For those of you who have issues watching on mobile, this video is also available on my Facebook Page: facebook.com/TimeKeeperXCII/
TimeKeeper XCII Star Tours, what are you doing here?
VR tends to eat up a lot of phone battery
Kinda wish there was a “lights on” version so I could figure out all of Rex’s movements. That must have taken a lot of work to do in of itself.
Wow, for a recreation of the ride, this was perfectly done. Took me out of it a bit with the Space Invaders added to the areas, but it was still superbly done.
I can't imagine how much work went into this. This is insane! I can't wrap my head around the fact that this was done. Seriously. Thank you to all involved.
INCREDIBLE! Thank you for this. Wonderful job!
"All ships, jump to light speed"
"Hang on back there, light speed!!!"
This is awesome lol. I miss R-3X.
Wow! awesome job and really on point with all the little tricks. Rex looking at the audience as he almost rams the x-wing, the last minute pulling in front of that turret before going into the trench. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for remaking the experience.
I actually got to ride the original Star Tours before they remodeled it, and this is extremely close to the real thing! You are a legend! Thank you so much for this!
Wait, the Rebel Pilot was a Space Invader this whole time?
So basically there was a video which I’m pretty sure the video he’s using for the on ride screen and since they couldn’t get footage of the rebel pilot they replaced it with the space invader Lol
This is amazing. It's not only a great documentation of the original ride, but also a way to relieve it, in your own house, no less! Thanks to people like you, the work, creativity and chilhood experiences of many people is not lost, so this ride will forever be brand new for generations of kids to come, all thanks to your effort.
Too bad the people who should be preserving this, simply removes it like some old furniture to make space for lifeless rides that can't compare to the originals
That is amazing, I had goosebumps! I miss the original version of the ride. This is an excellent re-creation.
i rode this ride a million times growing up and i swear right before you go into the comet i remember him saying i have a really bad feeling about this ahhh ive seen diffrent vids and now wondering if i just made it up in my head
Cdawg816 I’m sure you’re right. That’s how I remember it too
The people in this comment section are terrible. Great work!
I didn't know my phone could do this and I'm completely amazed. That was one of the most incredible 4 minutes and 56 seconds I've ever experienced! Ya no, besides...
Holy 💩, this is fantastic. You probably don’t know this but I actually rode the original star tours before the refurb, and this is really close to the actual ride! 5/5 stars bro!
This is fucking incredible. I had the biggest grin on my face and goosebumps the whole video.
This video honestly has the best Star Tours audio on youtube, fantastic job editing!
This is incredible. Please make more of these, especially one for The Timekeeper in 360 if possible. Keep up the good work!
Thank you
"I meant to do that" Sums up Disney in a nutshell.
Yes Lol
Thanks for keeping it alive
This, My dude. Is freaking awesome. I just watched from my mobile VR headset, And it felt just as amazing as it does in real life. Deserves more likes btw.
the level of nostalgia actually brought a tear to my eye. I miss the ride, I've been to Disney world once in my life and this was undeniably my favorite ride there, made my parents take me on it 3 times. At the very least we know that RX is still around. last I heard he was repurposed as a DJ, but whoever reprogrammed him must be an idiot. He keeps malfunctioning and repeating lines from the old ride. Not to mention they swapped his reboot tone to the old star tours queue tone.
The memories
That was amazing! Would have liked to see the monitor footage recreated as well, but a truly phenomenal effort overall.
Just watched this on google cardboard. Absolutely brilliant!
Damn this is Pretty LEGIT work
Thank you, Had a big smile all the time. Looked great on Google Cardboard
I wish this had the original film and effects paired with the 3D animated characters. I don't think it would be hard to find the original master film on UA-cam. A simple texture/video swap with the cockpit window and boom.
Noah Zahradnik
it's just difficult to find it in HD quality.
ua-cam.com/video/YBxf7oH4rbw/v-deo.html I edited it to the best tribute of the original
Wow!!! simply amazing! great job on the details
Excellent work, may I suggest making an additional version that uses one of the online recordings of the original ride film? I wouldn't expect it to be as high quality as this, but it would undeniably feel very authentic.
There is raw footage of what was displayed on the screen during the ride which would be really neat to see integrated into this.
THIS IS AMAZINGGGG I SHED A TEAR
I love you.
YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!
Hey great video loved it so much it's like if I was on star tours keep up the good work
Oh my goodness! thank you!
Fantastic job. Thanks for this.
I never noticed that the robot Rex sounds like peewee herman
Well, Rex *is* voiced by Paul Reubens...
