As someone who never actually rode this ride (born too late; by the time i was old enough it was being redesigned into Adventures Continue), and these videos are my main way of experiencing it, this is pretty good
I’ll be happy if, they wanted to do a limited time of Star Wars season the way they did soarin during food and wine festival in the original over California.
This is incredible! As someone who spent a good portion of my childhood on this ride with my dad, you really recaptured that feeling it gave me as a 7yr old. Thanks for this!
This is DAMN PHENOMENAL! Truly impressive. I wouldn’t have believed this was an animation, but there are just a couple of small incongruities which really makes it sink in that this is an animation. Bravo!
Great job on this animation. I did the Adventure Thru Inner Space Virtual Ridethru and I know how much work it takes to make something like this. Awesome.
This is incredible! Thank you for making this. Whats insane to me is the official Disney 70mm release of this has completely different REX dialogue. This is the dialog I remember. Theyre always trying to gaslight us with mandela changes....
After riding this ride in 2007 and later in 2010 I was really disappointed to see when I went back in 2012 they had changed it. I still wish the offered the original trip to people
Woooow, Just Wooow ! Well done !!! I'm working on a Star tours' short and i'm very glad to see some creators like you doing an amazing work ! Well Done !!
Thank you so much! I just saw your teaser, and it looks amazing! I just did a recreation, but you all are taking it to another level! The Starspeeder never looked so good.
Wow this is brilliant! I am trying to restore the original film footage of the ride (going to build my own starspeeder 3000) and I think doing the animation is the better way but I'm going to try.
I would have loved if (before entering the trench) the quality slightly got worse (since the camera is panning over the stars/space) and then when the screen flashed, post blaster fire, the original quality got brought back. Something like just making the LOD worse and then restoring the quality afterwards, as a nod. That part always made me laugh during the ride (the quality difference as the footage switched from matte to a much more detailed miniature).
Hi Shaun, WOW! This is amazing, good work. Quick question, every Halloween my family and I go all out and usually create something special. Our house is the most popular come Halloween as in the past we have created an operational dark ride, Monsters Inc. Training simulator, The Evil Queens magic mirror, Etc. For 2021, we have decided to do a tribute to the original Star Tours experience with a motion simulator that will hold up to 12 people. I do have the video I need for the ride but yours is much better. I was hoping to connect with you to discuss the possibility of using your animation instead. Thanks.
@Shaun Juarez is it possible for you to make an animated version of the walk down the tunnel/walkway after exiting (I am talking about the one with the energizer bunny logos on different planets. (This was the version I saw most as a kid).
This is AMAZING! Seriously, so good! Do you have a non-camera shake version? I'm experimenting on a personal motion simulator project and would love to use your video as reference.
Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don't have a version without the camera shake, but you are welcome to use this video for reference. That sounds really cool though, having a personal motion simulator for this would be perfect.
Hi Shaun, wonderful animation! I was wondering if I could use the first part of your animation in an upcoming video (it would be up to 1:24, and I would use it as a transition to the video topic). I'll give you proper credits in the description and leave the link to this video. Please let me know whenever you can! Thank you
I wish they would bring back the original but completely redo it with modern CGI, and maybe a few extra new elements... making the experience a little longer than the original.
Nah even if they brought it back, they wouldn't make it longer, at 4 min 50 seconds, its very long for a simulator ride, even the new Star Tours rides are only 4 min 20 seconds.
How about making another motion simulator animation as your next project, the now defunct Body Wars which was in Epcot pavillion Wonders of Life? It had the same ATLAS system as Star Tours but a bit rougher and is about being miniturized and put into the body of a volunteer to study a splinter being destroyed by white blood cells, but you had to rescue Dr. Lair who studied said splinter and got sucked into a vein, going through the heart and lungs. After saving her from a white blood cell beacuse you need power in order to get sent out again, you travel to the brain to harness its power.
In the animation, is the Starspeeder flying through the scene, or did you render the movie first and then "play" it on the screen while moving the Starspeeder in place?
RIP Paul Reubens. Had to come back to watch this in his memory.
R.I.P. Pee-Wee Herman.
We will always remember you pee wee thank you for the wonderful memories on this ride
I saw they updated the ride recently, so I looked up the old version for nostalgia. Came across this video, and love the recreation! Wonderful job! 💞
As someone who never actually rode this ride (born too late; by the time i was old enough it was being redesigned into Adventures Continue), and these videos are my main way of experiencing it, this is pretty good
You made me cry with nostalgia.

