I’ve been missing y’all!! Love how you take us thru the whole process in 1 video… I know that takes a very long time before you can publish the video, but for us beginners it is so very appreciated ❤️.
Good morning sir 👍
One of my best memories is shelling peas on the front porch with my grandma. 💚
One of my favorite memories.
I'm 70 years old and love that planting method....who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Happy New Year, love your channel.
How timely. I just shared my Cajun hoppin' John recipe using pink eye purple hull peas I grew in my garden this past year. I love cowpeas of all kinds and they are so easy to grow, even up here in the frozen north. Cheers!
We’re fixing some of those right now for dinner. Glad to know y’all eat them up north like we do down south. 😀
"Have a blessed day!" Nancy, I always look forward to hearing that phrase. I hope you two are well. I've missed seeing what you are up to.
Mr. Hollis is the greatest teacher in gardening. Now I learned a lot. I can grow lots of vegetables. God blessed Mr. Hollis and his wife Nancy. They are the best people on this Earth.
You are too sweet❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for showing the whole process from planting to freezing! Blanching always seemed complicated to me, but seeing it done helps a lot.
Watching y’all just makes my heart happy. Have a blessed and abundant year 💚
You are so nice❤️
My family had an 80 acre farm from the early 1900s till about 10 years ago. We always grew white acre peas, probably 20+ rows! They were our favorite. We also grew zipper peas, purple hills, green and speckled butter beans, and lots of other yummy veggies. We picked our when they were green. At the end of summer, we let the last harvest dry on the plant and saved the seed for next year. We also raised our own beef, pork and chickens.
Have a blessed day!
Happy New Year, Hollis family!! 🥳🥳🥳
You just brought back so many memories of visiting my mothers family in Western KY. Growing up, they were dairy farmers and my brothers had chores with the cows. I was an extra pair of hands in the garden and the kitchen and have fond memories of snap beans and purple peas!!!! May 2022 bring you even more love, happiness and abundance! Xoxo to you both from California. Bing-Bing, too!!!
Thank you so much. Last year, I searched all over this area for fresh peas. Could not find any. We were so disappointed. I thought, why can't I grow my own. I ordered my peas, and just finished watching your tutorial. I can't wait to put my seeds in the ground. Thank you both for all you do, in encouraging us to grow our own. Blessings
I'm in the midwest, and I started thinking about my spring garden a few days ago already myself, even though I really can't plant anything until at least the end of March. But I will start some of my early spring plants indoors in February. Happy new year!
Now is definitely the time to start researching and planning your garden for spring. Be sure to get your seed order in before they sell out
We have all missed you lately. Glad to see you again. Don't be such a stranger.
We didn’t release many videos last year because I was busy building the homestead. We tried to do videos on the builds but the videos were not received well. So, we stopped making them resulting in only a few videos in 2021. This year, 2022 will be much different. Lots of videos coming your way❤️
May God bless you this coming year
Peas n Snaps. New dish to me but looks yummy. TFS your knowledge. Hugs to you n Nancy. Your channel is inspiring and ALWAYS brings a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. God bless you both - BingBing, too. ❤️🙏🏻
This video is timely as I’ve been trying to figure out how to process my bags of beans (purple pole bean and dragon tongue bush bean)from the garden for the vacuum sealer. It really helps to see it.
Happy new year guys , I wrote you in another video about growing veggies inside under led lights , I'm in northwest Kansas, it's 2 degrees today , and a blizzard , but my garden is doing great , I have red onions 🌰 , okra , Swiss chard , lettuce , Pontiac red potatoes , cucumbers 🥒 , and canelope , and dbl dbl sweet corn , the corn is seed for spring , it's all doing great , canelope are setting fruit , corn is getting tassels , happy growing .
I live in Kansas too and would like more information on your setup! It’s snowing here in NE Kansas now. Hope you keep warm! Happy New Year and God Bless!
Great, and I am complaining because I can’t grow enough greens in No Virginia 7b, but because of the warm weather, we’ve been having, I am still growing and harvesting food for the family. Do you have a hoop house or keep things covered? I love to know your method or secret to continue growing in cold weather. Thank you and bless you. RJ
@@matthewmoore2045 well , I'm running a hlg 550. V2 rspec , on 14 hour light cycles in a 8x8 insulated room in my humble place , on a 6 foot tracked light mover , , and just veggies young man , we took soil out of the cattle pins where we have fed for decades , threw it in pots about 7 weeks ago , that's pretty much it.