SplatSpringy
that's because it is Pee-wee Herman! Funny alot of people don't know that. However, I think it's for the best that most don't recognize his voice or his real name in the credits, otherwise Disney probably would have shutdown the ride after his indecent exposure scandal like they did with Alien encounter due to Jeffery Jones.
brickman409 Yup I've heard of his scandals
And the ships computer from Flight of the Navigator.
Oh? I thought they shutdown Alien Encounter because it scared the living daylights out of children, essentially scarring them for life.
I loved it! Although I think they should've gone easy with how tight the shoulder restraints got...felt like my whole neck area was bruised, even though it wasn't.
PLEASE DO ONE FOR BACK TO THE FUTURE THE RIDE!!!!
The Blu-Ray set actually has the Ride as a Bonus Feature, including all the pre-show videos, and the dashboard.
nah we want a full 360 VR one. This guy clearly does great work so it would be cool to see from him. Id even pitch in for a kickstarter for it
THE SITE |. i don’t want too
This is freaking awesome
Thank you for this.
Ever noticed that the Rebel Pilot that appears on the right screen, is a Space Invader?
thank you... I love you
Brilliant!
AMAZING!!!
Incredible!! 👍👍
Awesome work!
Uh mazing!
Merci.
I remember the droid have a flag on him that said "remove before flight." Bummed that detail wasn't included, but great memories.
Your right ! For the US and JP versions... :)
Except here, this is based on the Paris version of StarTours, the only one where Captain Rex had no "remove before flight" tape on him.
That was Fantastic! Great Job!!
did you make it yourself??? can should post it to VeeR VR too! this work deserves more watches :)
R.I.P. Paul Reubens 😢
Fun fact: the pilot droid is voiced by none other than Peewee Herman!
That's insane
Nice work! 👍
Well done! 😅
Hey! Nice work!
I was watching my favourite droid for the entire video.
You and me both!
These VR videos eat up a lot of phone battery
Flight to endor
Captain Rex sounds different in this ride
Is there going to be an application you can download and run natively in VR?
Is that a space invader 👾 at 1:12
これすごいな、、、
This is awesome!!! Did you do this yourself?
do you know why there is a space Invaders character in the Star tours?
Wow! Do you happen to have a link to the video for the on ride screen you used?? Thanks!
Anybody else notice at 4:19 that the planet you land on is earth?
woah so Disney had their sights on Star Wars over 20 years before they bought it lol
how can I get this to work in gear VR?
Voice by.. Peewee Herman!
Indeed, "Here's Cap'tain PeeWee speaking..." :-)
I’m just trying a few o
G
Would like to see something like Alien Encounter in 360 degrees
It would be a black screen for the majority of the time.
Did you make this yourself or did Disney?
Everything you see here is 100% home made :)
The audio itself is based on the original soundtrack.
nicely done
Accurate enough, except for that fighter pilot on the side screen. I know humans are hard, but it would have been less cringe if you'd replaced him with a gungan.
Space invaders!
Hey what about alien encounter?
I would love to send Nine-Eyes there. But I've never experienced this ride in person, and the only footage available online about doesn't have enough quality for a 3D reconstruction.
(In addition to the fact that a good part of the ride was in complete darkness, with the "alien" moving around the theater which will not have the same effect in a 360 video on youtube).
Everything is good, except for homemade footage. That needs some work
unavailable to view on the phone =(
Have a look here, this recording is available on my page: facebook.com/TimeKeeperXCII/
This should work from mobile.
Not working
Have a look here, this recording is available on my page: facebook.com/TimeKeeperXCII/
This should work from mobile.
Please make the Simpsons ride!
It sucks he was turned into dj r3x
Very cool, but noticeably different.
So they got Pee-Wee Herman to fly the ship?!
People waited in line for hours for that?
this is a CG remake, the original had anamatronics
Oh thank goodness for clarifying. Always felt like I missed out even though I hate amusement parks
William Erickson the droid was a acual disney robot that was there
It honestly feels a bit slow and underwhelming...?
nah i hate dat
Why is that droid Pee-Wee Herman?
Wonders of time ! :)
Paul Reubens was the voice of RX-24, the pilot droid, for 23 years (1987 - 2010)
That is amazing!
Ahh.. nostalgia... but umm.. I don't remember that droid being infused with Pee-wee consciousness.
So basically it looked like a bad cut scene from a generic 90s PC CD-ROM.
Lame, am happy that I didn't have to stand in the hot sun for more the am hour to ride for 5 minutes of a bad computer animated crap
this is a CG remake, the old one had animatronics, why would they use CG over animatronics? Its Disney world?
This is not even the original footage from 1987! this is completely CG... looks way way worse.
how could they record a VR video in 1987, this was the only way to remake the original
