As a Auto/diesel Technician 38 years this video is right up there with others I have shown people through the years as what shocks that are bad what they do when compared to a new shock. It also shows how much harder other components work due to bad shocks. Thumbs up to the time to make to video to.
What I admire about you chris, is that most big UA-camrs (not including you) do not pay attention to the comment section. I believe it is a very vital part of keeping and maintaining a good UA-cam community. You in the other hand do the opposit. Hey Chris I love your videos I love working on cars but I don't consider myself a mechanic. Thanks to your videos my 06 civic got shocks, power steering fluid, brake fluid, head cover gasket, and so much more replaced. I watch other Chanel's like Scotty Kilmer and ETCG but your videos explain everything easy to understand and they're not long and boring. Just want to say thanks and keep up the good work. :)
Scotty is a funny guy and very knowledgeable of course, but some of his videos doesn't explain well the process. He goes too quick and I believe he assumes his audience some of the process, therefore he just skipped some steps or just verbally explain them.

I now realize ... this is all shot in diferent times.. e.g. showing both old and new shocks at the same time must have been in the middle of your build. and then cuts to where you remove the tire but then the shock is still at the car. e.g you show us what happens without shocks... but there you allready painted the diff. that means you knew in the beginning of the vid that you will need that shot and camera angle. Also you talk smooth over in just one take... thats just amazing. Its so seamless... the script and the editing is way beyond what some one normaly would expect. Great Job!
Damn it's crazy how much a coat of black paint changes the way the suspension looks. Great video and interesting to see the movement especially the drivetrain twist.

Great video! In addition, i suggest you add a small leaf to stiffen the leaf pack to get rid of that axle wrap. I had put a set of very light duty add-a-leaf to my tacoma and it took care of the axle wrap as you pointed out in the video. But that's just a suggestion, since it did stiffen the rear end up a bit.. But if you're after more control, that would be beneficial. I got no lift out of it, but surely more control.

There are paints that cure rust and form protective coatings by them selves and they require there be rust because they convert the rust into a hard coating.
My dad always says that a good suspension allows you to go faster even with a stock engine. I admire him so much because that tip help me alot in the race track

I never feel anything wrong with my shocks they seem smooth but I was told at mechanics I have to replace both front shocks and I have 75 miles on my car and got it abt 3 years ago from a big Nissan dealer

honestly just clean the underside real nice. find any rust and brush it off clean, then paint

I don't think so, he problably just sprayed paint, allthough i wonder if he used normal paint or used a industrial quality paint.

The springs for his truck are those long bars that flex and that are holding the rear axle as he shows in the beginning. It's just a different setup.
