I believe salty hog isn’t limited to an number of times per turn but rather the (3 left) is just denoting how close you are to the buff activating similar to what we see in avenge cards. I think that makes it work closer with the APM pirates style than quillboar so maybe this signals a trend away from token pirate and towards buffs for apm (fingers crossed). On the beetles thing, I think the current wow expansion is fighting insects so that might be why they’re tying it in.
Ooo that also could be! Looks the same to minions we have seen in the past where they only activated 3 times per turn was my thought process, BUT from a balance perspective that would make a lot more sense. We will see soon!
Beetles are considered beasts in WoW, as are any other creatures that are tameable by the Hunter class, which is most definitely why they were put into the Beast category instead of getting their own! Thanks for the good content!
Thank you for including the golden variants for the minions! It’s so disappointing when I save for 3 copies of something and the effect stays the same, keep up the good content
I asked google if insects were beasts and this is what it said: Yes, insects are considered animals. They are part of the kingdom Animalia, which includes all animals on Earth. Insects are also considered wildlife.
I agree with you I am very interested in trying out beetles and the synergy that they could have, but it doesn't make sense that they would be part of the beast tribe instead of making a whole new insect tribe.
Salty Hog - Seems weak for a pure Quilboar build since it doesn't play or buff blood gems. It could be interesting for pirates if APM is back since it all of the shop cycling could making trippling more feasible. It could also make for a good minion n a larger menagerie build since it buffs indiscriminately. Salty Looter + Peggy in a menagerie could be fun (if she stays around). Bettles - I'm not sold on it. Feels too much like the Undead Army mechanic. One battlecry, deathrattle, and avenge minion to increase the buff, just like undead.
It seems to me that "Beetles" also consider the units that proc the bonus stats themselves, looking at their design, and doesn't just apply to the 2/2 beetles they summon. Looks to be very interesting and im sure someone will find a way to make these guys a pretty strong archetype I also quite like the enthusiasm you have for this game mode! You seem very invested and give very great feedback as a content creator for Battlegrounds and I am loving the vibes you give off. I am hoping you can continue growing as your videos are very good and I wish you the best of luck with becoming an official partnered content creator, you are truly underrated and you deserve support with the effort you put into your content.
Crystal infuser stacks: If both non golden versions gain the ability. That is Deathrattle gain 8 blood gems. I can see that getting nerfed, because it cannot be scaled further. It is almost the maximum by itself.
Curious about Crystal Infuser. So the choose one effect would be considered a buff correct? So does that mean if you pick Deathrattle when you play it and then triple it picking deathrattle again would you have both deathrattles?
That would essentially be a normal deathrattle getting double the original mount so that would make sense. Can we pick again, or does it give just the other half? OR What if we play one choose deathrattle, play the second choose the death rattle, and then find a third choose deathrattle!?! How many gems?! That might of been what you were saying to begin with, but I ran off on a stream of thought, and its the best I can focus out at the moment!
I think that's how it should work. If they want to prevent this mechanic they should change the deathrattle crystal infuser in another minion after you played it. (Like the druid of the claw in regular hearthstone)
The Beastles feel more like undead playstyle than beasts, I'm also surprised there wasn't a t6 'if you summon a beetle that doesn't fit do X' card. Just looking at the cards it feels like they are missing a late game payoff
huh. that's a really interesting new identity for quilboar. seems fun & in line with the new lowered power level. it is of note to me that choose one effects will not synergize with brann.
I guess part of the idea is that neutrals like Brann, Drakkari, and Titus all double some kind of effects, so he theorizes the same for Choose One effects for consistency. I kinda doubt we’d get a minion that always combines both effects though, just because it’d outclass the tier 4 quill we just got that limits it to once per turn.
ME MISREAD A CARD!? Yeah... normally. I am a tactile person so I have a really hard time learning about the new cards until I actually get to play them. If something is not in my hands I have a very hard time quantifying how it actually works, and while not a great thing for a UA-camr meh you fix what you can fix.
Okay. I HATED the self damage beasts and I never even once played beasts the whole time they were in. Now? Beasts will be my favorite comp. I'm all in on beetles. Thank you Blizz. Gem Rat and Hogrider also looks fun
Its possible they were going to do this insect tribe aligned with the emerald dream expansion, which an interview revealed was pushed back so as to not line up with WoW and confuse people (why thats a problem I have no clue). Then I guess they decided they cant have things not aligned with standard which also makes no sense?
My prediction Beasts are getting mega changed. So my thoughts on this are, quillboar looks just as fun as it used to be, already a lot of ways to cheese blood gem scaling. As for beasts, Goldrin still in can 100% still do in combat scaling with the beetles. Titus is always a beast core minion. idk. I look forward to trying the new tribe change out.
A random 1 cost tavern spell, is a disaster. -The variance is stealing a strong minion versus 3 health and taunt. -That is just not healthy. A tavern 2 spell is more consistent with less variance.
Ok beetles are beasts i will argue, but at the and time it does definitely seem like they were going to make an insect tribe then we're like "eh fuck it"
Why do you doubt that beetles are beasts? We always had insects as beasts in hearthstone and there few of them in BG. Currently in game we have Sprightly Scarab. In the past we had: Maexxna, Silithid Burrower, Spider summoned by infested wolf
We have, but I still never really think of them as beasts in my day to day. It is just a form of association. In my day to day I see cat/dog/squirrel "OH SHIT SQUIRREL RUN AWAY BEFORE A FROG GETS ON ITS BACK!" I think "beast" with these. When I see a lady bug, or spider I think " bug or insect". Just how my brain interprets it with little context.
Quillboar is my favourite tribe and to see it gets annihilated like this makes me sad edit after seeing what was added it might not be as bad as I initially thought but I’m still not too thrilled
vis a vis your point that beetles dont reqlly feel like beasts -- bugs *are* animals, and spiders and scarabs and shit historically have been in the beast tribe in both hearthstone and wow. what *is* weird is that they're going this hard on the new archetype -- i frankly wonder if this was motivated to some degree by the upcoming starcraft crossover
The name of the tribe is not "animals", it is "beasts ". If the name of the tribe was "Elephants" and then we added Beatles to it, imagine saying, "Elephants are animais, Beatles are animals, so obviously beetles are Elephants as well".
QB and Beast day! Let’s see what’s going on. Tough Tusk is LEAVING? HUH?? I wonder what’s coming in its place. Jazzer and Piper both leaving too? Dang. Mangled Bandit and Snarling Conductor were fun, but I’ll miss them quite a lot. Hot-Air Surveyor and Transmuted Bramblewitch are departing! A tragic day for Quillboars. Good riddance, Aggem Thorncurse and Bristlebach. I won’t miss you. Sun-Bacon Relaxer can actually RELAX for once! Awesome buff. Bristling Buffoon down earlier is nice, same with Bannerboar and Fearless Foodie. Crater Miner is strange, but pretty flexible! Crystal Infuser is even MORE flexible!! Gem Rat’s flexibility is really cool, nothing more than half a Pokey. Gem Day is even a Tavern spell synergy! Boar Gamer is a fun pun. Cool effect, too! Thorned Trailblazer seems to tell me a Choose One build might become a thing. How good is it? Not easy to tell. Salty Hog is a welcome card for APM builds! Dual tribe means you can keep it and Tethys (assuming it’s sticking around for next season) on the board at the same time! Turbo Hogrider, a Quillboar on a motorcycle, supporting cycle playstyles is pristine flavor choice. Props to the dev team. I CALLED THE DEPARTURE OF SILVER GOOSE! Damage build is leaving? Dang. Irate Rooster, Rampager, Trigore the Lasher, Iridescent Skyblazer, Spiked Savior… all gone! Octosari, Wrap God was fun to play with. I’ll miss him a lot. Welcome back, Hungry Snapjaw. Indeed a great early start. Niuzao is back! Beast gets a Goodwill Obsidian Ravager! It’s still really fun to play, though, don’t get me wrong. Buzzing Vermin and Boon of Beetles tells me Token Beasts is back and better than ever. Can’t wait to see it in action. Forest Rover supplements the build and gives an AURA? That already sounds amazing. I wonder if there’s a Beast build that will use this with Brann, Drakkari, and Murk-Eye… Turquoise Skitterer will be fun with N’Zoth, I’m calling it now. Nest Swarmer tells me you gotta scale your Beasts well enough if you want to even approach a quality placement. Hopefully Runed Progenitor can catch you up if you’re trying to pivot from a different token build!
I believe salty hog isn’t limited to an number of times per turn but rather the (3 left) is just denoting how close you are to the buff activating similar to what we see in avenge cards.

