Thank you guys so much for all the love and support! I appreciate it all so much 🥹
I just posted A TON of resources in the description to help you guys get started on your own as well. But I’ll be posting more in depth videos as the weeks go on. Let me know any topics you want me to cover and I’ll try my best to get to it!
Yall are the best! Much love 💙
Is Data Analyst the same as Data Specialist?
Great and informative video :)
I appreciate the editing and flow of the topics
thanks Josh 🥹🥹 ahhh much love 🩵🫶🏼
Great video! Thanks for sharing, Tim!
awww thank you for the comment!! Anytime, I’m glad you enjoyed! 😁
doesn’t feel like watching a lecture of data things like other videos, your videos feels more like a conversation with enjoyable talks, thank u for walking us through the data insights, i see you coming big 👊
awww wait I’m so glad 😭 that was my goal! To make it seem like we’re out and grabbing a cup of coffee together :’)
Nice job on the video! Not easy to be yourself and still provide information in an easy to digest way while keeping it entertaining!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Gonna be crushing UA-cam the more you create. Thanks for the recommendations of the various courses.
😭😭 thank you so much! I’m super excited for whats to come! I’m glad I could help 🫶🏼
you are underrated as hell bro ,well done keep going bro.....
🥹 thank you so much! You da best, I appreciate the kind words so much! 💙🫶🏼
Such helpful video! Do you have to have a very good understanding of Python to succeed in data analysis because I am currently going for a bachelors in data analysis and just finished taking a programming class and I struggled a lot with this.
great question! python is only necessary if you want to go into Data Science!
i’d you’re just trying to be a Data Analyst, having just the basics of python is okay! really knowing SQL is the important part!
best of luck in your studies! you got this!!
DA = SQL + BI TOOL (plus EXCEL)
Om I love your editing!
awww 🥹 thank you so much!! That’s so sweet of you to say!
Hey Yoh I am actually doing practice on mysql and I have to reinstall the software again and again everytime I want to use it and all the data and practice questions I left behind just vanishes. I still can't find a video for any assistance kindly help😂!
This is the best break down of what DA is on UA-cam.
awww 🥺 thank you so much! I really appreciate that
I loved the story telling in the beginning. Made me stay til the end.
🥹🥹 thank you for saying that! I always try to make the story the focal point in my videos !
You da best!
Randomly stumbled on here, great video! I didn't care too much about the content, but they're solid advice and knowledge to anyone who's interested in the field. Love seeing more asian faces with good content and delivery on here, kudos!
Awww thank you so much for the kind words!! 🥹 I’m glad what I’m saying is valid and is helpful for others!
also yes yes! Love making the platform more diverse 😁
Fantastic presentation, fantastic analysis line, really likeable guy. What's not to like? SQL?
🥹🥹 thank you so much! You are too kind and too sweet!
how is it possible to work in more than one company at the same time (only if it is freelancing or part time i think)... i am a data analyst and im looking for doing something similar as working in many companies at the same time........btw you are about to be my favorite youtuber data analyst
awww thank you so much for the kind words!! 🥹 that means so much!
I actually worked for all those companies at separate times and not all at once :’) l
however from what I do know, working for multiple companies gets tricky and you want to make sure that there’s no conflicting and sensitive company data that could give either company an advantage… I believe that falls under trade secrets and could potentially be illegal depending on the companies
As a fresher it's difficult to get a job as DA, It's even better if you go for ML or AI as a additional skill it will create more opportunity currently, Im also learning Data modeling, Python Libs, ETL framework for Data Engineering role. ✌️
Yes! Those are all skills I’ve learned too and I highly recommend! It makes a big difference to help you stand out more
More technical skills the better!
DA is probably the only entry level job. ML AI?? Maybe
great video, subscribing! (buttt, the pop sounds got super annoying 💀)
bro… teach me the advanced ways around SQL. i know the basics but wow it gets complex lol
Subscribed!
yessir! I gotchu, I’ll get more into the details as more videos come out 😁 excited to share what i know!
thanks a lot!!! that was so informative T_T
im a freshman pursuing a business degree, and i do wanna get a foot in that door
can i ask, besides all the tools needed (which i'm self-learning), how can i develop a better business sense?
i mean its kinda abstract and i really dont know how to dive into it (w_w)
and can u give me some tips or things that i should learn/prepare when i'm a business-based student in order to have a certain edge over other tech-based candidates?
thank youuuuuu!!
awww I’m glad I could help!
