- Soba is a type of thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheat flour. It is served either chilled with a dipping sauce, or in hot broth as a noodle soup. Moreover, it is common in Japan to refer to any thin noodle as soba in contrast to udon . It takes three months for buckwheat to be ready for harvest, so it can be harvested four times a year, mainly in spring, summer, and autumn.
In Japan, soba noodles are served in a variety of settings: they are a popular inexpensive fast food at train stations throughout Japan, but are also served by exclusive and expensive specialty restaurants. Markets sell dried noodles and men-tsuyu, or instant noodle broth, to make home preparation easy.
ありがとうございます。
テキストとCDは持っていましたが動画を探していました。
ワサビをごっちゃリ入れて蕎麦をジャブジャブに浸して食べるなんてヘンテコな食べ方を好むというのは彼独特のユーモアなのでしょう。
wow. there's a science to eating Soba? I'm gonna have a blast.
reminds me of "At the Movies with Siskel and Ebert"
「好きなのは鴨南蛮です」「おお。そうきましたか」、に笑いましたー。
Where can I get Ramen here in Germany?Lol,are there any shops which are selling already prepared Ramen?
looks yummy
I tried to slurp and I nearly choked. lol I'm getting better at it.
So freaking interesting.
Personally I found this to be very interesting and information. That may have something to do with my desire to understand more about soba, customs around eating it and comparisons with Western eating ways.
@PasswordOVER9000 I think they cropped this video off of a learn-English-TV-program for japanese people, I have seen such programs here in my country, they sound forced because they speak slowly to emphasize pronounciation, and the japanese subtitles translate what they are saying. greetings! :)
I'm Japanese. I ate "toshikoshi soba last year. I really love soba!!
@NoodlleFied Caps lock key stuck?
Hummmmm noodles
3:00 man I bet she must have amazing skills, haha
They are taking out "real" only from "stem of buckwheat" (^ ^)
At 2:40 at first I thought the narrator will explain how the sobe will come out of your nose if you slurp it.
そば・うどん・ラーメン
麺類をすすって食べるのが美味しいのは香りだけじゃないんだな
麺がするすると唇を通る食感これが麺を食べる一番の醍醐味じゃないかね
Nice info, Thank you, I like soba, but only can buy instan in here ( jakarta )... still yummy........:)
it's personal preferences.. yet , i agreed in eating it quietly... i hate eating anything with sounds though..
As much as I appreciate this video, the conversation between the two men is so awkwardly scripted
As there is a food culture to grab and eat by hand in India, Japan has a food culture to eat sounds to eat noodles deliciously(^^)
sorry bud, Tarzan does not swing on that vine
@LiangHuBBB Cocoro ramen at Berlin you must eat it! german Meister made.
Oh my god I wonder what it must be like at a soba restaurant...the slurping...
The dish that understands the taste of buckwheat flour is the "cold soba"(^^)
How do u not slob sauce all over your face when slurping? Is there a trick to it?
+LadySilverWolfe You see any sauce on the man's face?
soba :) ramen with tons of water ^^
I slurp noodles just to piss off people in the restaurant, didnt know there was science to it!
SAKE!!!
When making sake with fish dishes, it becomes very tasty(^^)
Informative. The conversation between the two is awkward to watch because it feels forced.
haha Kanda from D-Gray Man
Erza Scarlet oh ma gurd!! u know kanda
I heard that in Japan it's very rude to put a used chopstick back into the shared serving platter. If you want something, you should use the end of the chopstick that didn't touch your mouth to grab it and put it on your own plate. But in this vid at :40 it looks like everybody is sticking their used chopsticks back into the communal dish. Isn't that unsanitary?
puns of damage
I love Soba Noodles.:-P:-) What do Welsh Onions taste like?I'm not sure if people should slurp their Soba Noodles. It seems rude to me.This video's informative.
mmm... yeah... informative.. and awkward..
Bad acted xD
+CopyKid I actually found the "bad acted"-ness cute, brings a casual, light and humorous tinge to the show -- whereas 99% of other shows are acted seriously and are all just the same as such.
When I watch America eats ramen without sounds in order to be so classy, I feel so eerie. It's hard to explain, so weird.
Hey, America, it is not time to be so pretentious!! It's time to taste the delicacy the best way. You are not eating macaroni & cheese here!
Japanese food is boring.
Dishes deliciously eating "vegetables and fish and rice" with miso, soy sauce, sake, mirin and soup is the origin of Japanese cuisine (^ ^)