@@rafa106900 you just have to think like mother nature , inside , cause you are responsible for everything the plant needs , lighting ,and intensity of lighting , humidity , and water and food , being I have very limited space , I'm growing. Vertical , all my canelope and cucumbers vine up a strings, the canelope I'm going to use old pantie hose to cradel them and I tie it up and hang it , petty sure it will work , just a FYI
@@davidcombs9059 Excellent. Thanks. This is a special community of people who grow all year long. I grow outside and have things covered but grow greens that are hardy in my zone 7b. In Virginia. I also added more garlic for this season to harvest in summer.
I can’t seem to grow field peas because no matter what I do, they end up covered in aphids. I love them so if you have some kind of tip that prevents that, it would be much appreciated. That bowl of peas at the end just needed some creamed field corn and a sliced tomato. Yum!
I am super glad to see ya'll back. Love you bunches.
field peas and snaps! my very favorite! xoxoxo ❤
Been following you for several years! Love that you moved to Florida because now your planting & harvesting matches me in west-central Fl! I love that you add dates for planting, harvesting, & preserving! Now I really can match all your dates! Thank You sooooo much!
I love the way y'all film the process from plant to harvest. It is so helpful for me getting started with gardening to know what to expect. Also, I love that y'all always thank the Lord for the harvest. God bless y'all!
Happy new year 🎉

Happy New Year! Missed your videos!!! Seeing the whole process from planting to harvest is very enjoyable! Love your videos!! May God bless you, Nancy and her mom with good health, happiness and prosperity in 2022!!
You I don’t look forward to a lot of videos on UA-cam but I don’t think I have missed a video of y’all’s been watching when you was in Virginia in your backyard and look forward to your next video every time I watch one. God bless.
What an amazing 'nose to tail' whole process video, thank you for sharing. I was just sitting pondering our planting schedule for next year when this popped up, a timely offering if ever there was one. Truly inspirational and awesome stuff!
New year greetings from the Scottish Highlands. 👍 🏴
HAPPY NEW YEAR
You two always bring a smile to my face. I really enjoy watching your harvest process and success and now this time...vacuum sealing. I always learn so much from both of you. Thank you so much!!
I remember sitting on the porch with my grandmother and my great grandmother shelling peas. Good memories
I was raised on field peas and still love them! I raise butter beans but buy my field peas at the grocery store. Your video has encouraged me to raise my own. Thank you!
I just wish we had your soil here in East Tennessee
Happy New Year and thanks for all your videos.
Hollis and Nancy you guys definitely bring joy to my life always enjoy watching your videos God bless
I’ve missed you both. LHK
Love field peas with snap bean😊

Cow peas are my favorite!! Happy New Year! Miss yall.
Hey you guys praise the lord!! You guys are amazing.I love all that you have done on your homestead. It's like pictures from magazines, the way everything is in the right place all the time. Beautiful food and flowers. Plus of course the little Bing. Love you guys for all the education on the way to live and survive on God's beautiful earth.Thank you both so much.God Bless
Thank you for watching and your kind words ❤️
I need that washing setup. I always do it in my sink after I spray them off in the wagon. That looks much better.
Happy New Year! So happy to see you all back! My husband and went crazy when you used a pvc pipe to direct sow the beans!
Good to see you guys! Happy New Year!
I love these full beginning to end videos. They are very helpful and encouraging. I know many many hours go into making them. Yall are a blessing.
Great video! I'm excited to grow some pink eye purple hull peas for the first time this coming spring. Just stuffed my face with some for the 3rd night in a row, along with some skillet cornbread. Mmm! It's incredible how delicious they are with just a ham hock and some chicken broth. I would say it's an easy meal, too, but that's only because they were already shelled when I got them, haha!
I miss y’all, I love the way you grow your production
In Texas, we think Purple Hull peas are the best. I do like the white pea. I grew peas 8 rows at a time. My wife blanched them and keep them in the freezer. We had a good harvest every year. I ate the last batch of peas in 2020, put up in 2018.
Nice to see you back 👍
Thank you ❤️
Omg, it looks so good! OK 👍🏽 I’m hungry now!
Good to see you all, the very best 2022 all of your family.
Welcome back!
I have grown black eyed peas before, in our area folks seem to take them to the dry stage. Processing them we always put a number of super dry pea pods into a pillowcase then beat the tar out of it with a broomstick. That took about 90% out the shell, then you had to go thru and look them but was pretty quick. Have you guys ever had Rice Peas? Similar to a lady pea but smaller. My dad used to grow them but we have lost the seed. And Baker Creek sold them at one time. Very delicate.
