I have this case and foam and it is great. That slot in the middle that you found is for your desiccant. Look around should be a small little metal desiccant case. If you can't find it contact the seller and they will probably send one to you. I can tell you from experience if you have 6 guns loaded in this case with 21 mags plus another 6 mags in the guns for a total 27 loaded mags, that case will weigh a ton! And Lord forbid you have a bunch of steel guns in there like I do sometimes it makes for a very heavy case.
I have the Pelican case this was copied from with like 16 guns. Yeah, its heavy. The foam in mine is dice cut so can be fit to any configuration and is much softer and less abrasive than the clone.
@@jimafcarbon4433 I got my Pelican (1500?) brand new for $50 from someone trying to sell me a bunch when I was a vendor at a camera show. I went to HF today and paid their $59 for their much smaller case. I counted, mine holds 16 pistols. I usually do pretty good picking up Pelican cases used on eBay. FWIW
Thanks, I think I'll like it. It seems crazy to spend nearly $100 on a case. But even if it were only Glocks and M&P's, 6 of them would be $3k. So I guess $100 to protect them isn't too much.
You're not wrong. But even if it were just $200 Taurus and Bersas, it would be 10x the cost in guns. Throw a couple of Sigs, Glocks and H&K's in there. What's $100 for a case when you have $4k inside it?
I'm just cheap. Or maybe I prefer to spend $$ on ammo 🤓 Something about spending $$ on this stuff that's hard for me to do, I procrastinate and debate, checking reviews over and over. It almost hurts to spend the money sometimes. But sometime afterwards, I'm usually really happy I have them.
@Mil-Spec_Mike that's a good idea too. I was thinking that spray paint meant for plastic. Supposed to adhear well to plastic and have some flexibility. Or rhino liner. But the plasti-dip should work well.
@@jimafcarbon4433 I have used it on many things. The spray is great for large coverage and is very easy to apply. Its basically a rubber coating. They make it in a dippable version as well that is great to recoat tool handles where the coating has rubbed off
I got the case at 50% off. $30 and the foam was $60. I do like it though. As much as I'd like to think $90 is too much, full of m&p's or glocks would be $3k. So, perspective.
Try reading the instructions BEFORE you start recording. Or better yet, watch the Case Club video where the nice young lady shows exactly where you're struggling here. Would make for much better content. Edit: Please, please go watch the Case Club video so you can properly set up your case... watching you guess and struggle is not helping anything.
@DB-hj3uc Ill take the criticism, because you're right. But in my defense, it didn't come with instructions, but I wouldn't have read them if it had. I did see their video, after I made mine. There's is better, but I'm just a guy who posts stuff he finds interesting. Having used it a few times, I do like the case and would recommend it to others. Nobody pays me for this, I don't get anything for free. I just share my experience hoping somebody finds it interesting or helpful.
@@jimafcarbon4433 Haha, fair enough! I just ordered one of these cases and watched the Case Club video and was looking for other videos to see if anyone had any tips or tricks that worked better, which is how I found your video. Good to hear its working for you and that you recommend it.
The foam insert is not on their website. I bought the case a few weeks ago and I did a pretty good job with the “pick n pluck” foam but it would be nice to have an additional configuration. Especially if the pieces are replaceable. Unlike the pick n pluck
Looks like this comment is a dupe, but no, I don't think there's any real worry there. Unless you allow dust and debris to build up. Then, much like holsters, there could be some wear.
A lot of money but looks so much easier than picknpluck foam
I'm juat cheap when it comes to accessories. I'll pay $1k for a handgun and put it in an $8 case. Somehow I talked myself into trying this one.

Ah ! Gotcha. I didn't think about the desiccant tin. Thanks !

@@lenzielenski3276 I'd love to compare the two side by side, but I'm too cheap. The Apache case is a hard spend for me.

They have a video on the site that explains what the different inserts do and how to adjust for bigger versus smaller guns.
Funny, I just found that yesterday.

@armadagunshow right you are sir. Right you are.
Will that hard foam scuff the finish on your guns?
No, it's not an abrasive texture. I'm sure if you let too much dust and debris accumulate it could.
To expensive for foam. Costs mord than case did.

You pay for not having to cut it yourself. I've done a few, would gladly pay $60 to use my valuable time elsewhere.

For $60 looks like a great deal !

Where do you buy those foam inserts?
This is the one i bought. Case Club Foam Only to Fit Apache 4800 (Harbor Freight) - 6 Pistol Foam Set (6 Pistol) a.co/d/7EpwYzN
Jim, put all pieces back in. Paint top with your favorite color. Then pull out pieces. Much better look.
There are more expensive versions that have colored material applied before being laser cut. Those look a lot better.
@@jimafcarbon4433 Or just get some spray plasti-dip. Works great after a few layers.

Currently unavailable. Wah wah, your video must have sold them out.

Of course it's out of stock now
There's a few that are nearly identical in looks and price. Can't speak to the quality.

Worth every penny!