still doesn't make sense. a beetles more like a bug hes right
Thank you for including the golden variants for the minions! It’s so disappointing when I save for 3 copies of something and the effect stays the same, keep up the good content
I had a few viewers ask for this, and it was easy enough to add. Glad everyone seems to be enjoying it!
Ah yes, my favorite tribe, the Beastles
Where is the Neutral Beast card named Sgt. Pepper who buffs your band of beaeles!?
Salty Hog isn't 3 times per turn the "(3 left)" is a countdown. That means the count continues across turns and there is no limit.
I asked google if insects were beasts and this is what it said: Yes, insects are considered animals. They are part of the kingdom Animalia, which includes all animals on Earth. Insects are also considered wildlife.
Pretty sure you got effect for Gem Rat wrong. Instead of getting leg day or arm day, you get the "Gem Day" spell that lets you choose.
That is what I am starting to suspect also. If only I could try these things a TINY bit THEN talk about them it would be much easier on my brain.
In warcraft there is a beetle.race called the silithid, who are actually considered beasts. I'm guessing that's how they're playing it with this
Yeah that is what I see when I look at the arts. Please not Silithid I remember taking me back to AQ
I agree with you I am very interested in trying out beetles and the synergy that they could have, but it doesn't make sense that they would be part of the beast tribe instead of making a whole new insect tribe.
beetle archetype lets gooooo 🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲

Reminds me of Starship Troopers with all those big insects. Wonder if pirates are going to space too?
Amazing content. Love your energy. You're fire af
I think the gem day that gem rat gives you is the same as the tavern spell so not a random +1 attack or +1 health but a choose one
Hmm that could be. We will see during the pay test soon enough!
It says you get a gem day and the tavern spell is called gem day. 100% certain to be the tavern spell.
In the main HS game insects and spiders are considered beasts. I do agree it feels a bit weird from a flavor perspective.
It seems to me that "Beetles" also consider the units that proc the bonus stats themselves, looking at their design, and doesn't just apply to the 2/2 beetles they summon. Looks to be very interesting and im sure someone will find a way to make these guys a pretty strong archetype

Those are some truly kind words thank you! I just love the game.
I think "(3 left)" counts how many cards are left until the effect triggers.
I think Battlegrounds originally had beasts=mammals. But since beasts aren’t a real biological term, they can add beetles and say they are beasts.
Anyways, as an Undead fan, I am excited about beetles
Crystal infuser stacks:

Dude you'll get in eventually

all hail the algorithm...

goodbye bramblewitch i will not miss you
9:30 don't choose one cards, instead of triggering twice, get both effects combined? Least that's how I remember them working in the CCG
Yeah, he probably just misread it but it simply triggers both effects, not triggering one twice
@@AllToastersToastToastperhaps they’ll add Fandral Staghelm?

Not even beast tribe anymore its just the beetle tribe now 😂

Beasts always getting changed up
Beetle gang rise up
A random 1 cost tavern spell, is a disaster. -The variance is stealing a strong minion versus 3 health and taunt.
-That is just not healthy. A tavern 2 spell is more consistent with less variance.
beasts just feel like a "bigger and bigger man"-thing.
not a bigger and bigger fan of this, but lets see
They already removed Bramblewitch only to put it back, so idk I don't know if its fully gone haha
Boars look interesting and quite fun actually. I think will be maybe a bit too strong
Ok beetles are beasts i will argue, but at the and time it does definitely seem like they were going to make an insect tribe then we're like "eh fuck it"
So many bugs i love it :)
It's definitely beetle time.

Beetle
Crystal infuser golden. Deathrattle gain 8 blood gems. Op
Instead of beetles, they should have summoned alley cats
Feels like buffed kalegos is going to be crap as there is way less battlecries with all the chose one cards
Borgs!
This GAME???? Day 1 nerf incoming for Beetle Beasts Especially that T4 Deathrattle No way that stays
if beatles were as big as they are in this fictitious world, we would speak about them as beast as well.
12 feet spiders do not exist.
You had to say 12 foot tall spiders... just had to make me imagine it. Nope that is it no more outside for me.
Quillboar is my favourite tribe and to see it gets annihilated like this makes me sad edit after seeing what was added it might not be as bad as I initially thought but I’m still not too thrilled
I think they are still going to be VERY strong. It is just a slightly different play style, and that can be a issue if your prefer the old one :(
vis a vis your point that beetles dont reqlly feel like beasts -- bugs *are* animals, and spiders and scarabs and shit historically have been in the beast tribe in both hearthstone and wow. what *is* weird is that they're going this hard on the new archetype -- i frankly wonder if this was motivated to some degree by the upcoming starcraft crossover
Maybe we get new card skins that are Zerg in place of beetles?
Masochist beasts was never my favourite, this new idea is really cool, but i got a question.
WHERE ARE MY FROGS?
Hopefully never to rise again! Or at least once they redo the animations.
@Heretic721 they should make it jump once for every Minion it buff, not for every deathrattle
Beasts are animals, beetles are animals, your welcome
Thank you! I don't have room in my brain for things like this. What did I lose to learn this!?!
The name of the tribe is not "animals", it is "beasts ".
If the name of the tribe was "Elephants" and then we added Beatles to it, imagine saying, "Elephants are animais, Beatles are animals, so obviously beetles are Elephants as well".

none of those new beasts are beetles.. despite that they are very clearly beetles....
