Really the 3 door Jimny should also be available in India atleast in limited quantity of 5000 units per year as a life style option. Many people actually like the 3 door version, not everyone needs the family practiclity. There should be options for everyone.
It's not that easy. If a model didn't sell enough numbers, company will face big losses. Many models where experimented but failed miserably. Ofcourse the market has changed but big companies will only adapt in a slow pace.
If everyone spends money, then they will get options...Indians make lot of noise online, but when time comes to buy..they always go for the practical option..so better to just launch the practical option
Thar mstallion torque is wonderful, but I must say the jimny has potential for wide range of modifications thanks to the the solid front axle setup with coilovers also the stability is really good. Wish the gurkha xtreme was still being sold.
I just bought a Jimny, for 4 adults it is perfect ....defects are 1. Cramped space feeling. 2. Not very stable at high speed especially during turns 3. Back end is very light and not so stable 4.Fuel consumption is bad 5.I find side visibility is bad when you are crossing road to look left and right 6. Mirror is very small for looking behind 7.Gear shifting takes time to adjust. 8. After driving for 60 kms ,I don't know but pickup of my car in hilly areas seems lacking especially on steep road. 9.Tyres need to be upgrade too skinny 10. I feel engine gets heated up very fast But off road it is a beast ❤. If I get 100 likes I will tell you Jimny's Merits
I don't like the Jimny for one reason and one reason only. For a larger guy like me, I found the seats very uncomfortable. So, I would go for the Petrol Thar instead.
The only difference is that after few years thar will be available on olx(mint condition, sparingly used😂) but on the other side the jimny will help the driver create some beautiful memories for years without any major breakdown and even after that it will hold a superb resale value ❤
So you guys are reviewing both the vehicles off-road and using highway tyres in the Jimny? That's just lazy man. Slap on some Yokohama Geolandar ATs and go crazy. The Jimny can really take anything with ATs. Yeah sure it's capable even with the stock tyres but you have to be enjoy it's capabilities and awesome ride quality with the ATs.

I have driven Jymny which is shortcake on offroad.. Just change tyres to AT. More reliable and cheaper parts and service of Maruti and practice for 5 doors.

My Venue's suspension is too stiff, suspension travel is small and travelling in it literally breaks your body. I want a softer suspension which is more cushioned. When you are driving at 70-90kmph you always are scared of even small potholes. It doesn't give you the confidence in driving. Compared to that Brezza and Nexon are heaven. They are luxury.

I am driving 2022 Brezza, i wanted to shift to a affordable 4*4 family car the reason i am not going with Jimny is- 1) No Space to Keep stuffs specially Waterbottles in the Doors. 2) Same 1.5 engine configured for more torque, brezza on ghats feels like out of breath (power should have been Increased as this car is supposed to the king of the mountains) 3) Grear Box 5 automatic is outdated should have atleast given Brezza's 6 speed automatic If Maruti does little changes keeping in mind for a Family Car with 4*4 Feature......I am sure it will do well.
Most people wud go for the macho looks of the Thar and it’s overhyped off-road capabilities but when it comes to practicality , Jimmy is a much much better option than Thar; its size makes it so much versatile and practical . Just ask thar owners whether they can go to pick up a gas cylinder or for shopping in a busy area ; 5 door Thar will make it outrageous in a busy area with its size; Jimmy will also make a better resale car n marutis dealership n service is unmatched.
Just bought a jimny....bro its beyond awesome. I drove my friends thar for a week n i hated it mainly because the seating position was not at all to my taste n the ride was just awful. I was expecting jimny to feel the same and looking at its size i thought it would feel too small. I was so mistaken. Its very comfortable and a joy to ride. I took it into a huge water puddle today which i did not expect it would clear bt it didnt even skip a beat. Loved it n we r not gonna sell it ever 😂

Thar is way more aggressive than jimny one of the best automatic gearbox for off-road. Stock at tyres one of the best mld in price segment engine is also so responsive so i took it to many off-roads thar is way more capable than jimny easily so i prefer thar only. Jimny is also good but tyres r very poor for off-road stearing is also laggy i have automatic its one of the worst automatic i have seen feels very lag in power. And its not ment for who r above 5'9" bcz ist very congested for 4 people also driver and co passengers touchs their shoulders. And it hase poor build quality no strength in chessi and body. In my opinion thar is best from jimny

I am using Thar diesel for last two years as my day to day vehicle. I have changed suspension on my Thar.

The only negative in Jimny is its engine. The 1.5 ltrs diesel engine in Jimny would have ruled this segment.
