The harrier has a tail hook? I really don't know never tried the module or even looked to see if it had a hook now that I think about it!

I also fly the AV-8B Harrier which doesn’t have a tail hook. It has VSTOL capabilities usually lands vertically on carriers. As it says in the title, it’s an F-18. I usually play with a 2k screen but I wanted to bump the fps up so I played in 1080p (recording with OBS in 2k needs a lot of GPU). Also max graphics makes a huge difference.

@@znatrix I knew the VSTOL part just was not super sure about the hook. You really made it look like it was hooked until you kind made the oh shit at the end!! was thinking well maybe it does have one for heavy landings figured the harrier hover is pretty weight restricted right? Can you hover takeoff with a rack full of mark 82's and a bunch of bags of fuel or is that a rolling take off because of the weight? Need to buy the Module but I got my brain full with the damn F-16 & the Apachie now. Helicopters is just a whole new animal. It really made me think about all those Iroquois "Huey" Pilots in Vietnam running around at 100+ knots 50-500 feet away from an AK round. Just crazy, hell in the Viper ill mess with a ZSU ill even do a high speed fly by on it. in the damn Apachie im not getting close to even a BTR or T-72 let alone a ZSU! I Learned tank rounds and Apache's don't mix they can hit you and will! Just a whole new animal
I'm running 2k now as well. So I get cranky looking at 1080p lol you know how it is.. id be running 4k if they would ever make a 32"+ Curved 4k-8k 165hz screen that was affordable. I run 3x Gigabyte G32QC screens on a single mount it Nvidia Surround. I have 90 Inch's of curved screen it kind of looks like Warthog Projects screen setup but smaller. I'm currently running a single EVGA RTX 3080 ftw3 ultra but think I'm going to upgrade to a 4090 soon. the surround will take about 20fps off your top mark so need a bit extra uumph Stereo Surround is pretty awesome in DCS Cuz I fly the 16 & Apachie and I have the left window on the left screen and it curves all the way around to the right window. I got it setup so your peripheral vision works like it normally would. Just built this system a few years ago. Its an i9 X299 with a Intel 10900X. All it needs is another 128mb of ram and I think it will be good. maybe 512 Cuz I do shit overkill sometimes Cuz I can lol Think I'm getting laggy FPS Cuz there is not free RAM and my mission load up times are horrible. sorry for the book I can type really fast but cant spell and grammer worth a shit lol

@@WickedOne-1979 Sick setup! As I said, the plane in this video was an F/A-18C Hornet, not a Harrier. And I own the Harrier module and it doesn't have a hook. For heavy operations the Harrier can perform STOL landings or just dump most of the fuel to get the weight down.
