Some people are just blessed. Forget self taught, i learnt sql at university, this is 20 years ago. I still cant land a job because they want working experience. I self taught myself power bi and they still dont want to know. I only ever got employed for my excel skills. Job market is messed up, everyone wants experience but nobody is willing to give you that experience.
Very insightful conversation, I'm passionate about agriculture and food security in underdeveloped countries. I want to use data analytics and data science skills to identify and solve problems. Thank you Sundas and Alex for the great information you always share
I don't really understand why people tend to focus on the tools, instead of focusing on the process of data analytics asking the right questions getting sn idea of what the stakeholders might need and then getting the data cleaning and preparing the data getting insights creating visuals it s about the process if you understand the process you can work with any tool available even if it s SQL, Excel Access Tableau or any other tools
Hey Sundas, just a thumbs up! You are doing a really good job with getting professional’s in there field on the channel! Please continue doing this Its actually a lot helpful and provides good insights!
As someone currently enrolled in a CS program and considering focusing on data analytics/science, the bit about Ai in this video was very reassuring. Thank you both!
I love these kind of podcast conversations On the other hand there is so much talk about layoffs and that it’s not worth it to switch into IT Learning new stuff is what I enjoy but there is some uncertainty
Chat GPT is very good at analyzing at dataset and helps you build recommendations based on its insights. But again it is as good as the data is and obviously the analyst does have more visibility than the chatGPT over the set of data so he/she can always add value.
Should I choose Python as a subject? My friend is taking classes from Moonpreneur and says it’s a good career option. She also mentioned it’s easier compared to C++.
In every job we work with data. So after your degree diploma certificate or anything you can still learn data analysis to a certain level and up to whatever level you can go to but society still respects higher education. We have to realise that modern education is stuffed with well arranged knowledge that has just been put together and most of it has always been there.... so choose your path and go with it...
I just watched your video on the harsh realities of Data Analyst jobs. With over 10 years of experience in legacy systems within the IT industry, I’m looking to transition into data analytics. Currently, I am upskilling through online courses and am considering pursuing a master's degree in this field. Do you think this is a worthwhile path to take, or would you recommend a different approach based on your experience?
He changed his path to data analytics and is successful may be he is intelligent too. What about a guy who is not intelligent, should he opt the same pathway?
@@SundasKhalid I enjoyed it indeed, especially the reassurance that it will take a while before gen ai will pass the Turing's test 😉 Regards from Ireland 😉
Wait, wait wait. I'm a student we are currently studying Python. So what are you talking about what should I focus on as a junior programmer. I live in Sweden. Please give me advice while I'm still on the course wouldn't like to finish and continuing then knowing that all I did was mostly in vain when I could of had taken another route.
In python you should focus on the appropriate lybraries. Pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, numpy. As a DA you won't need to know how to make rock-paper-scissors game.
I would be extremely happy to work as a Data analyst for $15 per hour, and probably wouldn't turn down $12 per hour offer. Considering this, what are my chances of finding fully remote, entry level Data analyst job in US company while living in Europe?
I’d say it’s possible but the competition is fierce. Curious on why you want to get a job in US while living in Europe? Why not get a remote job in Europe?
@@SundasKhalid Because in Europe $12 per hour is an average Data analyst salary, and as far as I understood, $12 per hour is like 30% of average US data analyst salary, so I was thinking that companies would be quite interested for someone who is interested in working for 30% of salary they offer.
I appreciate your enthusiasm in data analysis, but there's no reason to sell yourself short. I mean... for $15 an hour?! Data analysis for minimum wage!?
Alex lost me when he said that Statistics is a Strech over Computer Science so he would choose Computer Science 😀😀. Obviously, he has no idea what level of Math is needed to survive a real accredited Computer Science degree program. He doesn't know that Computer Science students learn Statistics in their first year as a foundational base requirement in their program in order to tackle some harder and more advanced classes and problems: like differential equations and Scientific programming and numerical analysis and stochastic models...etc
"One of my favorite things in tech is working with people!" In the next breath, "I can't stand meetings," (where people are congregated) - what a joke. I think if I were to hire this guy I would have him managing the meeting minutes. He's funny actually - he enjoys getting in deep with stored procedures. Hhahahaha - I have news for you - stored procedures and everything SQL is NOT granular enough in today's tech world to do anything interesting with data. It's quite arrogant that he proclaims to be "Alex the Analyst." No you are Alex an analyst - not the. What arrogance. Alex is wearing a Posit shirt. I wonder how many innovative functions he's created and what the value proposition was with what he developed. The answer folks, if I'm guessing, is this guy hasn't done jackie mcgeee d*78ck with either R or Python, and if he has he SHOULD be talking about it.