Holy peas! That’s awesome. I’m doing seeds for the first time ever this upcoming spring (for everything) 🤞🏻🤞🏻
So good to see you both! God Bless you this new year! I don’t not have social media except watching UA-cam so I relish your videos! Thanks so much for sharing.
That is a neat trick with the pictures pipe so you don't have to bend to plant the seed easy on back.
I learned that from my Daddy when I was just a little kid
It's neat seeing plants from other videos around where you're working. Love the content, thank you!
👍
Using Black Kow thanks to you and all the plants thrive…thanks (and good to see you again)
I have missed you all so much. I learn a lot on how to grow my vegetables from how you do yours. Thank you for all your teachings.God bless.
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words. We appreciate folks like you❤️❤️❤️. Got a lot of videos for you this year. Enjoy your garden this year

Amazing how good your earth garden soil looks, I remember early videos when it looked like white sand
Thanks to Black Kow our soil is improving each year
You are so smart!!! That method sure saves your back ... lol All the best and Happy New Year to you and Nancy!
I don’t garden. I’ve tried and failed haha but I really enjoy these videos. I just enjoy learning new stuff :) thanks man
Never give up. You can learn much from mistakes. You only fail if you give up
Fabulous! Great to see you guys ❤

Happy new year! 👏🥦🥒🌽🥔🥕
Thank you!! ❤️❤️🐶
Happy New Year
Have a wonderful and beautiful year
Love J.J . Xx
Happy New Year! Glad to see you back on 🙂
I use a seeder like that and I had my husband use a zip tie and put me a small pail at the top for my seeds. It made such a differance!! Great video!
Great idea👍👍👍
I’m planning to plant white acre peas for the first time this year. I grew up in South Central Georgia and loved to eat my mama’s cornbread crumbled in a bowl of pot “likker” from those peas. We always used immature field pea pods for snaps in the pot of peas. I hope they do well in my location in NW Georgia - I think they will. I really enjoy your channel.
They should do fine. Cornbread and peas is soooooo goooooood
Wishing you health and happiness for the New Year. God Bless
I'm glad black gold sponsor's your channel, that being said, I have tried to get it out here in Colorado with no luck. I would sure like to try it and get some of the results that you do, but I guess I will have to settle for another brand!
Welcome back!!! You were missed and yes, you bring joy to my heart:) Happy and healthy new year:):):):)
Love your channel. Not sure if they will work with peas, but I put dry bean pods in a retired pillow case and bang them around to open the dry pods. Then I put the broken shells and beans in a shallow basket. With a hair dryer on low, I direct the air to flow on top and blow away the shells. The beans are too heavy to blow away. I shake up the basket and repeat until it is just beans left in the basket.
So enjoyable!!
What an amazing video. Loved it. Joy to my heart indeed. Happy New Year to y’all. Looking forward to watching more and more videos on your channel. God bless you always. Bertha in TEXAS.
Good to see a video from ya'll!!! Happy New Year.. ✌
I would like to see you cook some of your vegetables.
You guys are an inspiration!!!
❤️
Hollis, do you let the peas dry on the vine? I think my favorite are Cream, Purple hull and Blackeys. In that order. I hear you on porch shelling. Wife and finally got a sheller, made a world of difference. Thanks for all y'all do. Jay from Texas
Happy New Year 2022! Great to see y’all again.
God bless you Guys. Happy to see that you are up and running in Florida now. Love your videos. I was wondering though, if you take seeds for the next season or if you always buy new seeds? Greetings from Ireland 🍀
I enjoyed watching that whole process! I bet you spent some time shelling all those field peas!! We don’t grow those up here but I sure grow bush beans. I used to be a Bush Blue Lake man, but I was having so much trouble with anthracnose and bacterial brown spot I decided to switch varieties a couple of seasons ago. I almost chose Provider because so many people recommend them but in the end I chose Caprice because it has such a great disease package! Caprice has made bean growing enjoyable again, I will never go back to Blue Lake!
I pray God will bless you two through 2022
Klaus
Thanks for watching. So glad you liked the video. Got plenty more coming your way this year❤️👍
Mr. Hollis and Nancy after planting seeds when do you fertilize them? ❤
Thank you both so much for the very helpful video
Loved how you did start to finish in one video
God Bless
You are very welcome Vicki!!! Yes ma’am, the progression videos seem to really help beginner gardeners understand the entire process. It is our honor to help anyone we can❤️
@@HollisNancysHomestead