That was really amazing, really well done! The animation in this is far superior than other animated versions!
This is amazing! This ride was my childhood, and I felt like I was back on the ride again after thirteen years! Incredible work!
This is DAMN PHENOMENAL! Truly impressive. I wouldn’t have believed this was an animation, but there are just a couple of small incongruities which really makes it sink in that this is an animation. Bravo!
I appreciate the kind words! 😁
The entrance chime is my favorite and also my phone notification! Excellent work👍
Wherever you are now, you deserved way more than 70k views, 1k likes and 140 subs. Excellent work.
Great job on this animation. I did the Adventure Thru Inner Space Virtual Ridethru and I know how much work it takes to make something like this. Awesome.
This is a very good animation 😎👌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
R.I.P. Paul Reubens, you were a great captain 😢
I LOVED this attraction when I went to Disneyland as a kid
This is incredible! Thank you for making this. Whats insane to me is the official Disney 70mm release of this has completely different REX dialogue. This is the dialog I remember. Theyre always trying to gaslight us with mandela changes....
Wow, it looks fantastic! I've been thinking of making my own Star Tours 3D animation myself. Awesome job on yours!
After riding this ride in 2007 and later in 2010 I was really disappointed to see when I went back in 2012 they had changed it. I still wish the offered the original trip to people

Hahah, absolute mad lad. You did a fantastic job with this, brought a smile to my face.
Rest in Peace Paul Reubens. Known for his role as Pee Wee but also his voice as Captain RX in the first Star Tours. You will be missed captain.
Fantastic! Thank you for putting all that hard work into this!
Okay, that was impressive. Nice job!
Wow this is brilliant! I am trying to restore the original film footage of the ride (going to build my own starspeeder 3000) and I think doing the animation is the better way but I'm going to try.
I know this video is old, but I have to stop by to say that you did an incredible job! Congratulations!
Everything's on point. Awesome job
please make this a full 360 wrap around video i would so wear my vr for this!!!
Wha...why are my eyes watering up?
My inner child thanks you for this.
Wonderful job!
I miss the original Star Tours. The new one is somehow rougher.
They should bring back a version of this ride at one of the parks.
Wow, this is incredible! Amazing job, sir!
Thank you so much!!
Great work, I might mention the white and red droid at the front of the fuel tug at 5:20 is missing.
This is insane.
I wish they would do the classic as a random option. It would be so sick. Nothing like going against the Death Star.

Thank U for this. Means a lot.

Did you ever take a video?

Rip 🪦 Paul Reubens. You’re the greatest actor of pee wee Herman and captain Rex from Star tours.
Great recreation! Any chance you could render this as a VR video so that we can actually feel like we’re sitting in the ride?
Lol still remember the droid telling us that it’s his first time flying on my 11th time on the ride!
This is AMAZING! Seriously, so good! Do you have a non-camera shake version? I'm experimenting on a personal motion simulator project and would love to use your video as reference.

I'd love to try to port this to VR! Would you be interested in collaborating for that?
Would you consider exporting a 360 version for VR consumption? Amazing work, bravo!
Thank you! Umm, maybe in the future 🤷♂️

*point of clarification, my video is for non-commercial, non-profit purposes
The capt. is voiced by Paul Rueben
Pee wee Herman 👍🏻
Reston peas Paul Reubens for the voice of Captain Rex
Any plans to share the 3D project? I would love to get this working in VR using Unity.
Awesome. One Question. Do you have this with a Green screen?
this is incredible, what software did you use?
Fantastic work. Could I use some clips from this in a fanfilm I'm making?
Lightspeed to Endor!

Hi! Do you still do 3D animation? What program do you use to do the bulk of it?
Hi Shaun. Would like to hire you for some animation work. Do you do any freelance?
45 minute wait for a 6 minute ride 😂
Amazing, how long did it take you put together?
Thank you! I started it about 5 years ago, but I took many breaks in between, and only worked on it in my spare time here and there.

Let me put it this way: looks terrible compared to the original. I hope you got a lot better over the last few years. 👍
