deep.
I'm just having my branch in Kitsilano and watching this beautiful video. Thanks Levi
Just stumbled on your channel I can’t wait to take my son on some back country trips (he’s 2 so still have a while) like this one. A gear load out for the trip would be cool too.
Working on the gear video now
I’d say if you’re going to try this you should bring a spinning rod
This is beautiful Levi. I love how committed you were to get all those beautiful shots even while starving. Solid effort my friend 👏
I’d love to know how many GB of footage you went home with 😂
A fly rod is good for fooling around but you need a proper rod/reel and lures for the minnow chasing fish. At least if you want to eat. Nice going!
Keep that rod tip up when fish on!
I love Yerba Maté!
@Levi_Allen long live the chopped herb!
Great video adventure, i did that once, dropped a fish, i'll leave the hook in now if i do not have a net until i get onto shore lol.
I am definitely going to bring a net next time
I died when the fish dropped
Me toooo..
And I cried when He catched the second one...🥹🥹🤌
It was soooo predictable to anyone who's actually been fishing

Epic on so many levels!
This video made me feel. Thank you for that!
This was stunning editing man props to you for adding that end bit too helps a lot more than you'd think keep up the quality content btw give this man more love he should be hitting the millions
“I should probably be responsible and fish”. Wise words my friend.
Epic film Levi❤ looks wild! Good on you mate
why is it only the first time your video is in my feed ??? Wow good job on the editing and everything !!!
You are a amazing! I've watched many, many adventure videos and experienced some myself during my 60+ years. You have the quiet courage few have. Within 2 mins of starting this video i became a subscriber. Please keep em coming as much as you can
Absolutely beautiful video and amazing views. Thank you for blessing us with such a wonderfully shot video.
Wonderful story telling that's beautifully filmed and edited. It doesn't get better than that. Well done Levi! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Great work Levi! Great storytelling and beautiful cinematography.
Thanks a ton!
Always hold a fish through the Gill or by the lip. Much better chance of eating
Yeah… I’ve been learning that haha
Absolutely love the rawness of this film! So much inspiration to do trips like this!
Always look forward to more adventures from you 👍
Honestly Levi never fails to impress me with the cinematography. Awesome stuff man🔥🖖
The fact I can enjoy this audio only when doing chores is impressive work
Appreciate that! Lots of effort on that front
your commitment is storytelling and taking on seriously challenging concepts is extremely inspiring, keep on being you my friend!
Appreciate you Jon!
Dig the film and the adventure, drone shots were definitely the highlight!
This is amazing cinematography. Holy crap. The amount of time and effort that must’ve one in is staggering.
I think of it as fasting ......very good as long as you drink plenty of water, find berries and mushrooms and edible Pine needles that you make tea with. beettle grubs .....try keep on being positive in your adventure. I think it is a challenge good for your soul and being outside a blessing.
It was nice that this trip wasn’t very physically demanding
awesome video lad! Nice paddle too…unfortunately you are using it upside down!! Haha. The asymetrical paddles have the angled blade on the down side, entering the water. It helps with equal loading of the paddle blade with good technique. Keep charging lad!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Keep the slight curve toward you and flip the paddle end over end. So what is in your right hand is now in your left hand.
I just started watching but I have to compliment you. The video already seems extremely well made, like a professional documentary 👌🏼
Wow... such incredible content man, the video quality, the editing, the explanations... you got my sub keep up the good work!