In terms of being more business minded just always think about the needs of the company. What exactly they NEED and build around that. Too many talented people in tech focus on building what they want and it often causes unnecessary set backs.
For other tips, it depends on what kind of business you’re going into! Not sure what your focus is on so can’t really give a detailed answer on that
@@TimothyJoo thank uuu 😍✌️
what is your major at UW that leads you to become data analyst?
informatics @ UW Seattle! I’ve got a whole video explaining the major and all the classes I took at university if you wanna take a look :’)
ua-cam.com/video/h5NIOzv4OC0/v-deo.htmlsi=GQoAHc_B6UVFDMkz
I just got into informatics@uw, thanks for sharing this
love that! Go DAWGS! 😤 info is amazing and I’m sure you’ll have a great time!
idk whats so cringe about this.. but ima tough it out and try and finish the video
Is this the same as Data Specialist? If not is Data Specialist easier than being a Data Analyst?
Love your coolness
awww thank you! you seem really cool too :D
am planning to do a career switch, I work as a video editor the pay for the media industry where I'm at right now is so low, one could only survive eating grass and lizards lol... jokes aside* Any advise for a brotha novice to kick start as a data analyst?
I feel that... i do editing on the side for a pretty large UA-cam channel and the pay has been awful
I would say start learning hard skills like SQL and Excel, then apply them to a project! The only thing between you and a person in the industry is experience. Since you are new, you need to make your own experience and then go from there!
Thankfully a lot of resources and ways to make your own project! i just made a video about that if you do need some easy initial pointers!
ua-cam.com/video/RcP7nq3tJV4/v-deo.htmlsi=vfHiHna4H8_bk4GX
im gonna keep making videos about self project making soon so keep on the look out for those!
@@TimothyJoo Thanks for the resource! Keep dropping these gems!
Definitely brotha!
What happen to all the entry data analyst roles? I guess no one left their jobs or they completely removed it
yeah… I’ll go more in depth in a Q&A video but it’s just the job market 😭
TLDR: too much supply and not enough demand of workers
@@TimothyJoo ty 4 the response
I like your content but I think you should try to go light on having that “i am a cool person” vibe such as “sipping coffee every 20 seconds” lool😂
Please answer, you are remote or office working
depends on the role! most companies want in office working post pandemic
I personally believe all data roles should be fully remote. With nearly all systems in the cloud, there's no reason to be in person besides better collaboration. Most Data work is done on our own too!
I'm still searching for my new role at the moment, but definitely prioritizing remote or hybrid work.
@@TimothyJoo I really liked your reply to my question Thank you
Great Video brother! A video on the day to day use of SQL would be great for a beginner like me. Kindly, let us know how " much " SQL must one know to be considered a good technical data analyst? Subscribed!
ooooo this is a great idea! I’ll make a video on this topic! Thank you so much!
SIR!? A FORK?!?!?!?
LOOOL i feel so exposed 🤣
Tnx for all the value in this video!
But please stop sipping your coffee that much, it kind of breaks the rythm😅
awww I’m glad! Also HAHA I will chill on the coffee, that’s my fault 🤣🤣
I was trying to make it more interesting but maybe it was too distracting LOL
Great video but if I see you slurping your coffee in any other videos I will not make it to the end
HAHAHA whoops, i may have done a lil too much ASMR 🤣
why not python, you will do a lot of analysis using python
Great question! Python def leans more towards data science and using Machine Learning Models! So more towards that business intelligence engineer position
Using SQL is the industry standard and it’s a simpler way to do it, esp working with databases and such! Plus it’s what most analysts require more so than Python
Good one .. but where are the links of resources of learning😮
omg… my fault! I’m so sorry about that, I’ll add in some good learning resources that I know of in the description when I get back home!
I hope it helps!
I just linked a bunch of resources to help you get started!
I’ll also be posting more in depth videos like Joins, Sub Queries, and Case Statements in the upcoming weeks so look out for those too! :D
Great video but enough with the coffee
Thanks for the video but please please please never do this sips again it’s so freaking annoying, I barely could focus on the video
LOOL I’m sorry I’ll make sure to be cognizant of that 🤣🤣
well, i think it’s not everyone has a same problem with u, i’m actually enjoying it
Stop with the pop sounds and sipping. Spoilt the video and made me lose interest
We would appreciate the video more if we wouldn't had to hear you gobling that coffee .. fuck sake mate
Please don’t drink during the videos 🙄🤢