Hello ma'am....loads of love from india. I follow you...big fan of yours...
You have misspelled your name. It should be Sundus. It is pronounced Soondoos, not Soondaas.

Thanks for having me on the channel! First time I’ve talked to a human in years 😁
You are the best, Alex!! Thanks for letting me roll and so glad we finally got to meet in person.
The only 2 youtubers i follow in the data field made a collab. 🎉🎉🎉
Yayyy hope you enjoyed the conversation!!
Loved the video ❤ thank you to both for your time and efforts
Thank Sunda and Alex. I learnt Data Cleaning from Alex which also inspired me to enroll for IBM Data Science Prof Cert.

Great video.
Two great mentors in the Data space.
I am more pumped to keep pushing.
Thank you for this.
Omg it's Alex! So happy to see him as someone who is following his bootcamp and aiming to transition into data career.

He made me confident in SQL.
Bro SQL is boss when dealing with large data sets in my opinion.
It is not AI replacing data scientists, but data scientists and AI replacing other traditional jobs.
Dear Sundas Kindly keep this exciting work of having to chat with these inspiring guys.Big shout out from Peshawar.🎉
If I were going back I’d get engineering. I still hate on myself for switching out of it into marketing
What’s wrong with marketing
Very interesting conversation. Thank you for sharing!
Of course. It's never been just about Excel, SQL and Python. The engine, the core of Data Science, and if you can't do math, you really can't do DS.
What kind of maths you really need in DS?
I love these kind of podcast conversations

Alex remains my inspiration on this journey, the truth is he is a super house with all the kindness you can think of
Wow, I’m an occupational therapist studying data analytics now and getting an MBA. I hope I can make the transition too.

Communication is key. Often time those requesting the data aren’t really sure what they need.

Correction: It depends what you prompt ChatPT with to write code.
He changed his path to data analytics and is successful may be he is intelligent too. What about a guy who is not intelligent, should he opt the same pathway?
Being intelligent is just a myth. It's all about how disciplined and determined you are for a skill of your lifetime.
Consistency over being born smart
No way! And as i see its a yes way!!! Cool to see you 2 chatting, the world is getting smaller i think 😂 ok, i better listen to your chat now😉

Got tips for working on SQL or Excel for 4 hours a night when you worked all day?
In one of his very old videos, he said that he stayed up studying until very late at night.
How would you go about finding a good recruiter who can work with you target good job in a company?
I thought something like dont learn but live with it
I don't think anyone wants to be a data analyst, but 100k is the new 50k in America. Do what you need to do to survive.
Nowadays mantra is don’t learn anything go do farming . Farming will be last thing AI will touch 😂
please list out scenarios in data cleaning where chat gpt cant handle?

It's never too late
"priview" just bothers me.
Kinda weird to fan girl over someone for what job they do. Theres more to people than their career, their personality is more than that

Why you choose Tableau not Power bi?
For one tableau seamlessly connect to cloud sql engine/storage ie Athena, s3
Lol what a thumbnail 🤣 python overtook javascript and u are saying don't learn python nice great 👍
